Justin Forsett back on the Seahawks 53-man

According to Farnsworth:

The Seahawks did not make a trade by the NFL deadline today, but they did sign rookie running back Justin Forsett off the practice squad.

To clear a spot on the 53-man roster, rookie wide receiver Micheal Bumpus was released. It's likely he'll end up back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Hey! Here's to small miracles. I was slammed last week and missed that he had even been released by the Colts:

When the Indianapolis Colts released rookie running back Justin Forsett on Tuesday, the transaction came with a tagline: They planned to re-sign him next week.

Rather than wait around, however, Forsett decided to come "home." When the Seahawks called with an offer to join their practice squad, he jumped at it.

"I always thought this was my home, wanted to be here, so I'm just glad to have this chance to be back," Forsett said Thursday after his first practice in his second stint with the Seahawks. "I always wanted to be here. I never wanted to leave in the first place."

Glad to have you back, son.

Why is Bumpus going back to the PS?

Ruskell is really worrying me this year.

The same reason we have 17 tailbacks

No idea

McMuffin should of been cut. But I think since Branch is out McMuffin fills the need outside where as Bumpus is mostly a slot guy.

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Without Billy McMullen, ...

Koren Robinson would be the only healthy split end. Plus, the slot receiver position is already filled by Bobby Engram and, to a lesser extent, Keary Colbert. Yet, let’s hope that Michael Bumpus will be on the Seahawks’ active roster come next season, particularly ’cause Engram may bolt for greener pastures during free agency.

I thought that Jordan Kent was a flanker.

That goes for Courtney Taylor, too; he battled with Kent during training camp and the pre-season to replace D.J. Hackett at the reserve flanker spot behind Deion Branch, who’s injured at this moment.

Yeah, you guys are right on the money.

During training camp and the pre-season, Jordan Kent battled Logan Payne for playing time a split end. That makes sense, too, as Kent has the size and athleticism to eventually become a proficient possession receiver in the NFL.

It was Ben Obomanu ...

who, up until he the point that broke his clavicle, had competed with Courtney Taylor.

Dammit, I’ve got an awful memory.

Watching Josh Wilson return kicks

would be my guess. That and the now-surplus of receivers.

He doesn't know the offense well enough to be useful....and Forsett is better at returning punts

Look…I’m a WSU Coug and love Bumpus…but the one game he started getting legit playing time against the Rams…he made all kinds of mistakes (except the td), but ran bad routes and had a ton of confusion prior to plays, one lead to a forced first quarter time out.

He will be back!
