I would put the over/under on total points scored
in both playoff games today at 110, maybe 120. That's some exciting playoff football.

And of course, Go Hawks!

I gonna say under
just have a feeling all these shitty defenses are going to step up today.

Drew Bledsoe, still the offensive captain for the Cowboys.

Turns out he can't even win the coin toss.

get it out of the way...
Just to end all future suggestions...

Let's put Wallace in the backfield and line up Hasselbeck in the slot, have Wallace snap the ball, and find a receiver in the end zone.

Then run the Statue of Liberty play for 2 points.

Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

That's what they should have gotten.  The red zone offense sucks so bad this year.

What a great and much needed defensively play that was by Jordan Babineaux on what would have been a catch by Terrell Owens for a first down.

I'm surprised we're not blitzing more.
Does Marshall not know who we have playing in the secondary?

Love that Peterson signing.

DeMarcus Ware ran through him like he was Heather Locklear on that play.  Third down is a bad time to do that.

Too bad that right sideline bomb to Jackson didn't connect.

grr.
The fact that Dallas has been good all year on third down doesn't make me any less angry.  Peterson driving Jones back is great, but a third-down conversion across midfield is a major buzzkill.

The Seahawks should have had at least two touchdowns by now.  Instead, they're down by four at half unless Burleson surprises the crap out of all of us in the next 11 seconds.

Half Time Recap
We are winning the field position battle, but that's something that can change in a flash.

Marshall's game plan and play calling have been excellent. I'm still worried about our run D in the second half, though. This game is way too close. We need to keep Romo passing, we've gotten good pressure and it's definitely screwing him up, but we've yet to make much of that.

The Witten fumble was a complete fluke, but awesome nonetheless.

Our offense has been decent. It's, at least, keeping the D fresh. We are playing poor close to the goal, something that's been a problem all year. Hasselbeck has seemingly reverted to v.2003 ever since his knee injury.

Alexander has been strong, but he has to learn when to not cut-back.

A four point lead is all but meaningless; this is a new game and there is a good chance one of these teams is going to pull away in the second half. If the Hawks establish the pass I think it will be them, if Dallas establishes the run then, well, one and done, Hawks fans.

by John Morgan on Jan 6, 2007 6:32 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

remember...
I remember when Matt Hasselbeck's completion percentage wasn't crap.  He hasn't really been sharp with his passes, either.

little time
It's great to control the ball for a massive clock-eating drive, but it doesn't matter if you allow crazy-ass long pass plays to the opposing team, or if you allow kicks to get run back.  Dare I say, it's like facing the freakin' Rams.  A lot of points can get put onto the board in very little time.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.

by wackomann on Jan 6, 2007 7:06 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Returns are mostly just fluke plays.
The points don't come off the scoreboard, but our drive was more imnportant because our offense was doing something they can do again. All-in-All, return TDs suck; not the worse thing that can happen.

replay might not matter
Just heard Jackson's out for the game, and if Hackett's out too, I just don't know.  Hasselbeck hasn't had rhythm all day.  They'll get good yardage with one play, then the next is an incomplete pass or a stuff.  Just no rhythm.
