No Harrel?

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

really?

I love the guy. Not helping my case tonight though

too many red flags

including a receiver that is better than him.

I'm trying to get a read on Harrell's arm speed

The out route he just threw to Crabtree lacked the NFL “zip”.

I wonder if he's going to get the "system quarterback" tag.

There hasn’t been a Leach quarterback that succeeded in the NFL yet.

No Idea really

I like his size and throwing motion more then Brennan. But Colt could scramble.

The deflections aren't good though.

Don’t know if his arm slot is too low for someone that tall. But yes, the size is more prototypical.

Colt Brennan yeah.

Colt McCoy, no, he’s an all american Texas golden boy.

Thoughts..

Harrel needs to stop standing there and get rid of the ball. You aren’t gonna get an hour to throw against the Sooners.

That said, I am really pulling for Texas Tech. I want Texas Tech and Alabama to both win out so that there will be an indisputable national champion. If Texas Tech loses then there will be a legitimate argument for Florida, USC, Penn St., Texas, Oklahoma, and even to a lesser extent Boise State and Utah to be in the title game. So obviously I want Alabama against Florida next week too.

Crabtree isn’t disappointing, I can’t wait for him to break a big one.

He continues to hold on to the ball for way too long. No countdown timer going on.

Not surprised at all this is already a blowout

I saw that first drive and thought Oklahoma was dominating the line of scrimmage. Tough to stop that.

That's what I don't know about Bradford

Is his success more dependent on having such an amazing offensive line? I mean he has so much time to throw the football each play.

Harrell doesn't do much of a job of looking off the secondary

In my opinion, the past couple of throws might have been picks in the NFL (but not against Russell… against a good safety).

Funny how people think the same thing and think the opposite.

I see Oden and Bynum and think, man Oden looks old and broken down already, Bynum looks like he’s young and quick and could possibly get better.

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 7:16 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

He's pretty fresh off major knee surgery.

Micro fracture, I thought he’d be injured all season.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 7:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

He didn't impress me that much in college either

until the Florida game where he pretty much dominated Noah and Horford.

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 7:22 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I only saw his first game, and his first game back from injury

and he looked slow (obviously since he’s cautious about his injuries). Bynum just looks explosive and agile compared to Oden. Though it’s not like Tim Duncan looks real explosive either.

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 7:20 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Bynum is special

so it’s no slight to say Oden isn’t as agile. I’m more than happy to have Oden the dominant inside force.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 22, 2008 7:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, I really like Johnson

Incredible speed, but the kind of toughness to drive a pile. I just wasn’t thinking back much after the JJ and Duckett signing so I didn’t spend too much time researching them. I did know that I wasn’t crazy about Mendenhall and Stewart.

I like crisp.

Red Seal is sooooo crisp. Real nice snap. I’m….lukewarm on anything Pyramid.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 7:53 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

The only issue with Hofbrau is that

it is hard to track down. Usually you only find it at Hofbrauhaus locations. There was one in Wrigleyville, so we’d always stop in for a Hefe before going out. I found some in bottles in Boston over the summer, so I’m sure if you look hard enough you can find it

Late to the party, but I can't resist.

I can’t pick one, so I’ll just list some faves.

IPA-Ruination, Pliny the Elder, Double Bastard
Stout-Stone Russian Imperial, Old Rasputin, Samuels Smith Oatmeal
Other micros-Anderson Valley Winter Solstice, Kettlehouse Cold Smoke Scotch Ale (This might be the best beer I’ve ever had, but I’ve only had it once and it’s only available a few months a year in Missoula so I can’t really call it a favorite.)
Belgian-Troubadour Obscura, St. Bernardus Abt 12
German-Celebrator, Sacker-Pschorr Weisse

I like Gonzaga

pull for Gonzaga

But does that team ever look bad in tournament.

He is making good quality moves for the long term

instead of throwing the wrong amount of money at the wrong players. This bodes well down the stretch, although I do wish the M’s had been able to pull in Dayan Viciedo.

I think fans get impatient with the "right decisions"

they want the bold decisions that work out because of luck.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 8:00 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

The very nice thing about the explosion of quality blogs

is that there is a place for people with brains to band together to appreciate the good moves. USSM and LL are tremendous for people like me who were devastated by the Bedard trade. The Steve Phillps’ of the world can go on ignoring the truth, but teams would be better off if run by basement dwelling jerks like Dave Cameron and some punk named John Morgan than the old guard who are getting fleeced by said jerks, forcing their teams to dwell in the basement.

As long as he doesn't throw $44 million at some fringe #4 pitcher, I'me fine.

Oh and finding a slugger who can play decent defense at the three easiest positions to find one (1b, lf, and DH) would be nice as well.

Washington is a fun team.

ESPN has unjustified love for them every year, and every year they manage to completely come apart at the seams.

As long as they don't move.

I’d consider getting a tattoo, but can’t think of anything important enough to me. Since you have a pretty awesome blog about the Seahawks, not a bad idea.

dumb.

Unless you are a tattoo person, but they look awful on old people.

but if you have a bunch of them already…. what’s one more?

but family and otherwise connections.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 8:10 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I thought this same thing.

But old people in general are pretty ugly, no?

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 8:10 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Well, just goofy.

I saw a guy, maybe 55 or 60, walking around with a sleeveless T on with tats on both arms. They looked like they had seen better days.

as that doesn’t go out of style and between the shoulder blades.

Tattoos look ok on buff people, but rpetty awful on fat people.

I think as long as you stay the same size, fat or buff, you're ok

it’s when you start stretching them out that they get weird.

How does everyone feel about the Titans?

I can’t shake the feeling that they just don’t have enough to compete in the playoffs, but the AFC is down this year anyway.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 8:18 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Sot of...

Our superbowl team had over a 60% chance of making the superbowl. Homefield throughout. We weren’t losing to the Redskins no matter what, they were awful.
I didn’t see us losing to the Panthers either, especially without a RB.

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 8:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

God I hated that. 100 players on two teams

and all they could talk about was one player that was at the end of his career being from the place where the superbowl was. Worst story line ever. The media is so damn dumb most of the time. That’s why blogs are so popular, because they cover stuff people actually want to hear.

I figure 1 out of 27.

They were on the road 3 straight. Against the 1,2, and 3 seeds. so 1/3*1/3*1/3.

by LantermanC on Nov 22, 2008 8:24 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Same.

Not sure how they’re undefeated. They’re definitely a good team, but not undefeated good. Offense seems to just have a good line and 2 good RBs. Defense doesn’t seem to have a weak link, but the only guys I know are Haynesworth and Finnegan (who is awsome, him and that Osmogh guy came out of nowhere?).

Nnamdi Asomugha has been good for 3 years at least.

If he didn’t play for the Raiders, he’d be talked about more but it’s hard to see the diamond in the burning pile of feces that is Al Davis’ creation

is like some ancient story of inbred insanity come to modern life.

by John Morgan on Nov 22, 2008 8:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

He's a really tragic figure

You could argue he’s done the most for the NFL and yet he’s torn cities and his own franchise apart.
