they could still be #2
You know, the NFC is sad. Just sad.
Why?
Though it'd require a highly unlikely chain of events, the Seahawks could still take the #2 seed in the NFC, so let's all give a big thank-you to the Washington Redskins for even making such a pipe-dream scenario possible.
What will it take, and in what order?
(1) the Seahawks run the table (I did say it was highly unlikely) to finish 10-6
(2) the Saints lose out (at the Giants and home against Carolina) to finish 9-7
(3) the Cowboys lose out (home against the Eagles and Detroit) to finish 9-7
(4) after beating Dallas in Week 16, the Eagles lose at home to Atlanta on New Year's Eve, finishing 9-7.
Again, I'm not saying I think it'll happen. In fact, I think there's no way in hell all of this will fall into place since the Seahawks have proved time and time again this season that they can't take care of business, and this whole scenario is moot if the Seahawks don't run the table.
...but the fact that this scenario is even possible speaks volumes about the NFC.
A place to bury strangers.
