Taylor Cut, Kent called up -- Forsett cut from the Colts
The Seattle beat writers, including Clare Farnsworth, are reporting that CourtneyTaylor has been cut and Jordan Kent called up to replace him. In my opinion, this won't change much at all. Neither seem to be of much use on special teams (which we want for a 4th-6th receiver), and I doubt Kent will produce any more than Taylor.
But than again, he won't have to, as we finally seem to have a healthy cadre of receivers (Branch will only be out a week at most, and it is being reported that Koren will be ready for the GB game). As John says, Taylor still has potential, so I hope he'll be signed to the PS.
Sando is reporting that the Colts have cut Justin Forsett. Hopefully he can also be signed to our PS, and Matt Lawrence bumped off.
Opinions on the moves?

Cutting Taylor and signing Kent doesn't really make a lot of sense to me ...
… unless they expect that Kent can contribute on special teams. I mean, if they’re just going to leave him inactive, they could have done that with Taylor, right?
By the way, this is one of the things that drives me nuts about mainstrem media.
Is that all three of these beat writers said, “This has happened,” and that’s the end of it. I’d like to know what it means, please. What good is access if it doesn’t give their readers anything beyond what we can find on our own on the waiver wire? And thanks for telling us that Taylor’s been ineffective and inactive … since we already knew that.
Perhaps this is why newspapers are dying a slow, painful death.

"...and Matt Lawrence bumped off."
Doesn’t promoting Kent free a space on the PS?

I'm still waiting for them to make a choice at Kicker
we should snag Forsett back, and please, do something with Coutu

Well, that's TWO teams that aren't so high on Forsett
Though the Colts did seem to have some depth at the position.

It's about time
Taylor has been given a long leash. He couldn’t produce in preseason nor could he in regular season. Atleast Kent has more potential given his physical characteristics.

Physical tools are overrrated. See: Nate Burleson.

not sure what you mean
because Burleson isn’t big or that fast.
He did, however, give us nine touchdowns last year.

I've been under the impression that Taylor has a higher upside than Kent.
I could be mistaken, though.

Do you
actually watch the Seahawks? Your posts leave me wondering. Kent was our number one receiver in pre-season, and is the fastest man on the team. He has the most raw talent of any of our WR’s the problem is just that, he’s very raw. Courtney Taylor shouldn’t have even been re-signed to the Practice squad. No one I can ever remember has ever done less with more opportunities. He is a lazy route runner with stone hands.

Can also be said about Kent.

Taylor is an accomplished college receiver.
Kent is a project. Kent does have better upside, whatever that is, but Taylor is much more likely to turn into a good receiver.

My guess would be that other teams are looking at Kent
and they are confident nobody is currently looking at Taylor

yep
And Courtney + Travis Lulay too.
They released Matt Lawrence and Trent Shelton to make room.
