Strahan Retires Officially
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan retired Monday after a 15-year NFL career with the New York Giants that was capped by a Super Bowl title four months ago.
Wasn't this expected? I know there was lots of talk of him retiring before this past season and with the Super Bowl win it seemed logical to me that it would come up again. Go out on top and all that.

Good news
This is good news for the hawks since we play NYG this year.
I am not sure the drop off to Kiwanuka is all that great though at this point in Strahan’s career. The Giants were using Kiwanuka at LB though last year to get him on the field (despite DE being his natural position). He was then injured later on in the year. I assume they will move him back to DE this year.
Whoever they use should look fine considering Osi is still lining up on the other side.

I think Strahan is significantly better at run defense
but I’m only basing that on what I’ve heard about Kiwanuka, I haven’t seen him play much at all.

That's sad.
Straham (as I always called him) was always one of my favorite players. He’ll leave a real gap in the Giants’ clubhouse!
