Danny O'Neil reports that Jones is merely "iffy" on his status for practice, so it's possible that he may practice this week. I wasn't expecting to see Walt play at all this year. It would be exciting to see the big man play again, and a real shot in the arm for the team even if he's playing at a diminished level.

I'm not expecting him back.

In fact, if he announced his retirement in the next few weeks I wouldn’t be surprised. Either way, this is his last year.

It's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Next year's notable Ex-Seahawks:
Walter Jones, Patrick Kerney, Seneca Wallace, Jordan Babineaux, Kelly Jennings

Agreed, Wayward

I think the team really had a good idea coming into the bye week that Walt was done and they have kept stringing us along.

I hate it when coaches are ambiguous with injury reports. I understand you want to keep some of that under your hat for to keep your next opponent guessing but isn’t that what the injury report is for?

Just let everyone know if Walt is done already.

I ROCK out with my HAWK out, therefore I am....

Unless he isn't done.

Maybe microfracture surgery calms his aching knee once full healing occurs, in which case he no longer needs the pain/anti-inflammatories he is allergic too, hence he gets healthy enough to play 1-3 more seasons after this year.

Not likely, but not impossible either. Microfracture surgery still is a relatively new concept and baselines for expectation are still being set. Reminds me of ACL tears in the early 80’s. They were essentially career ending, and now a guy tears one and is back at very close to 100% within a year.

Bird Law in this country isn't governed by reason.

I'll be satisfied with Locklear, as loveable as Big Walt is

Sims is already back and I keep thinking that all we need is a decent line to give Matt that extra second – then things will gel and stay that way.

And all the land was in ruin, and burnination had forsaken the countryside.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
