Game Thread: Seahawks @ Tampa Bay 2
On the one hand, unlike in previous weeks, Seattle isn't getting their skulls stomped in. They are losing, but they're stopping the run, winning important matchups and look like a slightly inferior team that's suffered some terrible breaks.
On the other hand, I no longer think Seattle is a good team. A bad team trailing by 17 doesn't come back. This might be my last sincere half of hope for this season. If Seattle is crushed, and I guess I should expect they will be, I'll continue discussing impact players for next season. Need something to watch.

i still marvel at this amazing drop from contender to one of the worst in league

its amazing how a team that is fairly similar to how it was last year has fallen so fast
by SacramentoSeahawk on Oct 19, 2008 6:56 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Injuries, bad breaks and some decline.
The NFL is so tight, a little lost ground and you can sink fast.

such a shame, too, because the NFC is so wide f-ing open this year.

considering kurt warner as AZ QB, the carnival that is QB in SF and St. Louis
it doesn’t seem a true contender will emerge soon

If you told me last summer that a Red Sox/Rays game would completely overshadow a Bucs/Hawks game on SNF
I would have clawed my eyes out

I can't be the only who doesn't give a damn about the Rays.
I mean, good for them, but I have no love or commitment to Tampa Bay.

But fuck Boston and their douchey fanbase who still thinks they're underdogs with 3 super bowls, 2 world series, and an NBA finals in the last 8 years

that's what ridiculous injuries will do
it’s not just the injuries themselves… I have a feeling the whole team just feels snakebit and has lost its confidence.
The coaching situation has not helped.

He's been fine
Being behind by so much has forced us to throw.

How is Morris
better than JJ?

Anyone else notice how well all our RBs are doing
this year at protecting the ball? No fumbles, right?

QB draw
haven’t called a straight draw all night.

Oh God, the lame duck coach spiel.
We;ve heard it all today. Lame duck, Hutch etc.

the naitonal media really doesn't have much else, they tend to ignore SEA unless forced not to
by SuperShadow on Oct 19, 2008 8:05 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
it is time
we learned the value of talent. REAL talent, not potential. We get ridden like a mule on Hutch because we let THE BEST GUARD in the game go. We get ridden like a mule because we allowed our team chemistry to be subconsciously sabotaged.
It is what it is...

It's a post-mortem on the Holmgren era for the Hawks
they’ll probably flex out the NE-SEA game, so this will be the last time NBC sees them this year.

CARLSON TD
Sorry, two bright lights this year, JJ and Carlson
by GarethLewin on Oct 19, 2008 8:08 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Forsett perhaps, and maybe Red by the end of the season?
Certainly not Courtney Taylor, remember when he had ‘potential’?
by LantermanC on Oct 19, 2008 8:09 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Carlson TD! Whooo
That might have just won me fantasy football this week!
by LantermanC on Oct 19, 2008 8:08 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Is this the time to pull out the two kicker play?
Some trick onside kick thing where Mare laterals to Coutu?
by GarethLewin on Oct 19, 2008 8:09 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Do we take a QB
in round one?
It is what it is...
by kidder95 on Oct 19, 2008 8:10 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
No.
A small, quick LB with potential!
Sorry.

I was just thinking that.
If we had beaten the 49s at home (I was at the game), we would be what? 2nd?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I think we would have all been better off watching abc family. They just played all 3 turtle movies in a row. That’s awesome

Holmgren looks like he wants to kill someone
probably whoever convinced him to come back this year.
by GarethLewin on Oct 19, 2008 8:15 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I think K-rob has a future with the hawks going forward.
anyone else agree?
by redwolf75 on Oct 19, 2008 8:16 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I love KROB
As long as he stays clean

who knows with Ruskell… he is a fundamentalist

by kidder95 on Oct 19, 2008 8:18 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Let's not be unfair.
Ruskell would send him packing only if he saw evidence of K-rob going back to his old ways.

Yes. Maybe it's dumb of me, but I'm finally
inclined to be believe he’s turned a corner. It may have to do with the fact he has a wife and 2-3 kids now.
