Guard play has not been a tremendous strength of our Seattle Seahawks over the course of the past thirty years, with Hutch being the only true superstar we have had at that position. However, Pete Kendall remains somewhat overlooked for his 5 years of work on the Hawks offensive line from 1996-2000. During his time here we had a pretty decent running game, with Chris Warren, Ricky Watters, an AFC title victory and a horrible loss to Dan Marino and the Dolphins. He basically was Hutch before Hutch, anchoring that LG position with Walter Jones at LT. The left side of our line now boasts Walter Jones, Pete Kendall, and Kevin Mawae. Look familiar? Say hello to the 1997 Seahawks offensive line, which helped a past-his-prime Warren Moon boost our passing game to the best in the league, with an above-average rushing attack as well. |

Is that Kelly Stouffer, with a little play-action, behind Kendall? Oh my.

Retro unis
Are we ever going to be able to do that? I’d like to see the chagrined beak (as opposed to the new, angry beak) gracing the helmets again for a game. Admittedly, going back five years or whatever it is stretches the definition of retro, but still. These old photos are making me nostalgic.
