De-lurking after over a year

Name: Billy Everyteen, formerly Manteo

City: Brooklyn

Fav Hawk of All Time: Jim Zorn – love it or leave it

Fav Band: Afghan Whigs

Fav Movie: Amazon Women on the Moon. Seriously, I have no idea

Fav TV show: The Wire

Interesting fact: There is loud sex going on in the apartment above me as I write this. Wait, wait – the squeaking is getting faster – this should be over soon.

Anyway, I’ve lurked for a while after being an active commentator when the site was new – my current job doesn’t allow much commenting so I’ve gotten out of the habit. But I still dig you guys and I think that John Morgan is dreamy.

And now the squeaking has stopped. That was fast.

"He even tried to pimp it," Floyd said. "He's got no pimp." Said Wright: "I don't even know what that means."

Minus the Bear put on a good show.

As did Elliott Smith, but he was so shitfaced by the encore that he broke his guitar string attempting to tune it.

i’ve seen MTB 3 times, very excellent. they were very good at bumbershoot. and you actually got to see elliott smith when he was alive?!? of course, i’m only 15…. so i guess he did play around here quite a bit in the late 90’s/early 00’s

Dave

From Queen Anne, in LA now.

Not quite favorites, ‘cause my tastes are pretty impermanent, but here’s some shit I enjoy:

Drama: Mad Men, Dexter, West Wing, Six Feet Under, Northern Exposure; Cop show: The Wire; Medical drama: House; Teen: Friday Night Lights; Sitcom: How I Met Your Mother, Office, 30 Rock; Reality: Alaska Experiment; Cartoon: Venture Bros; Late-night: The Colbert Report

Beirut, Ryan Adams, and Ratatat. Also The National, Bob Dylan, assorted post-rock bands like Explosions in the Sky and This Will Destroy You. Plenty of other random bands to mix it up. Elliot Smith, Talking Heads, M. Ward, Wilco, The Roots, Girl Talk, William Elliot Whitmore, Elvis Costello, The Band, Cat Power, Beach Boys.

I also enjoy the football stylings of Becks and Tats, and I like the cut of Burly’s jib. Danzig’s clips have also made me a Forsett fan.

Fun fact: I didn’t watch football as a kid. I’m a n00b.

No way.

As far as Batman is concerned. I much prefer Elfman’s Herrmann-esque score to Zimmer’s drone. Course, I’m also a fan of Elliot Goldenthal’s work.
