Which former Hawk would you want?

The post about old-school Seahawks unis made me think about the following question: which one former Seahawk would you choose to sub onto this team, replacing the current starter for the remainder of this season?  Assume the former Hawk would have the ability he had at his prime for the team.

Hutch?  Would allow Sims to move to RG and Gray to do something else.

Tez?  Brilliant, but not really a position of weakness for the current Hawks.

Easley?  Brilliant and a position of weakness for Hawks.

Sinclair?  Don't know that he's a marked improvement over either Tapp or Kerney.

Boswo...  Nevermind.

Says something either about the talent level of the current team or the poor talent of prior Seahawks teams that I cannot think of many others I'd even consider.

Yeah
I'd take C-dub over SA in a heartbeat.  That guy was a beast before that fateful sweep and knee blowout against, who was it?  KC?

Gotta agree with John on Hutch with this one, though.

Oh hell yeah
I was 8 when Warner tore his ACL. It's one of those remember-where-you-were moments for me.

Still, I'd choose Hutch as well.

Hutch is an all time great at his position.
I used to think that no guard was worth what Stevo was paid, I was wrong. He wins at the point. He is aware of passing lanes. His HOF skill, the loop on his highlight reel in football heaven, is his insane ability to pull block. Not only does he run better blocking routes than all but the best fullbacks, he squares up and absolutely explodes guys. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't think Hutch would fix Alexander's problems, but damn, what Morris and Weaver could do behind him. I may never live to see Seattle have a better guard than Hutchinson.

Oh?
You want a receiver that drops everything? Bring Jerramy Stevens back as well!
Brian Russell is worse than you.

For what it's worth
I meant you get the former Hawk at the peak of their abilities with the Hawks.  But yeah, having Rice or Franco Harris at the peak of their abilities over their entire careers would be swell.

Warren Moon
We get him at his prime right?  I know Beck is great but I would love to see what Warren Moon could have been if he had spent his entire career in the NFL instead of being relegated to the CFL.

I'm going to go with
Largent, I know it's probably not the smartest because our WR's are not our weakest link by far, but still, he's a hall of famer.

Loved that guy

And no Steve Largent love?

by kentroyals5 on Dec 9, 2007 9:40 PM PST   0 recs

I loved Largent
(as a player, not as a politician), but the time we needed someone like him was a few years ago when our receivers were dropping passes all over the place.  I'm pretty happy with our WR situation these days.

Walter Jones, you were the greatest, most dominant player I've ever seen at any position. It's been an honor to be your fan.
