Here's the way I figure it

Every year, every team has a certain number of hardships they have to endure.  A few significant injuries, an upsetting loss where they had hopes of victory, a bizarre move by the FO that doesn't really make sense at the time.

The Seahawks have decided to test our spirits by going through all their bad luck at the same time.  We're getting blasted from all angles over the last three days, and it's definitely been trying.  But we'll rally, pull together, and from adversity we'll bounce back and still be a quality team.

It'll be a hell of a lot more satisfying to win this division when we're overcoming so many hurdles, not just winning by default.   From the hardships will come our rewards, and the rewards shall be all the more sweet.

(And before anyone gets too worked up, I know there isn't a limit to good or bad fortune within a season, I'm just playing the good humor man here.)

Thats kind of how I see it too

althought the Sims injury out of no where kind of rocked my optimism. Hopefully we’re just getting all of the injuries and bad luck out of the way now and we’ll go into the post season with a head of steam. 9-7 will probably be good enough to win the division, so we can take our lumps for a bit.

I'm on board with this.

We hold serve at home…. maybe drop one or two. Win a few on the road (Thank you NFC West) and hit our stride just in time to….. win our home playoff game….. then win in Philly…… then Dallas….. and…. ahhhhhhhhh this is getting harder to fake.

I'd like to kick Josh Brown in the privates!

Poor Mike Holmgren

His last year and he has to deal with all this bullcrap?

But I digress, I sincerely believe that the Seahawks will make it through these injuries. It’s what good teams do: be resilient through adversity. Let us not forget how the Giants won the Super Bowl. In the beginning they were a total mess, but they came through and won all the playoff games on the road. I’m not saying that the Seahawks will win the Superbowl, but there is always reason to be optimistic.

Speaking of Pork Chop,

Who is gonna be our RG? If we trust John Morgan’s film work(and I think most of us do) we know that Wrotto is not ready to protect Hasselbeck when he drops back. Steve Vallos is on the roster as a backup C , but not overly strong against good DTs. Is Pork Chop gonna start at RG?

Willis is a possibility if Locklear is healthy

You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Is he?

I thought Lock wasn’t going to be ready this week, and possibly not until after the bye.

Do we have a single injury on defense? Our offense is in shambles, good god. Our starting QB, RB, 4 WR’s, and 2 O-linemen are all hurt or out.

CJ Wallace is an injury to our defense.

What about Starting

Chris Spencer at RG and Vallos at center? Kills two birds with one stone – the occupation of the position and the line calls before the snap handled by the preseason leader while the real starter gets his chops back.

I was the poor bastard that had Tom Brady on my Field Gulls fantasy football team.

Spencer is to small to play Guard

Especially RG in the WCO. He got owned in pass protection as a LG.
