Apple Cup/Other College Football Open Thread
Our future starting QB potentially vaulted himself to top spot in the Heisman Trophy race on Thursday night. Colt McCoy stepped up when he needed to and I expect the same when the Seahawks do draft him in the 1st round. A 6000 yard throwing, 2000 yard rushing, 85% completion rate (the other 15% are from Nate Burleson drops) rookie season should be reasonable expectations.
On Friday future Seahawk N'damukong Suh recorded 5 tackles and a sack against Colorado. Suh and Mebane. Can anyone create a nickname for this duo?
This morning future Seahawk CJ Spiller returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown against South Carolina. Our route to Spiller is trading Seneca to the Raiders for a first round draft pick. Al Davis accepts the trade after Tim Ruskell successfully convinces him that Seneca runs a 3.6 40 and can play the receiver position well.
This afternoon the Huskies will crush the Cou**rs in the Apple Cup in a showcase of what Jake Locker can do against one of the worst teams in collegiate history.
GO HUSKIES!

It just hit me
The Huskies (3-7) are playing the Cougars (1-9).
The Seahawks (3-7) are playing the Rams (1-9).
This is going to be a great weekend.

It has to be made clear
You can’t advance a muffed punt. I think he was trying to scoop and score.

Isaiah Trufant got an INT in the UFL Championship Game yesterday
Which set up the winner for Las Vegas.

Seriously, it is the Willingham dilemma
Same thing happened at ND, he recruits a few 4 and 5 star QBs, RBs and WRs, but I don’t think he recruits a single lineman. Sark has GOT to make that a priority
I am frustrated that the WSU d-line is getting more pass rush than we are
Not that it is helping them much
Sark is such a poor playcaller
All passes on the drive and we throw a short route on 3rd and 12.

This makes me scared for the Seahawks game tomorrow
I’m going to the game in St. Louis, I’ve been looking forward to it all year
Should we just keep 8 men in the box every play?
Or maybe 9, 10, maybe we need 11 to control the line of scrimmage
That is a good point
You can’t expect an 0 win team from last year to suddenly be a full team. I have actually been impressed with a lot of our game planning (especially in the beginning of the year) because it has done well less talent
It is the thing I always fear with "mobile" QBs
How much are they looking at passing lanes? They have so much more on their mind at once I don’t think the focus is quite there
What does FO always say?
A sucessfull play on 3rd down is only one that gets the first down (or TD in this case)
So we're nearing the end of the game....
are we going to make the 24 point spread? We only need…..well anything
Thanks
That is a lot better than this year, LSU was a rough way to start. And while ND wasn’t that good this season, I’d rather be playing some teams more in our territory. Although BYU is looking pretty good this year.
So very, very, very sweet.
Mizzou beats KU to deny bowl eligibility, likely hammer the final nail in the fat man’s coffin, and all due to his questionable play-calling at the end.
I’m like Cartman tasting the tears of Beakers everywhere.

More SEC officiating
Arkansas scores the go ahead TD with 1 minute and change. They’re up 3 on the road at LSU.
LSU completes a swing pass to the back who struggles to get out of bounds. The knee goes down in bounds clearly. He reaches the ball out of bounds and the clock is stopped.
LSU goes on the kick a 40+ yard field goal with 4 seconds left to get to overtime.
