By "additional help" he means
that the decisions of who to draft are entirely mine, while he takes all the credit. By the way, nice to see all the JM homers out there salivating to agree that his team is the best, instead of the other three teams. Do any of you punks know who Dave Brown or Kenny Easley are? Hint: Largent is better than Galloway, and Brown is better than Shawn Springs,. Oh, and Walter is better than Hutch.
Trash talk!!!!

Skid Row Sliders
It would be handy if we could Rec this to the top.

I'm the Springfield Mudbones
...and we need to find SOME way to have a tournament between these four teams when the draft is complete.
Let’s get some real football nerds involved and have them run the numbers between these teams.. anyone have connections with PFR or Football Outsiders? :-]

Venture Brothers is one hell of a show
If only it didn’t take two years in between seasons. Still, downright quotable.

I'm the (19)76ers.
And, yes, I’m voting for my team being the best in the poll.
If people get slow on their picks or otherwise flout the rules of the draft (such as they are) I propose the following punishment: the violator must select Floyd Womack as his next selection, regardless of the remaining vacant position(s). So, if it’s the final round and I need only a WR and I miss a deadline or some such, Chop’s running go routes for the Sixers.

Sliders
Sliders reached for Mebane, but they’re by FAR the most complete team on both sides of the ball at this point. Not as many superstars as some others, but not as many weaknesses as some (cough Mudbones cough line).

Oh, UW Alex… You do not know my plans. The Mudbones offensive line will be just fine and dandy, thank you. :)

Zorn?
Two teams left needing QBs, and Zorn is still on the table. What he lacked in skill as a passer, he made up for in moxie and improvisation (and being on the same team as Largent). After Zorn, who’s the next QB to go? Dilfer?
by UW Alex on Jul 20, 2008 8:12 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
the slider have the best dline and the dave kriegs have the best oline right now but the question is who is going to qb dave’s team the skill positions need to be flused out love the warner and john l picks

Yeah
I love DKSHFTF’s o-line, but who are the weapons? Blades? Give me a break! And the Mudbones have 3 of the 4 best non-QB offensive skill players in team history, but no line, and will be lucky if they get Zorn. I think the Sliders have a slightly more complete offense than the 76s at this point.
On defense, everyone has a pretty good d-line and at least one or two good back 7 players. No one really stands out, though Robinson and Easley for the Mudbones will be good together.

Not entirely sure...
Why you would not consider the 2nd leading receiver in Seahawks history a weapon. As it stands, we’ll get the additional weapons as the draft continues. Those weapons are pretty useless if you don’t have an offensive line to either protect a quarterback or block for a running back.

Warren's still on the board, as is Ricky Watters
and I don’t think the dropoff to those guys is nearly what it is at other positions.

Okay
So maybe I was a little harsh on Blades, but come on – he’ll be triple-teamed every play. Honestly, I’d be proud to be you, though – you might be the first football fan ever to overvalue offensive line play.
In all seriousness, you will have a great o line, and a good running game because of it, but you can’t deny that you’ve made a clear decision to concentrate on certain positions at the expense of others, and you don’t have as complete or well-rounded a team as some of the others.
by UW Alex on Jul 21, 2008 3:13 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yawn.
You’re absolutely right, we are the only team right now that has concentrated on some positions at the expense of others. It’s not like other teams only have 1 offensive lineman total, or still have only 1 wide receiver, or only have 1 DB, or only 1 LB. Now let’s remember that every team will be complete by the end of the draft, and we’ll see how the teams look at that point.

I personally believe...
That it is virtually impossible to overvalue offensive line play. I am definitely biased in that way.
I can also admit that one can see more holes easily on the team as it currently is constituted. Much of it was on purpose and will be clearer as the draft progresses.

I'm surprised that DKSHFTF
is last with that o-line, and the playmakers on D. Even if they miss out on Zorn and have to go with Kitna they’d be ok behind those blockers.

I went with the Sliders this time
but the Factory’s second in my book; I think the other guys went RB much too early, and it hurts them overall.
by The Ancient Mariner on Jul 21, 2008 12:04 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, RB is about the only major difference I see between the teams...
Except that I think my D-Line blows everyone else out of the water. People think Mebane is just a big-bodied plugger, but kid had 7 sacks his junior season. If he can add a step he has legitimate pass rush potential. I accept I’m getting a LoJack penalty, but I’m pretty sure this group if ever assembled would be among the greatest lines ever.
by John Morgan on Jul 21, 2008 12:12 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
The deciding factor
in my vote was that I thought the disparity between DKSHFTF’s d-line and your d-line was not as great as the disparity between your o-line and their o-line. Tatupu made it tough though.
by Nate Dogg on Jul 21, 2008 2:40 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Honestly
with that DT pairing, you could have a DE rotation of Larry, Curly and Moe and you’d still get push. That’s the main reason I think you’re ahead—I’m as much a believer in Bane as you are.
