Gardner In, Pollard Out, Trufant Down
DE Robert Pollard has been released. Pollard only played in the most recent game against San Francisco.
The theories swell that the roster spot will be expended on a defensive back for the remaining Seahawks games, now that Marcus Trufant appears to have -- say it with feeling, everyone -- gone down to injury with a high ankle sprain.
Sando says former Titan CD Rich Gardner will be visiting Seattle today for an informational chat with those involved, and could be signed this week.
Update [2006-12-27 16:39:35 by Shrug]: The Seahawks have signed Gardner. Trufant is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, which indicates that he'll be back on the team should they manage to squeak into the latter rounds of the playoffs.

I don't entirely disagree.
I realize it's a reality of the NFL and has been for a long time, but yeah, it secretly bugs me too.
[OLD MAN VOICE] And those crazy kids with their dapper-do and that animal rock and roll music! What's wrong with Artie Shaw?? Let a man die in peace, will ya...[/OLD MAN VOICE]
lol
But Seriously, I have the same feelings about going 8-8. It just seems icky, for lack of a better term. I won't be upset if we lose on Sunday, but man 9-7 would be better than 8-8.
Even 9-7 bugs me... a little.
But ya know. The numbers won't mean anything in the second season. It could be the greatest comeback story of all time. You never know.
Really, I'm not kidding. You honestly never know.
Stop looking at me like that.
