Did you know that the man ranked after Sam McCullum, 8th on Seattle’s all-time receiving list by receptions, is Mack Strong? McCullum is the last really good receiver left and I’ll be damned if I fill out the split end role with Koren Robinson. McCullum was a great Seahawk when the phrase itself sounded like an oxymoron. Sure, there was Largent, but for six seasons McCullum provided the explosive cross to Largent's steady jab. Less talented but faster. Never great but often very good. In 1980, on a team that recorded only 3,494 total yards passing, McCullum received for 874 yards. That year his teammates voted him their MVP. Sam McCullum, a good player with some peaks and valleys that’s too often forgotten as part of the Hawk’s Dark Ages. |

Funny, I was just thinking about him
when UW Alex was ragging on crushedoptimist/Eegah about “no weapons” . . . I expected them to go for McCullum first, though, since you already had the deep threat in Galloway. Your WR tandem would seriously scare people.

I think players who can stretch the field have value above their receiving numbers.
As silly as it sounds for something that’s just an exercise, I do have a plan for how I envision my team.

Not silly
Eegah and I have that kind of vision as well, which is why we’ve waited some on a few of these receivers. Hey, it’s part of the fun, right?
And also, pairing that kind of speed together is frightening. I like your offense a lot.

I agree
Like I said, I just thought they’d beat you to him.
And I’d certainly hope you have a plan—where’s the fun in this (either doing or watching) without one?

First Touchdown
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t McCullum score the first-ever regular season touchdown for the Hawks?
Against St. Louis Cardinals on September 12, 1976 via pass from Zorn.
