That's a huge bummer.

What did he do to his back exactly?

I'm back to liking midgets too much.

Holmgren on Schmitt:

“He is a young man and has a back like mine. So it’s not good.”

Poor kid.

Long snapper is a bad position for you if you have a bad neck/back.

Man, I'm always sad when rookies don't even get to take a regular season snap

Because of an injury like he suffered. Probably won’t walk or move the same again and it will only get worse.

Pull through Tyler!

Give me the home, where Buffalo roams, and watch Jones get a hundred yard game.

IR

You get a superbowl ring if youre on the IR tho right? He will always have that…

Bringin' the outside heat.

As long as he's not cut from the roster, he will have a ring should we make it.

Give me the home, where Buffalo roams, and watch Jones get a hundred yard game.

Backs

Curious that all the poking and prodding by team docs that goes into the draft didn’t catch this. A 25 year old doesn’t usually get the back of a 60 year old man from one injury…

Agreed

because if this isn’t a built-in problem, it’s hard to explain.

Sounds like after all the physicals

they still just missed it

That's what I find weird.

How come I can’t find one report of what he did to his back? He must have had the bad back when he was drafted, cause there really isn’t one report explaining how he was injured. A real loss though, he was ridiculously precise,

Walter Jones, you were the greatest, most dominant player I've ever seen at any position. It's been an honor to be your fan.
