Seahawks 2009 Home/Away Opponents
Home: Arizona, San Francisco, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Tennessee
Away: Arizona, San Francisco, St. Louis, Minnesota, Green Bay, Dallas, Indianapolis, Houston
Not really sure how this shapes up difficulty wise but at least we'll be playing the worst divisions in the NFC. It's interesting that we play the same teams as last year based on our place in the division. Who would've thought at the beginning of the year that Seattle, Tampa Bay and Dallas would all be in 3rd place?
A place to bury strangers.

Holy crap.
Arizona and San Francisco seem to be two teams that are right near the cusp, but are missing that one or two bits that put them into the 10+ win category. Because of that, it’s not retarded to think we could be in contention next season with a schedule that allows for some very winnable games.

It'll be a big off-season for us
There are a lot of teams on that schedule that, like us, will be looking to rebound after a poor year. Even playoff teams like Minnesota and Arizona, both likely to be one and done in the post season, would consider themselves in the midst of a rebuilding process. A few veteran signings, a strong draft, and a smooth progression into the Mora era would leave us very competitive against all the above teams. All we can do is wait and hope. I see Singletary got a 3 year deal in San Fran, well deserved. With a weaker group of players than we have they won 5 of their last seven and are likely to improve further. If we don’t get this off-season right we could be the 3rd best team in the nfc west for the next few years.

Well, at least one of those games we'll have no chance of losing.
Lions at home?

With the Lions in position to draft a QB
and given the fact that most rookie QB’s struggle for a while before putting it together (Flacco and Ryan are freaks), how long until Detroit wins a game?

You can't bank on winning ANY game in the NFL.
Look what the Dolphins did this year. With an offseason of changes, any team can become good. Even the Lions. It may take them a bit, though, and I’d like to think that’s a W, but you never know how teams can turn it around. Strength of schedule is overrated.
I think it is STUPID to play Dallas away when we played there this season. It should be home/away/home, etc. if the same teams are played out of division. Ridiculous.
Overall not a very exciting home slate of games, IMO. The funnest teams to see are on the road. Peterson running, Indy throwing, and the young, exciting Houston team. Those will be fun game. Jacksonville is probably the one I’ll look to seeing the most at home. Calvin Johnson (DET) could be fun to go see, as well.

I got 8-9 based on just a regressed team next season.
I think the potential is there for that to be 12 wins pretty easily (ditto 4 wins). NFL has so much turnover that it seems impossible to predict much anything.

Hmm...
Home: I think we win vs. Arizona, St. Louis, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, and Tennessee…
Road: I think we win vs. St. Louis, San Francisco, Minnesota, and Houston.
So I guess that means I have us down for 10-6.

Sure. All you have to do is stop Chris Johnson and LenWhale, blow Haynesworth off the ball
every down, and throw away from Finnegan. Easy peezy.

None of our away games are on the East Coast.
So that’s good, though Indy is East Cost time half the time?
We have Jacksonville, Tennessee, and Tampa Bay all at home, so that’s nice.

We’ll be talking about it a lot next season.

I'm thinking 7-9.
But if Zona doesn’t keep Warner, maybe 8-8.

Zona would be crazy to let Warner go. It would be one thing if they weren't making the playoffs
leading to a discussion on when to get Leinart in there. However, this team was good this year and Warner was a major part of that.

I think I meant "If Zona doesn't have Warner"
As in, if Warner gets smart about his history of concussions and decides to retire.

I'm giddy that we got the NFC North next year.
8-10 wins isn’t out of the question at all.
Every day I hear about Seattle sports' failures. Every night I fall asleep to the sound of my own tears.
