Any updates

On Koren Robinson? Are people still thinking 10-15 plays today? Anything else of note going on?

by jimmimoose on Sep 21, 2008 9:59 AM PDT   0 recs

I feel good.

The Rams aren’t the Bengals, they don’t really have an excuse for how they’ve played.

I really liked the run calls with Julius Jones last week, and he was running motivated too.

I'm paying a lot of attention to the Cardinals game to see if they're for real

So far they’re off to a bad start and are down 7-0 to Washington.

Edge is running well

But Campbell is really looking good, completing a lot of shorter passes.

Only one kicker is making this team and his name is Chris Hansen

SopCast...

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Seems like an online way to see games, but it’s obviously backdoor and I haven’t read any straight explanations on it.

Wheres the game online?

10-0 Washington, Edge fumbles

Cardinals defense looks poor.

oh c'mon buffalo

only down 6-0 to Oakland right now, but….

by Will Kier on Sep 21, 2008 10:48 AM PDT   0 recs

God, the Raiders are playing sloppy

There’s no reason why the Bills should be down 6-0 right now.

FAIL: tom coughlin

Giants: Plexico sacrifices his body for the TD, refs fail to call it, but on replay its a TD. Tom doesn’t even challenge it.. how embarrassing.

by paul2 on Sep 21, 2008 11:10 AM PDT   0 recs

That wasn't a sure touchdown.

I don’t think there’s enough to overturn it, the left foot looks to be on the line.

by BrianL on Sep 21, 2008 11:11 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah

Not 100% but if thats not a challenge I don’t know what is….how many times do they really use both challenges? that’d be an interesting stat- I bet its not often.

Cardinals get a TD off of Boldin

I think when the Hawks play the Giants they have to use receiver screens

Bengals are doing it very well.

Brian Russell is worse than you.

by SSreporters on Sep 21, 2008 11:15 AM PDT   0 recs

Screens

I think screens in general. The Giants rely on their DE penetration very heavily, and screen passes would definitely help. Then again, screen passes would have helped against the Bills too, but I didn’t see them then.

by cashless on Sep 21, 2008 11:16 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Agreed

@ Paul2, the screen would be other receivers and maybe one tackle if you’re lucky.

Brian Russell is worse than you.

by SSreporters on Sep 21, 2008 11:18 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Q

So …in a reciever screen what becomes the ‘screen’ , if anything?

by paul2 on Sep 21, 2008 11:17 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Well

Every play is different. Whoever is the furthest player to his side(a TE, another WR) is going to head out to block the defender who is manned up on the WR, and their are offensive linemen headed out to head off the linebackers and possibly safeties, but usually the first blocker(WR or TE) springs the WR free on an outside screen and he makes other defenders miss. It seems to happen with 2 or 3 players split out to one side usually, to give the player a couple lead blockers.

An inside screen sometimes happens where it’s a slower developing screen with a WR(similar to a TE or HB screen) and the WR runs in towards the middle of the field while the QB drops back. The OL heads out to the second level, allowing the DL to get past and the WR catches the ball behind the LOS, then turns upfield picking his way through the clutter of blockers. I haven’t really seen that in the NFL I don’t think, WR screens don’t happen that often, and the ones I’ve seen are on the outside with a TE or WR out their with them.

Inactives:

Koren Robinson
Brandon Coutu
Seneca Wallace
Maurice Morris
Mansfield Wrotto
Red Bryant
Deion Branch
Bobby Engram

It’s probably for the best that Koren’s out.

Good on Holmgren for keeping K-Rob out.

Get him into shape before giving him snaps.

by BrianL on Sep 21, 2008 11:56 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Yep. I'd say let him sit out the next two weeks

to get his knee totally into shape, as Willis is doing an able job, but w/e.

Ronnie Brown having a fantasy wet dream game.

Just threw for a TD to go along with his 3 rushing TDs

by Matthew on Sep 21, 2008 11:57 AM PDT   0 recs

With Ronnie Brown going against me, ...

I’m pretty much doomed to an 0-3 start this season.

Let’s hope that the Seahawks avoid such a miserable fate.
