I wonder why people think banning someone is a power trip

It’s more like the worst part of something I otherwise love to do.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 6:08 PM PST up reply actions

The entire process of banning people bites.

The leadup, failing to reason with the person, finally having to pull the trigger. Every time it happens you have to wonder if there was anything you could have said or done differently to avoid it.

by BrianL on Nov 15, 2009 6:12 PM PST up reply actions

Yep.

Almost everyone we have banned was someone I worked extremely hard to not ban.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 6:14 PM PST up reply actions

Coming from a regular reader and commenter.

I think you guys handle the bannings and what not extremely well, there is probably some behind the scenes stuff I don’t see, but I’ve never felt that a banned commenter didn’t deserve the banning.

Adrian Peterson is my favorite person to watch.

Ever hear Welker tell a Indy CB he “fucking sucks”? I’ll find the link.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:12 PM PST up reply actions

I prefer Chris Johnson to Peterson

but he’s so north-south that he isn’t a great highlight back.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 6:15 PM PST up reply actions

Chris Johnson is fun, I agree.

But, as you said, he just burns people so much it isn’t as exciting for me. Watching Peterson stiff-arm is a joy to behold. Though when Chris Johnson changes directions while using his 4.28 speed my mouth drops.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:17 PM PST up reply actions

Here you go John

Welker mouthin’ like he plays football with Will Hunting.

'Bout to pop a bottle of Don De Dieu beer.

Anyone know anything about it? Unibroue Brewing? Is that French for Unibrow?

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:10 PM PST reply actions

It will knock you on your ass

enjoy it slowly, what I remember was amazing. Victory beer.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 6:19 PM PST up reply actions

I bought it during half time.

I may have been the one to jinx us, I’ll admit. I’m using a Stein, which I feel might not do the flavor justice, but it makes my testicles swell with pride.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:20 PM PST up reply actions

After tasting this brew, I will believe you.

It’s a little bit too coriander(maybe?) for my taste, but it is really good.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:19 PM PST up reply actions

Brady is unconsious

Marino with brains

It is what it is...

So...

three future HOFers? Five?

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 6:44 PM PST reply actions

Jordan Senn.

Portland State University’s very own.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:53 PM PST up reply actions

This Don De Dieu has made me drunk.

Obviously French for “getting you fucked up”.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 6:53 PM PST reply actions

Good fuck

Anyone else get Stafford at Min this morning?

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 7:05 PM PST reply actions

Stafford got beat to shit

and managed to stay cool and for the most part, looked decent.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:06 PM PST up reply actions

And when he was good, he was fun to watch.

Good accuracy and ziiip on passes to all over the field.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 7:10 PM PST up reply actions

He really would have looked good in Hawks blue.

A lot more talent around him here plus he could of taken his lumps this season when Hasselbeck gets hurt.

by MFAN on Nov 15, 2009 7:11 PM PST up reply actions

Yep.

That’s how McCoy will learn next year.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 7:12 PM PST up reply actions

Good accuracy, does well under pressure and while it's not great, I think his arm strength is good enough.

Plus I believe he’s been a four or three year starter at Texas, so we have a good sample size of his work.

SEA!

by MFAN on Nov 15, 2009 7:38 PM PST up reply actions

Thanks. I'm all for something new

A Stafford type experience would, at least, make the defeats meaningful, and the wins hopeful.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:41 PM PST up reply actions

Yup, I agree and it's part of the reason I'm mad we didn't have a chance at Stafford.

Losing and watching Stafford grow would be tons better than watching Seneca drop back 65 steps.

SEA!

by MFAN on Nov 15, 2009 7:43 PM PST up reply actions

I like

His quick release, pocket presence, mobility, athleticism, deep accuracy, and his starter experience. I don’t like his mediocre arm strength, lack of exp. under-center, havn’t seen his toughness, and I don’t like the system he plays in.

I would prefer Bradford, and even then I don’t really know. I don’t like Clausen or his face, but I could handle that pick.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:45 PM PST up reply actions

I'm still sort of on the Claussen bandwagon.

Especially since he’s looked decent in a pro style offense and I sorta like his face, he makes for a good face of the franchise.

Good show.

I hate wanting someone other than Hasselbeck. I remember the day I knew Seattle would be great because of him.

I’m getting old. So is Hass.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:51 PM PST up reply actions

Hass is my favorite player in the NFL.

Yes, I’m a homer. But he’s hilarious, he responds to me on Twitter, and he needs to start a show with Jared Allen when he retires.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:52 PM PST up reply actions

Yes, Hasselbeck has a great life ahead of him

And he is a warrior. But he has taken many blows. I’m not sure I will love a Seahawk more than Hasselbeck.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:53 PM PST up reply actions

True

Every season I get surprised at how hard Hass balls. He is so tough for being so bald.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:55 PM PST up reply actions

I watch his interviews and he comes off as an abrasive cocksucker.

His lips are annoying, his mouth is shaped weird. And seriously fellas when was the last time anyone drafted a totally awesome, good character, hard working, bad-ass player out of Notre Dame?

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:50 PM PST up reply actions

C'mon fellas

Could you really not sense my mischievous sarcasm?

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:55 PM PST up reply actions

Was sidetracked by JC's lips

we would have to NDamers with initials of JC!

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:56 PM PST up reply actions

Plus, Force is a Chaplin for UW.

I would say God would be forced to be on our side, but we still have these injuries.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:58 PM PST up reply actions

Why isn't there a greater outcry over how football games a shot?

They start out with a great view of the field, a nice wide shot, and immediately zoom in on the quarterback. There are all of these amazingly athletic players and we get to see the very end of all their work.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 15, 2009 7:08 PM PST reply actions

Good point.

As HD becomes not just standardized, but common, I think they will widen the angle.

by John Morgan on Nov 15, 2009 7:11 PM PST up reply actions

Sunday Ticket has this feature where you can choose your camera angle.

I enjoy putting it on the distant one and getting a view of the action. It really helps you see how inter-connected football is. Reciever play leads to sacks.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:13 PM PST up reply actions

Don't remember

My gramps used to do it on his Sunday Ticket. I’ll have to get back to you.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:48 PM PST up reply actions

I wrote more to that, but it didn't show up.

My Gramps has it on his TV and I havn’t been over there in awhile. And he was always the one to do it. I’ll have to get back to you.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 7:53 PM PST up reply actions

Okay.

You’re talking via TV, yes? Not via a stream, correct?

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 7:54 PM PST up reply actions

Heh, this is the last week where teams have a bye.

32 teams playing the same week starting next Thursday.

Fire Bruce DeHaven.

by SSreporters on Nov 15, 2009 7:11 PM PST reply actions

That was a crazy awesome throw

quick turn, set feet, throw the out to the far flat.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:24 PM PST reply actions

Well this one's over

Not being even remotely able to run the ball has screwed the Colts

by OlSalty on Nov 15, 2009 7:56 PM PST reply actions

Is the Patriots success due more to scheme or Brady?

If it’s scheme, I want me some. If it’s Brady, I’ll just have to wait.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 7:57 PM PST reply actions

This game is not over.

Every receiver should be so lucky to be drafted by the Colts and work hard.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 8:02 PM PST reply actions

So, am I just drunk, lacking football intelligence

Or is Peyton Manning the GOAT for QBs? He blows my mind.

by DJ C-Raig on Nov 15, 2009 8:03 PM PST reply actions

that is a toughie

but the colts talent, outside of Manning, is Seahawk esque.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 8:07 PM PST up reply actions

Depends if you factor in SB wins or not.

I’m not sure. Could be Manning. I like Montana quite a bit.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:08 PM PST up reply actions

Some would say Brady, too.

I didn’t watch Montana as much as Manning. Based on my experience (and not factoring SB wins) it’s probably Manning. I watched his greatness more.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:11 PM PST up reply actions

I was young during the Montana days

But SF won consistently. Montana was a game manager opposite to that of Manning. He was more Hasselbeck before anyone had seen anything like a Hasselbeck.

The thing that I remember from Montana is that he “always” found a way to get the win. He believed he could win every game. Just like Manning/Brady; all the greats.

It is what it is...

by kidder95 on Nov 15, 2009 8:13 PM PST up reply actions

I hate NE.

And ESPN. And Favre. And Steelers. And Denver.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:05 PM PST reply actions

And CBS.

Oh, and Fox for letting many of us miss the first 20 mins. of the Hawks game.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:06 PM PST up reply actions

Yuck.

That’s 3 ducks tonight – you look like your brother Eli, Peyton.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:13 PM PST reply actions

Yikes, I don't get it

Haven’t seen Manning float this many passes in a long time

by OlSalty on Nov 15, 2009 8:14 PM PST reply actions

No, but

There are very few games where you could honestly say “Man, Peyton made a few really shitty throws” because he is that great.

by OlSalty on Nov 15, 2009 8:20 PM PST up reply actions

Sorry, that came off wrong, I'm not poking fun at you

I’m more making a joke at some posters in the past we’ve had on here. Indy is certainly a little out of sync tonight.

by B.B.Finnegan on Nov 15, 2009 8:25 PM PST up reply actions

No problem

I have been more of a lurker here in the past so I don’t really understand the typical posting situation :P.

by OlSalty on Nov 15, 2009 8:30 PM PST up reply actions

Good call.

Juggled then caught and tackles behind the marker.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:34 PM PST reply actions

I'm a big go for it on 4th guy,

but I see no way that was a smart call. Buried in your own zone like that?

by Matthew on Nov 15, 2009 8:41 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah, that was too agressive.

At midfield? Maybe, but not on your own 29 yard line.

SEA!

by MFAN on Nov 15, 2009 8:43 PM PST up reply actions

Ya, after some more thought I think your right

It let the Colts keep the run alive, it was just way too easy for them to bleed the clock, and Manning didn’t need to force a pass or hold on to the ball for any length of time. I figured the Colts would score either way and giving it to them there would give the Pats more time to respond. Obviously wasn’t the case.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 15, 2009 9:32 PM PST up reply actions

I want a stud QB in this next draft so bad

I hope we get one, I hope there is one, seems like a good class.

by B.B.Finnegan on Nov 15, 2009 8:48 PM PST up reply actions

I'm with you.

But I worry about some of the prospects. I want the element of deep passing, too. I don’t want another dink-and-dunk QB. Let’s start a new era in an exciting way.

by Misfit74 on Nov 15, 2009 8:52 PM PST up reply actions

I must remark on what now seems to be the most brilliant thing I've see on FG.

This. It was pretty on point then too, come to think of it. Good call, Finnegan.

by thebyron on Nov 15, 2009 8:58 PM PST reply actions

I was sad after the Hawks today

then I went to the UW-Portland St. BB game and it put things in perspective. We just got beat this time
