Anyone else just love Chad Pennington?

Hasselbeck is an EAS sponsored athlete?
He has the body of an average man who still plays sports…
by LantermanC on Jan 4, 2009 10:35 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
Hass and Brady Quinn
He’s been doing radio spots for them for a while, I saw his tv ad yesterday.
by Dukeshire on Jan 4, 2009 10:38 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Brady Quinin is fine, he's jacked/ripped
Hasselbeck? Makes me think the products aren’t working… Unless they’re going for injury prevention or injury recovery, in which case I’m sold.
by LantermanC on Jan 4, 2009 10:40 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
That was my point
I’m not very clever this morning. Quinn is absolutely ripped. Hass looks like, well, me.

Hopefully not the abvoe the shoulders area....
Hass is one… not-so-good-looking dude.

Eh... it's a 'nutrtion' company
and their most popular product is protein shakes, but they have bars, fat burners, energy things, and a bunch of other random stuff.

Gotcha
I have a giant costco pack of their protein shake. Its not to bad.

Any Joe Flacco's/Ben Roethlisberger's in this year's draft?
Big smartish QB from smaller schools?
by LantermanC on Jan 4, 2009 10:44 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
I'm not sold on Flacco yet.
Can’t think of anyone that compares really. Big, big arm, small school…
by John Morgan on Jan 4, 2009 10:48 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Leftwich?
Leftwich, Big Ben, and Pennington all went to the same conference right? So I guess their schools aren’t that small.

Cutler?
Vandy’s a small school and they were a terrible team, but Cutler’s turned out quite nicely.
by SeaTownBlueDevil on Jan 4, 2009 11:00 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Is Vanderbilt small?
They’re a regularly ranked team from the SEC.

Vanderbilt is half the size of the second smallest school in the SEC
and they’re generally awful

Hey look Adrian putting the ball on the ground
You may gain some yards on the ground, but eventually Lofa will end up biting you in the ass.

Brian Dawkins is another very good safety

Do the Giants have a good safety?
Who’s the Titan’s safety? They’re both good I’m sure, just not big names I’m assuming.

Kenny Philips, Michael Johnson and James Butler are all good
And Chris Hope and Michael Griffin are, well, Chris Hope and Michael Griffin.

K, I know both Hope and Griffin.
And Phillips. Not sure why I brain-farted there.
Too bad there isn’t a really good FA safety. It would be like turning Vidro into Ortiz or Sexson into Teixeira.
by LantermanC on Jan 4, 2009 2:19 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
That would be like... Vidro into Dunn
which I’d gladly take.

Marinelli is a great fit. He was the Dline coach for Tampa Bay during their run of greatness and Ruskell has familiarity with him. Also, he’s known for his ability to develop D-Linemen.

by Dukeshire on Jan 4, 2009 4:12 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
Worst defense in modern history
Obviously it’s not all his fault, but any indication that a player developed or he recognized defensive talent would be nice. Also, it’s further indication Seattle is moving towards a T2, which is dumb.

I see why that could mean major renovations....
Our 2nd/3rd corners don’t seem particularly apt at short zones/tackling.
by djafrot on Jan 4, 2009 4:30 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
The system should be built around the talent
Tatupu and Tapp sort of fit and that’s about it. Obviously, if you have Simeon Rice and Sapp or Tommie Harris and Urlacher, then you build a Tampa 2. Seattle has a lot of rounded players probably best fit for a zone blitzing scheme like Jim Johnson or what Marshall tried to do. I mean, cut to the quick here, a T2 needs to pressure with its front four, does anyone really think Seattle’s front four can consistently pressure quarterbacks?

John,
When do organizations initially start making changes in the off-season? I know obviously after the super bowl and pro bowl probably but when do teams normally start making some roster changes/ free agent pickups?
Sorry for this random question, just wondering.
