Redskins sign Plack, Shaun, and Mike Green. Cowboys trade for Roy Williams
Or so reports Seahawks beat reporter Clare Farnsworth.
The Washington Redskins have signed former Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander to one-year contract, the NFL Network is reporting, and they've also added ex-Seattle punter Ryan Plackemeier.
Alexander was offered a contract after working out with the team today. He was released by the Seahawks in April.
Plackemeier was released last month, when the Seahawks signed punter Jon Ryan.
So much for us resigning Plack. Looks like we're stuck with Jon Ryan.
Finally SA gets a new gig. I doubt he'll get many carries behind Portis.
And to complete the trifecta of Redskin ex-Seahawks, Farnsworth is also reporting safety Mike Green was acquired by the 'skins.
Thoughts on the moves?
Scruffy - I'm just piggy backing on this because we don't need another thread. But the Boys just traded for Roy Williams.

Jon Ryan has been pretty solid.
He got off to a rough start, but he’s averaging a tick over 45 yards per punt this year.

Except all those balls hes kicked in the end zone
And that he out kicked our coverage on that 60yarder last weekend.
You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Ryan is awful.
The only way he kicks the ball far is to kick it so low it out kicks the coverage. Of all the stupid moves this season, this is one of my most hated. Seattle will be drafting a punter in 2009.
Why don't we just release all our bad players if the Skins just gonna pick them up?
Then, we can take all their players. Next thing you know, we’re 4-2 and they are 1-4.

Stump Mitchell just can't learn how to quit Shaun

Roy Williams and a 7th rounder to the Cowboys
for a 1st, 3rd and a 6th

Man, I thought
our front office has made some questionable moves. I couldn’t imagine losing all those draft picks for Roy Williams. Another punk to join a team full of punks.

Wow, the Skins go on an ex-Hawk shopping Spree
Seeing Alexander in a different uniform will be strange

Why are the Cowboys panicking so much?
Outside of Owens, they’re a pretty young team, and it’s not as if their championship window is closing this year.

Why does my bolding not work?

True
But you gotta figure DET would probably Franchise Tag him. If that’s the case, then he costs two 1st rounders – which in the past few offseasons has usually been talked down to a 1st & 3rd to facilitate the deal.
Looking at it that way, I suppose the price makes sense, if they really wanted him that bad.
How can the Cowboys afford all of these players?
They’ve gotta start bleeding talent soon don’t they?
Wait wait wait
Lets start at this beginning of this. Redskins have two punters, cut one right before the start of the season (abandoning a punter version of the two kicker trick play Seattle is sitting on). Packers in turn cut their punter in order to sign the recently cut Redskins punter. The Seahawks, in a moment of sheer panic, cut their punter after week one to sign the recently cut Packers punter. 4 weeks later? The Redskins pick up the punter cut by the Seahawks.
Thats one hell of a punter triangle right there.
Seahawks just did it to fit in
And Zorn knew this would happen the whole time, he just wanted Plack on the roster…….
Genius, Zorn is a genius
