Herndon, Williams on IR; Seahawks Sign Hunter & Howell

The seasons of cornerbacks Kelly Herndon and Jimmy Williams ended on Tuesday, as they were placed on injured reserve for a broken ankle and a torn knee ligament, respectively.

Taking their places on the roster are CB Pete Hunter and S John Howell.

Hunter spent three seasons with the Cowboys before spending last year with the Browns. For a backup, his numbers look all right.

Howell spent last year with Seattle, but finished it on injured reserve as well. He was also the subject of an interesting ESPN Insider profile (subscription) while playing for Tampa Bay, after he came out about his bout with clinical depression. Yup, Seattle weather'll clear that right up for ya.

Anyway, welcome abaord/back. Anyone got a fruit basket?
