Quick Cap: Seahawks 34 - 49ers 13
I was wrong.
It was a moment of passion.
I can change.
Schmitt was just a fling.
Don't ever leave me you sweet, beautiful bastard.

I LOVE IT
We are now in SECOND PLACE in the division and we are just two games back with two games against the cards still to come!
The cards still have the giants, eagles, pats and vikings ahead. We still have the skins, boys, and pats. We both have 5/9 at home. Next week against philly is a HUGE game (as is every game if we are gonna pull off a miracle playoff run) and if we beat the cards twice we could end up going to the playoffs even with an 8-8 record.
This is how our defense is supposed to operate. I think it is a stupid way to play but we are supposed to be giving up dinks and dunks and taking way the deep ball while winning the turnover battle. I think we need to stop trying to play that way but this is how its supposed to work out, and why, I am starting to think, we have looked SO horrible without a clear cut culprit of late.

Soooo bitter.
Love it. When I was…15-20 I would drink all kinds of shit. And I’m not talking Pabst. Wild Irish Rose. High Gravity. The ol’ Stoner Ice Tall Boy 15 minute challenge, it’s so nice to be older and have some kind of taste.
Rasputin is damn nice, but it’s hard/easy to get drunk on that shit. Had someone tell me to down it once. That was a dizzy walk to the bar.

I was in Olympia briefly.
Went to Evergreen. Two defining moments: Guy asking me if football was “paramilitary” and getting bitched out for implying a paraplegic wouldn’t want a backrub. Still, the school was okay.

I liked TESC a lot, but I grew up in Oly and just couldn't take it anymore.
Kinda’ wish I had stuck it out for the last two years, but man that place got to be suffocating.
My favorite TESC moment was getting reamed for suggesting that middle/high school students should be given education about/access to birth control because it makes fish hermaphrodites.

7-2 from here out
NOT IMPOSSIBLE, but not easy, either.
Philly
@ Miami
Arizona
Washington
@ Dallas
NE
@ StL
NYJ
@ Arizona
A lot depends on how they play against Philly next week. If this ship is slowly turning around then even a close loss to the #2 team in DVOA suggests we could clear the rest of the table at home and pick off wins @Miami and @Arizona.
by Will Kier on Oct 26, 2008 5:35 PM PDT 0 recs
For the Hawks to have any chance at the playoffs,
it seems imperative to me that they sweep the Cards. That would make up the two games and give us the tie-break. From there it would be a matter of playing Arizona to a standstill for the remaining 7 games (assuming neither SF nor STL goes on a huge run). It will be interesting to see football outsiders tomorrow, but after what happened in the NFC West today, I could see the Hawks’ playoff odds jumping all the way to 5-10%. Pretty exciting.

Watching Tapp for two weeks.
That’s huge. I think Jackson is developing too. Wilson is slowly becoming a competent sometimes spectacular corner. I don’t think this team makes into the postseason, but the young talent is there for a team that can compete for years.

This is going to be a fascinating offseason.
Knowing Ruskell, there’s gonna be changes-a-many… most of which even the smartest amongst us will fail to predict.
Even if we don’t make the post-season… there are a lot of chances for some upsets to prove that this team has what it takes if they’re healthy.

People have been panicking, but you can go back through the Ruskell regime and see good process, good process—he’s building for the future. I think replacing Womack and Russell is going to help this team turn into something special and perhaps for some time.

Amazing how Singletary feeding his team to the media...
warrants praise. If I were a 49er, I’d feel betrayed. Don’t see how Davis was the difference.
by John Morgan on Oct 26, 2008 7:06 PM PDT 0 recs
Davis is absolutely not the difference.
However, Singletary I think is doing the right thing. Just coming in he is drawing the line and the players have to step over it. Attitude is one of the biggest things that he has the ability to change.

I like what Singeltary did during the game
Even if what Russell said deserves a slap, Davis is better off walking away and being the bigger man. However I don’t like that he chewed out Davis to the media. He should have told the reporters that what happened was he between him and Vernon and leave it at that.
Everyone responds to things differently. Maybe thats the kick in the ass the niners needed or maybe it creates division in the locker room. In the end…winning usually solves everything.

Good job, Seneca!
No turnovers. Key completions. In short, he didn’t f**k it up and did enough to win. I was hoping he would wake up this week, not that he’d listen to my calls…

Weaver the man today, WOO....
I just have to say what an unbelievable performance for the up and coming Fullback. However, if this is going to turn around Wallace is going to have to settle and start hitting his receivers and for the ones that he does hit, those guys have to catch the ball.
I mean for God’s sake, I feel like we are watching the 2004 receiving corps out there. These guys are not getting the picture.
I mean, yeah you know that it all takes being able to run a good route and having the QB actually throw the ball to you correctly. But damn man, how many times is Kent going to let the damn ball hit him in the chest and drop it.
Lets pray that Matt heals this week and these guys find some stickum. GO HAWKS!

I irrationally will hope for a win against the Eagles, especially seeing we are playing at home.
by redwolf75 on Oct 26, 2008 10:06 PM PDT 0 recs
I agree
I feel that Singletary, doesn’t pull him in a close situation.
Also, you are right we are playing at home and if the DEFENSE plays like today putting the same pressure on McNabb while maintaining good coverage against the Phili receivers. We should have a great chance.
However, If Matt isn’t back soon, I am not sure!
