Rocky Bernard, I can quit you.

According to the Seattle Times, Rocky Bernard has been arrested for domestic violence.

I sure hope that this turns out to not be the case because, well, I love Rocky and I love the Shakedown. However, if it is true that Rocky is guilty of this then, well, fuck off Rocky. I can put up with a lot of stuff from professional athletes (I still have an irrational love for Barry Bonds, even though he's a dick and most likely a cheater), but abuse is one thing I can't put up with.

Yikes.

If Rocky owns up to this and shows that it’s an isolated incident, I’ll cut him some slack. If this blows up into Jerramy Stevens proportions, then I think Ruskell is going to drop him.

So…how bout that Laws fellow in the first round?

Some ugly stuff.

Don’t know what else to say. Sometimes I wish professional athletes weren’t humans outside the game.

I miss Darby. :(

NO!

It's true

You ever wonder how AK’s sister got that way?

John

since you moved this to the front page, feel free to clean up the bad language.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Yeah, I grew up poor, am a Teamster.

Language doesn’t bother me none. I think it’s honest. To me, domestic violence is ugly. Beyond ugly. Brutal and base and vulgar. So, if you don’t want to change it, I don’t want to change it.

Word.

Point proven.

Like I said earlier

I’m willing to let Rock explain himself before casting any final judgment on him. If this is the one time he screws the pooch on an issue like this, then I’ll eventually come to forgive him. However he’s got a long hill to climb before he gets to that point with me.

At least the Seahawks are,

how they say, “competitive” each year.

Cheeseburgers are delicious.

by Coach Owens on Apr 21, 2008 4:29 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah

they were real compeitive in that green bay game.

Not to sound arrogant

but how does this differ from Locklear?

against Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke, whose ancestors clearly couldn't spell Hurlbeck properly.

um hi?

against Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke, whose ancestors clearly couldn't spell Hurlbeck properly.

by Christian on Apr 21, 2008 4:39 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Huh, I must have missed that whole thing.

I have no clue why I don’t remember this.

So, yeah, fuck Locklear too.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

by Phildopip on Apr 21, 2008 4:42 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He flat out choked her too.

And how does a chick who gets punched in the forehead, call the cops, let alone get up? I would still be asleep if he hit me.

by Christian on Apr 21, 2008 4:45 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Honestly I was thinking about this.

The Seahawks did let Lock stick around after that incident, so there is precedence for Rocky staying with the team.

Rocky better have one hell of an apology/explanation lined up, though.

by BrianL on Apr 21, 2008 4:54 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

There is no precendence for the Hawks releasing first time criminals though

Anthony Simmons and Rashad Moore were released to keep Rocky on the path, but really the Hawks have had Stevens…and thats it in terms of being an asshat.

Well Locklear hit his GF

a week before we were going to play in the Superbowl

Just saying…

Coach Owens = Scruffy's spell check

I keep on seeing this being said everywhere

The incident took place the night after the Redskins game.

by Robert on Apr 22, 2008 12:41 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You know I think your right

It was right before the NFC championship game

Can you blame the fans?

Everybody was in a frenzy that year. That doesn’t make it right, by any stretch, but you have to admit that 2005 was a special year.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Oh yeah I completly agree

I’ve said many times that the 2005 Seahawks are my equivalent of the 95 Mariners.

I think it's best to...

give everyone the benefit of the doubt and accept we’re not going to know much more for a while.

by John Morgan on Apr 21, 2008 4:56 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i agree

i mean, it all could be an honest mistake (highly doubtful, but still).

by stlcardinalsfang on Apr 21, 2008 5:11 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

If you read the police report..

everything comes across a bit shady.

There are a ton of holes in the victim’s story.

Rocky was talking with some girl, then randomly walks up to the victim and hits her in the face, then she just leaves? Really? You expect us to believe that is the whole story?

Ehh… I don’t know, the guy is able to crush Alex Smith’s shoulder, but he can’t even incapacitate a 21 year old female with a punch to the face? I doubt it was that vicious if that is the case.

We will see.

If this is goodbye Bernard

and the Seahawks release him outright, do the Seahawks have to eat any of his salary?

The Mebane pick is looking better and better. STAY HEALTHY TUBBS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

by marinator on Apr 21, 2008 9:56 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm not convinced this ist he end of Bernard.

Wait a week or two and see how this plays out. I’m guessing Rocky plays another season in Seattle.

by BrianL on Apr 21, 2008 10:17 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Me too.

This is the first time we’ve had any trouble with Rocky (Robert Eugene? I’m beginning to understand where all that pent up aggression comes from). Holmgren is in his last year and has no intention of losing a strong player on a D-line that is already light.
