Game Day Open Thread: Week 10 - Rams at Seahawks

St. Louis
Rams

(4-4)
at Seattle
Seahawks

(5-3)

Sunday, November 12, 1:15pm PT
Qwest Field
TV: FOX
If we win this one, we can pretty much spend more time with our families for a couple weeks. Except those of us who don't have families, maybe you could hit a casino or church or something.

Scruffy Lefty's most excellent injury report is a thing of wonder and beauty, and is reprinted "below the jump" in this piece. Next week it'll get front page. But it's really nice, almost hypnotic. Depressing, of course, but really well-done.

I'll be at the game, but please feel free to pound away here, and at the SB Nation Rams blog Turf Show Times.

I'll be there cheering on Seneca and Mo Mo! I think we're in section 330 if anybody wants to swing by. If you wanna see what I look like, you can check out my (awesome) MySpace page. Just click into the pics area, since I don't have one of me as my main photo. Apologies to those who don't have MySpace, 'cause you can't check out the rest of my photos unless you are a registered user, but MySpace happens to be the only place I have a photo of myself online.

Oh, and I should be wearing blue jeans, a blue Seahawks shirt (over many layers of thermal shirts) and a red and black knit cap.

that is so sad
because this game is amazing. 42-38, San Diego. Carson Palmer with 398 yards passing, Chad Johnson 226 yards receiving, LT with 4 touchdowns, and there's like 14 minutes left in the game.

Wow.

by TIF on Nov 12, 2006 3:00 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It gave us horrible field position.
The offense was forced to be conservative, because a TO means 6 the other way.

Even if we would have had a three and out from where we would have otherwise gotten the ball it would have given them much worse field position. Field position is a HUGE part of football, and if you can't see how Hamlin choosing to pick a ball that Holt had  no shot at is a blunder, well shoot--I'm not going to be able to explain it to you.

by John Morgan on Nov 12, 2006 3:07 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

dang
First off, it's partly 20/20 now, but considering the Rams' field position now, Hamlin really should have just knocked the ball down.

I'm starting to question whether the Seahawks even deserve this game.  Ugh.  How many times can they give the Rams a short field and expect to get away with only giving up field goals?  The problem is, even with a couple more field goals, the Rams can make it more than a one-possession game.

Point is, the Seahawks need yet another stop, and they need seven on the next drive.

6-4, the soft squishy part of their schedule remains.

Josh Brown is money.

My guess is he'll get mucho money in free agency after the year, but damn...

How does 6-3 feel?

How does 6-3 feel?

Two-game division lead, plus the tiebreaker.

Oh, this feels mighty good.

Meanwhile, Fox has switched me to the Saints/Steelers game.

northwest football aplenty...
The BC Lions clobbered the Saskatchewan Roughriders 45-18 and are in the Grey Cup final against the Montreal Alouettes.  The game will be played in Winnipeg next Sunday.  No two weeks of Super Bowl hype up there.

You're right.
We are fuckers. A "fucker" may be defined as "one who fucks." I don't see how that's insulting.

I'm sorry
You're right, there is an "n" in "unknown", but there's also a "g" in "chugging", a "g" in "driving", and the proper form of "your" is "you're", short for you are.

Just FYI. :)

My Game ball
goes to Trufant for making one hell of a block on the Burelson punt return. Marcus had all day to put a block in the back but decided not to and caught up and made a clean block.

Thank you Marcus for making my dreams come true

hey
The secondary corralled Bruce and Holt real well today. I haven't looked at the numbers yet, but Trufant did a great job in coverage also.

Oh yeah? Well, your analysis of the disparity between Immanuel Kant's rationalism and David Hume's committed defense of radical empiricism sucks!

But you still have your flawless spelling, which as we all know is how all the best teams won multiple Super Bowls.
