Game Day Open Thread: Week 10 - Rams at Seahawks

St. Louis
Rams

(4-4)
at Seattle
Seahawks

(5-3)

Sunday, November 12, 1:15pm PT
Qwest Field
TV: FOX
If we win this one, we can pretty much spend more time with our families for a couple weeks. Except those of us who don't have families, maybe you could hit a casino or church or something.

Scruffy Lefty's most excellent injury report is a thing of wonder and beauty, and is reprinted "below the jump" in this piece. Next week it'll get front page. But it's really nice, almost hypnotic. Depressing, of course, but really well-done.

I'll be at the game, but please feel free to pound away here, and at the SB Nation Rams blog Turf Show Times.

W00t!
I'll be there cheering on Seneca and Mo Mo! I think we're in section 330 if anybody wants to swing by. If you wanna see what I look like, you can check out my (awesome) MySpace page. Just click into the pics area, since I don't have one of me as my main photo. Apologies to those who don't have MySpace, 'cause you can't check out the rest of my photos unless you are a registered user, but MySpace happens to be the only place I have a photo of myself online.

Oh, and I should be wearing blue jeans, a blue Seahawks shirt (over many layers of thermal shirts) and a red and black knit cap.

by Phildopip on Nov 12, 2006 7:28 AM PST   0 recs

Check that.
I'll be wearing a Seahawks ballcap.

backups or not, someone needs to step up and get us a HUGE W.
Josh Brown is better than you.

by MFAN on Nov 12, 2006 8:43 AM PST   0 recs

If anyone can figure out
these Bengals, let me know. Unstoppable in the first half, but they're getting crushed in the 2nd.

by peterpeter on Nov 12, 2006 12:09 PM PST   0 recs

they remind me a lot of the 2004 seahawks
world beaters one week....egg beaters the next.

thank you SD-CIN
for such an entertaining game prior to the Seahawks!

by peterpeter on Nov 12, 2006 12:35 PM PST   0 recs

you're lucky
here, i get to choose between the ugly offensive performaces in the Minn-GB game and the KC-Miami game... ugh.

by Ryan Armbrust on Nov 12, 2006 12:41 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

that is so sad
because this game is amazing. 42-38, San Diego. Carson Palmer with 398 yards passing, Chad Johnson 226 yards receiving, LT with 4 touchdowns, and there's like 14 minutes left in the game.

Wow.

by peterpeter on Nov 12, 2006 12:49 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

this in incredible
best game of the year so far.
Josh Brown is better than you.

by MFAN on Nov 12, 2006 12:49 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

they're not even showing highlights here
they mentioned that Ocho Cinco had 226 yard on 9 catches and two touchdowns, but that's it.

here we go!
LET'S GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

by MFAN on Nov 12, 2006 1:22 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

Mostly style, but yeah
I think most people would look like Black Thought with that beard and hair-do.

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 1:23 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

Spencer looks good at C...
Womack is getting great push on running plays, but really this is just great gameplanning.

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 1:21 PM PST   0 recs

Jerramy drops a ball
but this time, it's not his fault! weird.

Stuck in Virginia with no Seahawks goodness!

crap
that's bad.

by Ryan Armbrust on Nov 12, 2006 1:26 PM PST   0 recs

so...
the NFL is going to fine the Rams for it, but the Seahawks will also get one because they attempted to kick first?

Well luckily plays like that aren't predicative.
But you don't like starting in the hole.

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 1:28 PM PST   0 recs

okaaaaay.....
Offense, take 2.

by peterpeter on Nov 12, 2006 1:29 PM PST   0 recs

maybe we
should just immediately kick a field goal, regardless of down, when we enter the red zone
Stuck in Virginia with no Seahawks goodness!

by Cornflakes on Nov 12, 2006 1:30 PM PST   0 recs

big
Apparently not only did they forget to throw away the key, Leonard Little isn't locked up in the first place.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

by wackomann on Nov 12, 2006 1:30 PM PST   0 recs

wow
Who is this wearing the #20 jersey, and what have they done with the real MoMo?

by Ryan Armbrust on Nov 12, 2006 1:33 PM PST   0 recs

I don't think it was every Maurice's fault...
Spencer was getting no push at LG, for the Hawk's system that is vital for the ground game. Womack, Sims anyone but Spencer at that leftside.

Oh, and the Rams D sucks.

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 1:38 PM PST to parent up   0 recs

red zone
this offense looks like it's rolling. nice.

by Ryan Armbrust on Nov 12, 2006 1:35 PM PST   0 recs

Somehow, no matter how bad that fumble was...
I have a really good feeling about this game.

2004 revisited
An out-of-bounds kickoff special from Josh Brown there.  A little nostalgia for us all.

Is there a team who hasn't found a whole in our...
this year?

I think Marshall needs to rethink his coverage schemes.

Good play Tatupu!

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 1:48 PM PST   0 recs

well that could of been worse
I feel like I have being saying that a lot this year.
Josh Brown is better than you.

by MFAN on Nov 12, 2006 1:50 PM PST   0 recs

hmmph.
Well, the Seahawk defense didn't touch the field until 11 minutes into the game, and they nearly gave up a touchdown but held the Rams to a field goal.  Not bad, I guess.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

Are we double teaming Leonard Little?
I'm just not sure yet.

by NoNameX on Nov 12, 2006 2:01 PM PST   0 recs

deltafense
Good three-and-out by the defense there.  I thought the Rams would move the chains at least once after they had Holt get nine yards on the first play.  This is good.

Holding on kickoffs deep in your own territory, however, is bad.

Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

by wackomann on Nov 12, 2006 2:05 PM PST   0 recs

...number of fake points I got out of Philip Rivers today.  Also, I completely lucked out with Frank Gore.  Reggie Wayne also caught a touchdown.  The bad news is that I have Josh Brown left, and my opponent has a bunch of guys in the late game and Thomas Jones tomorrow.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

by wackomann on Nov 12, 2006 2:16 PM PST   0 recs

grr.

Stevens
Out of my doghouse.  Caught the tight end up the seam touchdown play that he's designed for.  Thank you.  Now just shut your mouth and we'll be ok.
DAMNIT!

by TIF on Nov 12, 2006 2:18 PM PST   0 recs

Hey Herndon, we know you can't cover Holt,
but can you at least get close to him?

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 2:18 PM PST   0 recs

BTW...
The Rams run an offense like this:  7 blockers, 1 thrower, 3 receivers.  Seriously.
DAMNIT!

by TIF on Nov 12, 2006 2:18 PM PST   0 recs

They're also really good at
Having their backfield guys block just enough to slip out unnoticed by a linebacker.  Somebody there in the second level has to start covering Jackson when he slips out.

The BC Lions are also about to walk into the locker room with a 22-3 lead over Saskatchewan.  Saskatchewan's quarterback?  Kerry Joseph.  Surely some of you remember him.  Also, I think the Roughriders still have that kicker that missed an unclutch 18-yarder a few years ago.
