Seahawks not likely to return to playoffs - Yahoo

The section:
Seattle Seahawks With coach Mike Holmgren entering his final year on the sideline and the team’s next head coach (Jim Mora) already working in the building, there’s a strange vibe coming out of Seattle. Shaun Alexander, the league MVP in 2005, is long gone, and the hole in the left side of the line that was created by the departure of Steve Hutchinson in 2006 is still there.
The rest of the team seems stagnant, in a division with three other squads that could be getting better. If only one of them delivers, the Seahawks will lose their hold on the NFC West.
My point of view:
Mike Wahle? New stud RBs? Team stagnant? Locking up team leaders, great defensive talent for a long time to come, qb in his prime, motivation of Holmgren's last hurrah...
I was shocked to read that paragraph.

It did, I don't deny that
It just gets real annoying to hear about it and sports writers seem to be using it as a cop out since they don’t watch any games out side of New England and New York.
Q: “Seattle lost tonight, what went wrong”
A: “umm…..ummm….HUTCHINSON THEY LOST HUTCHINSON, and Shaun Alexander has no heart”
FREE JEREMY REED!!
Yeah. It is two years removed, time to stop talking about that everybody!
Pretty bad he did not even acknowledge the signing of two-time Pro Bowl LG Mike Wahle. Not saying he is Hutch, but he is no slouch.
Terrible, terrible sports "journalism". This is so bad, the guy clearly has no idea
on the state of the Seahawks’ roster. You’d think we hadn’t signed any free agents the past two years..
We heard this crap last year
Let’s see,,,
The San Francisco From Behinders were suppose to win the division.
The Arizona Peckers were going to be second.
We were supposed to be neck and neck with the Rams.
Whoever wrote this fecal matter should be out of a job. Not even because of a lack of respect, but to declare that there is a “strange vibe” coming out of Seattle….
I guess if that vibe is being more excited for this season than I was last season, I suppose you could say that.
Can I buy you a fish sandwich?
Such crap
Why do journalists always assume the 49ers and the Cardinals are suddenly going to be good every year? The Rams will be better if they can keep Bulger and Jackson healthy, but they were an awful, 3-13 team last year that can only improve so much. The Cardinals were decent at 8-8, but with a locker room divided into Leinart and Warner camps and a lengthy history of never being better than ordinary I would imagine they’ll find a way to go backwards rather than forwards. I don’t even know where to start with the 49ers. My quick-cap review is shit QB, no offensive or defensive line, no WRs ( I know they signed Bruce, but he is a very, very old man). Unless they find a way to clone Patrick Willis a few times they have nothing to suggest an improvement. To top it all off, the reasons the idiot gives for us going backwards is that we have no Hutchinson or Alexander, a strikingly similar situation to last year, in which we made the playoffs.
Adding to the joint insanity and inanity of Florio's prior post:
He’s also projecting the Cardinals to miss the playoffs. Narrowing his pool of teams that can win the NFC West to: the Rams and the 49ers.
The Rams or the 49ers.
Really?
Can I have his job? I can guarantee that my half-assed analysis is better than his.
He over-values Shaun.
It’s more like he’s been gone since 2006.

Field Gulls - The SBN Seattle Seahawks Blog
Hutchinson did what for Minnesota last year?
The article was absurd. The author is a lazy git. They still think Seattle is in SE Alaska.
