Trainwreck...?
Question:
Are we there yet?

I think we might be. For a team that considered itself a Super Bowl contender, the Seahawks are looking very much like a squad that will be fortunate to get to 9-7. I was lucky to be busy with network duties in San Diego and didn't see any of this debacle.
What happens now?
Bernard and "Big Play Only" Babs are back today, so at least two moves must be made. One will be Burleson to IR, the other Cuoto to waiver/PS. But, they need to add at least one veteran receiver. Joe Horn, possibly. Not exactly a Ruskell guy, but would seem to be the best talent avaiable. Who goes then? Babin? Please not Forsett. Someone good has to get cut so they can carry the rehabbing Branch and Engram on the 53.
Say goodbye to the Super Bowl, Hawk fans. We had our chance in XL and it looks like that was it for some time. A playoff appearance would be quite an achievement out of this team. Personally, I'm looking forward to Mora the Younger. I like Holmgren a lot but it's time to get some youth and energy behind these guys.
Now BEAT THE 9ers!!! Please.
On a personal note, I talked to Eugene Robinson on Sunday. He does color for the Carolina Panthers radio broadcasts. #41 was stoked to hear from an old Seahawks fan that remembered when he was patrolling the defensive backfield in the Kingdome. Really nice guy, and looks like he could run out there right now.

Really? We've spent the last 2 days trying to back people from the cliff because of overreaction.
And you come and write this and you didn’t even watch the game.
Jaguars, Chargers, Colts and Hawks were all SB pre season picks. All lost on Sunday (Colts and Hawks got handled) Bad weeks happen so chill the fuck out.
I swear to god if one more person says “Joe Horn” I’m gonna flip
You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Actually we can say the Jaguars got handled
Gave up 7 sacks and lost both of there starting Guards for the season.

Excuse me
Did someone say Joe Horn? I think your right Lefty, he probably is the solution!

Come on.
I was lucky to be busy with network duties in San Diego and didn’t see any of this debacle.
Say goodbye to the Super Bowl, Hawk fans. We had our chance in XL and it looks like that was it for some time. A playoff appearance would be quite an achievement out of this team.
Don’t you feel dumb after saying both things?
by John Morgan on Sep 9, 2008 9:28 AM PDT 0 recs
No.
Why would I feel dumb by stating the fact that I was working a national television broadcast of another NFL game?
As for the playoff appearance: that’s just my opinion. If the Hawks make it to the Super Bowl I will be MORE than thrilled to meet in you in Tampa and buy as many beers as your heart desires. I was not able to watch this game, and for that I feel fortunate, because I would have been ripping my f-ing hair out of my scalp. I am able to form a cogent opinion from reading the game stories, notes, and gamebook play-by-play.

It's a bad idea to say a team isn't making the playoffs after one game...
no matter what, but to say I didn’t watch the game but I’m sure it’s an indication that Seattle is not making the playoffs is dumb. And you’re not dumb, so I’m calling you on it.

Didn't say they weren't making the playoffs.
I said:

I was not ABLE to watch the game, no. But to say I’m therefore completely uninformed, and unable to develop an opinion based on all the other information available on the internets, is incorrect. Regardless, sorry for contributing to the Neg around here. It just makes me sick to see my hometown team and franchise, with so much going for it, come out and get steamrolled so thoroughly.

I HATE bandwagon fans who jump off after one game
That is all.

Bandwagon? STFU.
Diehard fan since 1976, guy. I’m not jumping off anything.

Maybe that's not what you meant
but re-read your own words…
Say goodbye to the Super Bowl, Hawk fans. We had our chance in XL and it looks like that was it for some time.
I do understand the emotion, but I think it is a bit misplaced.

Sorry if that's the way it reads.
Don’t need to tell you how hard it is to watch the squad develop over the long offseason, then have the season open so horribly. Also the first real game after the debacle in Green Bay. And the Sonics move, which I literally can’t even talk about.
I will always have highest hopes for the Hawks, believe me.

NO MORE overreaction.
Damn, we have 2 easy opponents at HOME, and then get Mo, Lock, Branch, and Engram back after the bye.
