Is Plack gone?

http://rodpedersen.blogspot.com/

Saw this link on Seahawks addicts, not sure how credible it is, but it's there none the less.

Not sure what to make of this, Plack didn't look very good on Sunday but that might have not been his fault.  Plack was awesome in 2006, struggled in 2007 and was hurt at the start of 2008, so I think it is possible the Hawks have decided to move on.

What is everyone's take on this?

A place to bury strangers.

Just heard the NFL punter from Regina signed a two-year deal today with the Seattle Seahawks.

what about hodges? does anyone know if he got signed somewhere?

I was the poor bastard that had Tom Brady on my Field Gulls fantasy football team.

Unless Plack is still really hurting

I don’t get this.

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

CUT!!!!!

We shouldn’t have even gone into the season with him. He SUCKED last year. Snapping issues or not his punts were incredibly short. Plack was arguably the worst punter in the league last year and we have not made nearly enough of an issue of it.

A lot of you are asking “What about Hodges?”

This is because Seahawks Insider (which I am guessing you all read) was saying he was doing great. You may remember the news tribune blog saying Logan Payne was a quality receiver too. That blog is ridiculously overoptimistic about every player all the time. Maybe it’s because the glowing write ups get them better access. Maybe not. Who knows? One thing is certain though: The facts provided by Seahawks Insider are reliable, the interpretations are garbage. If they say Hodges was punting, believe it, if they say he was doing it well, wait and see.

In the preseason Hodges was not good. He seemed to lack the ability to punt a ball a great distance, which would sort of limit his potential…
Plack’s two preseason games were bad and average.

I suppose the team felt like the ‘average’ was what they would get going forward?

Judging by how long it took to cut Shaun I highly doubt we will lose guys like Plack and Russell nearly fast enough. They have both sucked it up for far too long.

I am not sure what else is out there at punter. At safety we have better talent sitting on the PS.

If your looking at AVG punt yards to judge Plack

Then your way off base. Plack is still one of the beter punting technicians in the league.

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Using AVG Punting yards

is like using ERA. Just too many intangibles outside of his own ability.

Why would the team wait all preseason for him to heal.

Cut a semi-productive punter and then cut Plack after one game?

TSN is reporting it also

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Man

I thought Placks was pretty good up until this game. What happened?

Maybe its a message?

They’re sending to the players?
