Go Broncos!
Get revenge for Super Bowl XII!
Yeah, I know we're all rooting for Denver to have the worst record possible, but let's face reality: When an NFC rival plays an AFC team, we should ALWAYS root for the NFC team to lose. It may seem unlikely at the moment, but we might end up fighting Dallas for a wild card berth. A loss at Mile High could be the difference between Dallas finishing 9-7 or 8-8, which might be the difference between the Seahawks making the playoffs or not.
I'd much rather see Dallas fall to 2-2 than see Denver fall to 3-1, but what do y'all think? Obviously, the best case scenario is a scoreless tie festooned with blown ACLs, concussions and high ankle sprains.
As always, there's more on my home blog: Dave Krieg's Strike Beard.

Seconded.
The Hawks have their “fuck you” moment with Dallas (Romo fumbling the snap, failing to run for TD).
I hope the Broncos go down hard.
The demise of the Broncos in '09 is our future. Pray hard.

tingly
i was sitting 8 rows back on the left side 5 yard line for that game. Romo got tackled right in front of my face. I still get all tingly every time someone mentions that game. I’m tingly right now.

Just to clarify
I find Denver’s draft pick more tangible than a scenario where them winning helps Seattle back into the playoffs. Also, Bronco hate has gotten into my blood.

Fuck the Broncos, II
I’m hoping for a scoreless tie actually.

I wanna see a blowout
I know — it’s the Cowboys, but I wanna see the collective spirits of the Broncos and Broncos fans get crushed when they realize they still have a scrub team.

One or the other, I’m sure.

I care more about our situation as well.
I’m actually not even a Dallas hater right now simply because I want Romo to do well. I’m tired of all these random Cowboys greats calling him overrated. It almost seems like they just want their one day of fame. Sure he may be overrated, but the dude has been pretty damn good, all things considered. Also, he can’t control if people call him a superstar (though how many people are actually calling him that?). For a period of 8 or so games, he was pretty damn awesome though, not only stats-wise but highlight wise.

Really, guys?
I hate the Broncos too, but jeez.. If we actually miss the playoffs because Dallas beats Denver, won’t this all seem incredibly stupid?
Let’s not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

I think the Eagles and Giants are really good.
So I’m not sure it would matter. Whereas a Broncos loss would definitely matter.

I'll tell you what
When week 16 rolls around I’ll retroactively root for the Cowboys to lose to our other first round draft pick, when I know the Seahawks are fighting for a wildcard berth. In the meantime, Steve Largent’s broken, Oklahoman jaw is rooting for a team from Texas to win, and so am I!
by John Edwards on Oct 1, 2009 3:39 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
No it wont!
That first rounder could mean the difference between a guy and a superstar Would anyone trade a first round loss in this years playoffs for someone who’ll dominate for years?
Curry or Jennings? Thats the difference between high in the round and low in the round.

If Dallas beating Denver in week 4 is the game that keeps the Hawks out of the playoffs, so be it.
While I don’t want to give up on this season, the benefit of a Denver loss is much more palpable than a Dallas loss.
by abender20 on Oct 1, 2009 2:50 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
There's no doubt about it.
Further more; first he (Peel) tells us he respects Bronco fans, later suggests we lock arms with Browns fans because they don’t like the Donkeys ether and now he’s rooting for a week 4 victory by Denver because maybe we’ll be fighting Dallas in December for a wild card spot. Sorry folks, but fuck that noise. Johnny can be a closet Bronco fan without me. I’m not reading anymore of his crap, here.
I'm gonna go calm submissive on your ass.

I don't see any Wildcard team coming out of the NFC West
I’m going to root for the Donks to lose and for Romo to look incompetent in the win.
Mike Wahle(OG), Walter Jones(LT), Chris Spencer(C), Marcus Trufant(CB), Deion Branch(WR), Sean Locklear(OT), Brandon Mebane(DT), Leroy Hill(LB), Lofa Tatupu(LB), Josh Wilson(CB), Justin Griffith(FB), Matt Hasselbeck (QB)

I want to see Denver go on a 6 game losing streak
I expected Denver to be 2-1 right now. 3-0 sucks. But I still believe they are going to hit the hard part of their schedule and go down hard and fast. But we shall see. I give their defense some props, but Cleveland and Oakland aren’t exactly great teams. They did pretty well against Cinci, but it still took a once in a lifetime fluke play to get the win.
I’d like a couple of fairly high picks to continue to build our defense. We need a strong DE next year, a real stud to replace Kerney. We need a strong safety or O-line guy to bolster those units. I’d rather have a few down years to get competitive again quick. We’ve been in semi-rebuild mode for a while now and we need to continue getting reasonably high picks to get fully rebuilt on defense at least.
by ASeahawkfan on Oct 1, 2009 3:20 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
They will
I’ll bet my Elway bobblehead on it. Or whats left of it after repeated kickings.
Cleveland and Oakland are horrible. The Bengals werent a great team week one, the game was crappy. Let the Donkey lovers get all excited, it’ll be a harder fall for them later, and more fun for us to watch.

It will probably take 10 wins or more to get a wildcard in the NFC this year
New Orleans
Atlanta
Minnesota
Chicago
Green Bay
New York
Philly
Dallas
Atlanta and New Orleans both look like 11-13 win teams. So scratch that WC out.
The Vikings look like a 12+ win team. They won 10 last year with a black hole at QB. Chicago looks like a 9 or 10 win team but we lost to we’d need 10 or 11 wins to beat them barring a bizzare multi-team tiebreaker. Green Bay has the talent to win 10 or more games, and we will probably lose to them later as it will be a 10am Lambeau visit in late December.
If anything, I’m rooting for Dallas and Philly to make murky the wildcard picture. Seattle will lose in a straight up WC tie to Chicago and probably Green Bay, but if its a 3 or 4 way tie at 10-6, the Seahawks could get in because the rules change with 3+ team ties.
Not only that, but for Seattle to get a wildcard would not only mean they’d need 10 or 11 wins- it means that they didn’t win the division. I’m sorry, but SF is not a 11 or 12 win team. More like 7-9 or 8-8. Arizona looks like an 8-8 team to me. So in short, the wildcard is incredibly unrealistic, and even if it was, Dallas is probably the least threatening team to the Seahawks at this point.

My only want is for the greedy Seachickens to end up with the #32 pick of the 2010 draft.
Should have taken the crappy Bears. I hope the 49ers and Cardinals show you all why your team was kicked out of the AFC West!

We weren't kicked out..
the league moved us out so you could pretend you still have dominance over someone. It’s worked so well for you, your supposed dominance over the AFC West. You now only have one competitive team in the division with you and you STILL can’t win a damn division title. Bully for you!
Remember, we came in as an expansion team with no expansion considerations, competed in the 80’s and had crappy ownership in the 90’s.
You take away the career of one HoF top 5 all time QB and our two teams are incredibly comparable.
On the bright side for us— Elway’s gone and not coming back. And we have good ownership now. And you have Josh McDaniel’s shit show. So enjoy the hell out of that and your false fast start.
