Belichick cuts a beli-check

Coach gets manhandled by the Commish with a $500,000 fine, the Patriots get fined an additional $250,000, and then the Commish gets creative. A 1st rounder gone if they make it to the postseason, a 2nd and 3rd if they don't.

I have nothing new to add to this, besides the fact that I felt that there was nothing new on this planet that could make me possibly hate Boston sports teams (and fans) more.

I was wrong. All in all, though, I think a fair punishment. The calls for game forfeiture and banning from the postseason seemed NCAA-ish and stupid. This hurts the main perpetrators in the pocket and in the draft. Kudos to the NFL.

A place to bury strangers.

I think it may be a tad harsh
but I'm glad to see the comish not only take a hard stance against players but the teams as well

My opinion on cheating
If you get caught, and get punished, don't bitch.  If you cheat and get away with it, good for you!  Gamesmanship is part of sports.

As a fan of DMZ's book, I think we need to realize that cheating is a part of sports.  I realize that those who get cheated on (The Cheatees?) will complain and be sore but I know deep down in their hearts they just wished they'd thought of it first.

This is more then I was expecting in terms of punishment, but considering the NFL has already had their eyes on the Patriots for this same thing, for the Pats to try this again and get caught... well that's just stupid.  You knew the risks, you eat the punishment.  That's the way it goes.

DAMNIT!

What's interesting to me
as I was listening to some radio and reading a few articles, is how divided people are in that the punishment was either too harsh or not harsh enough. That, to me, is probably a good sign that it was, in the words of Goldilocks, just right.
