Anyone else just love Chad Pennington?

I'm going with the Dolphins
because of Pennington

Brady Quinin is fine, he's jacked/ripped
Hasselbeck? Makes me think the products aren’t working… Unless they’re going for injury prevention or injury recovery, in which case I’m sold.
That was my point
I’m not very clever this morning. Quinn is absolutely ripped. Hass looks like, well, me.
Depends what you like

Eh... it's a 'nutrtion' company
and their most popular product is protein shakes, but they have bars, fat burners, energy things, and a bunch of other random stuff.
Gotcha
I have a giant costco pack of their protein shake. Its not to bad.

Leftwich?
Leftwich, Big Ben, and Pennington all went to the same conference right? So I guess their schools aren’t that small.
Marshall produces a lot of NFL talent though
I’m not sure you can Marshall to Delaware and Miami of Ohio

Cutler?
Vandy’s a small school and they were a terrible team, but Cutler’s turned out quite nicely.

Just a one year ridiculously expensive insurance policy.
Isn't there a significant bump in the cap this year?

Him and Polamalu.
Both seem to know what play is going to happen and where to be, and both seem to be uber athletic when they need to be.
Sanders doesn't have the same ball skills

Has a similar defense presence, at least when it comes to the run game.
They go from a bottom 5 run defense to a top 5 it seems.
Sanders is better that Polamalu

I think Phil Simms basically is on point. B’More is just better. They’re forcing Miami to play a little faster than they want and to be perfect. Miami’s getting worked by a superior team. No shame in that I suppose.

Not sure why… 84 dollars for a book on private equity?
squint until Mays is wearing purple and in #20.
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!! I DRINK IT UP!!
I really wish Mays were an awesome safety
then I’d have no qualms at all about taking him 4th overall, but I just don’t see him being anything more than a Roy Williams type (not in terms of how they play, just overratedness, tools are there, but the smarts/decision making aren’t)
Could just move Josh Wilson to safety
or draft Pegues, Moore, Chung, move Grant to free safety, etc.
I kind of like both teams
So I’m indiferrent. Though if I were a stupid irrational fan, I suppose I might dislike Minnesota for the Steve Hutchinson thing.
I hate Adrian Peterson

haha good call.
Though it’s still pretty funny.
I completely disagree,
I couldn’t even sit through Napoleon Dynamite. Superbad was good, but its definitely overrated. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was hilarious. Definitely one of my favorite movies, partially due to the unprecedented pairing of two absurdly hot leading ladies.
by SeaTownBlueDevil on Jan 4, 2009 8:36 PM PST up reply actions
super late reply
just to mention how freaking ridiculously hot Mila Kunis was in that movie. I wanted to jump into the screen.
I thought the writing, especially the early stuff between Evan and Seth
was pretty solid, that everything with McLovin was terrible and that the second half of the movie was mediocre.
From the time the script was first written to it being made
was almost 10 years. It feels really disjointed at the end. All the yelling, come on.

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are the Hawk and DJ of football.
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!! I DRINK IT UP!!
The only thing worse than this is
Joe Buck and Tim McCarver during baseball’s postseason.
that's aneurysm inducing
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!! I DRINK IT UP!!
McCarver seems to feel if he says it slow enough
it makes whatever nonsense he’s spewing relevant, somehow
I like John Miller fine.
Joe Morgan is the problem with that duo.
I dislike him. and the whole setup.
Why have a ‘knowledgable’ ex-player with a guy who knows very little about sports (or maybe just baseball) and asks dumb questions? Is it so we will think Morgan is so smart and so the casual fan can relate to Miller?
Miller is pretty good on his broadcasts for the San Francisco Giants.
It’s his ESPN stuff with Joe Morgan that’s awful.
I've only seen him, or paid attention to him
when he’s with Morgan. So the two are, in my mind, inseparable.
I really, really hate when commentators go "he should have run a longer pattern"
Teams practice these plays hundreds of times, it’s not like they get into the huddle and go “hey, this time, run an EIGHT yard out”.
well, it was the first one of the game, so I'm not sure how that factors in.
Notice it worked even though the opposing D isn’t really scared of Tavaris at all.
How is Jerad Allen playing?

Do the Giants have a good safety?
Who’s the Titan’s safety? They’re both good I’m sure, just not big names I’m assuming.
I <3 Kenny Phillips

And Chris Hope and Michael Griffin are, well, Chris Hope and Michael Griffin.
K, I know both Hope and Griffin.
And Phillips. Not sure why I brain-farted there.
Too bad there isn’t a really good FA safety. It would be like turning Vidro into Ortiz or Sexson into Teixeira.
Thank God.

I can here the whining from here…. “WAAAAHHH HE SUXORS HE WAS ON THE LIONS”.
They may have a point.
what does?
Isn’t it his job to help pick the coaches?
why so serious?
Marinelli is a great fit. He was the Dline coach for Tampa Bay during their run of greatness and Ruskell has familiarity with him. Also, he’s known for his ability to develop D-Linemen.
hmmm i'd be happy with that.
you have a link?
NFL Network reports he is "considering taking a job in Seattle with the Seahawks"
So, of course reading into it a bit. But who considers a job not offered?
seattlepi.nwsource.com/football/
Clare PI blog has the blurb
Worst defense in modern history
Obviously it’s not all his fault, but any indication that a player developed or he recognized defensive talent would be nice. Also, it’s further indication Seattle is moving towards a T2, which is dumb.
I see why that could mean major renovations....
Our 2nd/3rd corners don’t seem particularly apt at short zones/tackling.
The system should be built around the talent
Tatupu and Tapp sort of fit and that’s about it. Obviously, if you have Simeon Rice and Sapp or Tommie Harris and Urlacher, then you build a Tampa 2. Seattle has a lot of rounded players probably best fit for a zone blitzing scheme like Jim Johnson or what Marshall tried to do. I mean, cut to the quick here, a T2 needs to pressure with its front four, does anyone really think Seattle’s front four can consistently pressure quarterbacks?
John,
When do organizations initially start making changes in the off-season? I know obviously after the super bowl and pro bowl probably but when do teams normally start making some roster changes/ free agent pickups?
Sorry for this random question, just wondering.
