Good Work Being Done By Brian McIntyre At Seahawks.net

All preseason, Mr. McIntyre has been doing a fine job breaking down Seattle's formations and personnel groupings. He points out something I noticed as well, Seattle employed a Dime package for the first time on Monday. Thanks in part to its athletic linebackers, each capable in coverage, Seattle doesn't employ the Dime too often, but it was an interesting look and one they actually ran a big time blitz from.

Check it out.

I loved his formation breakdowns

I guess I should know this but didn’t- Peterson plays LDE in nickel situations.

I was just about to comment on that but you already have. Interesting.

Also, I thought some packages would feature Tapp and Jackson in same sets. In no packages did I see them together. The combo of choice to rush the passer seems to be LoJack, Kerney, and JP. I’m interested to see if they will mix things up or will this be it? Seems that Tapp didn’t get much run that last game.

I wonder if Tapp-Bernard-Jackson-Kerney and JP rushing from a LB spot will be a regular-season item. That is exciting to think about.

Regarding just the D-Line, that could be similar to what the Giants did using Tuck/Osi/Strahan to enhance their front-4 rush…it seemed to work. :)

What do you think, John?

Jackson has already been tapped to play inside on passing downs.

Tapp-Bernard-Jackson-Kerney

But I think they’d hold the linebackers in case of screen/draw.

Yes, I realized LoJack would could/would slide inside on passing-downs (one of his strengths as a prospect), but was confused about Tapp not being in there during those times.

and, no pun intended, right? :P

Sorry, didn't understand the question.

I guess I don’t know why Tapp wasn’t used in those formations. There could be all kinds of reasons, really.

Walter Jones, you were the greatest, most dominant player I've ever seen at any position. It's been an honor to be your fan.
