Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys Open Thread II
Seattle isn't winning, but they are in this. This game could have gone a lot of ways and the way it is going doesn't seem so bad. Let's shape up Seahawks and show you can take over the second half.
And let us stopping declaring the game is over and ripping on each other.

Some close calls that turned against us each time, and some plain bad luck. We have no excuse not to get back in this.
if nothing else
the offensive line should be proving a lot of people wrong right now. I’m eating crow.

Nobody ever blames Allen, but if you look deeply within the fabric of the Seahawks you’ll notice his fingerprints all over the scene of the crime.
That's true
The team would be in LA if it wasn’t for him. What a jerk.
Paul Allen is at the center of the NFL's seedy underbelly

We cannot continue to use injuries as an excuse
we have only one offensive player out due to injury
It is what it is...
Our LT is Damion McIntosh.
There’s probably more than one offensive player out to result in that.
One position
If you are going to let that dictate how you view this team, you are missing the mark.
It is what it is...
I'd like to argue with you
And if we were losing by a TD, then there might be an argument.
But we’re losing 35 to 10. There’s a whole lot wrong when you’re losing by that much as often as we have lost by that much this year.
Not an excuse.
But it’s inaccurate to say we are only out one player. We are down to 4th (?) string.

I seriously doubt Ruskell will be here next year. I’d be surprised if Allen retained him. He has had quite a few years to build a quality defense and unless this defense starts playing lights out the next 9 games, they are going to be in the bottom half of the league again.
If Allen is hiring basd on results, those are not favorable results for Ruskell. Certainly not good enough to keep a job.

The Game Was Over on the Second Play
When Hawthorne not only overran the play but looked like a clown doing it, showing once again that these defensive players are incapable of learning anything and that it would only go downhill from there. But at least I waited until the fourth quarter to post that I gave up two and a half hours ago.
by Santolina chamaecyparissus on Nov 1, 2009 12:47 PM PST reply actions
Hawthrone played great today.
We stopped them on the drive and went up 3-0. the game was clearly over after that play.
What a steal he is
If Tatupu becomes perpetually injured, it will be nice to him in there.
Uh,
I know Morgan likes to isolate a single play and extrapolate a player’s wonderfulness from its breakdown, but anybody who has actually watched this game can see that for every nice play Hawthorne has made he has been badly out of position on three others. That is, if you actually watch the ENTIRE game, you know, the one where the Cowboys have done absolutely everything they wanted on offense.
But I know. We can isolate a few plays and see that Hawthorne is wonderful, Tapp is wonderful, Mebane is wonderful, several others have flashes of wonderful. Shockingly, the Seahawks defense still finds a way to be utterly humiliated road game after road game after road game. Somebody better tell next week’s opponent how wonderful Hawthorne is so they can start game-planning around him right now.
In its own way this forum is every bit as ridiculous as one like Seahawk Addicts. Ideas get latched onto and can’t be dislodged no matter what happens in the real world.

ARGH WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE TODAY?!
Broncos 12 Bengals 7: The story of the 2009 Seattle Seahawks.
We're BORED.
Pretty simple. We’ve been bored silly by Seahawks’ football for a good year and a half.
To be fair, I'm really not seeing a whole lot of expert analysis by the regulars.
And what to make of a game like this? We do have a good majority of our starters back, and we are laying a stupendous egg on offence.
Its not about making analysis.
Its about coming in the game thread and within 3 mins saying game is over / season is over – over and over and over and over again.

I think bitching and complaining is totally fine.
It’s when it is overdone, unoriginal, and not funny where it becomes a problem.
And overdone and unoriginal have been the problems today.
You can bitch about bad plays – but when all you are offering is “Game is over” then go do something else.

Well to be fair, complaining about someone else complaining is still complaining.
Also, I imagine that game threads are like attending actual games except being loud and cheering = giving up and being negative.
I can't believe Hawthorne is playthign this well, an undrafted FA.

Something wrong with the object of that ogling
I know what they say about different strokes, but some people are just too damned kinky
Seattle is losing 38 to 17 against the Cowboys at home
why is this so crushing for everyone? The Seahawks were 4-12 last season. They look a little better this season.
I expected it.
Early prospect watch: RB C.J. Spiller, OT Ciron Black, DT Gerald McCoy, S Eric Berry, DT Ndamukong Suh, CB Ras-I Dowling 6'2, 200, RB Jonathan Dwyer, Sam Bradford*.
I'm not crushed, just a little confused.
How can this team play so bad one week, then absolutely smoke someone the next?
I am not optimistic about our future with Mora, and it’s depressing.
It's all about the matchups
With some teams, our strengths take advantage of their weaknesses. With others, they get the advantage over us.
We’re not a bad team, we’re just not built to beat some kinds of teams.
go rams!

Why would he be?
This was not a game we were supposed to have a chance in, really. To be competitive after what happened last year shows we’re moving forward at least.
It was competitive for much longer than last year's game.
We looked pretty damn good at times, even. Last year John Carlson made that one catch and then it all went down hill from there. This was competitive for over a half. For a franchise in the situation the Seahawks are in, that’s good.
Oh, Jones.
If only you kept your balance, you could’ve got a TD and then pretended to take a dump on the Star at midfield.
I would pay to see that.
He should take a real one.

How has Hawthorne looked?
Just joined this game… he made a nice open field tackle on that F. Jones run a few minutes ago
Big surprise there.
Jesus Murphy, when the hell is Burleson ever gonna learn it’s not a loaf of bread?
Go Lambs!
Lions are almost done.
Early prospect watch: RB C.J. Spiller, OT Ciron Black, DT Gerald McCoy, S Eric Berry, DT Ndamukong Suh, CB Ras-I Dowling 6'2, 200, RB Jonathan Dwyer, Sam Bradford*.
RAMS WIN RAMS WIN RAMS WIN~ ~~ :)

It means we will score 105 on the Lions

That one could get depressing.
Can we do another with the Cowboys? I’ll just feel bad for the lions fans.
No. Dallas won. Detroit got embarrassed at home.

They forgot El-ahrairah, for what use had they for tricks and cunning, living in the enemy's warren and paying his price?

Is it not obvious that the Browns benched Quinn to not have to pay his contract incentives?
