Severe disappointment.
My 750 of Duchesse de Bourgogne (that I’ve been saving for this evening) doesn’t taste right. It doesn’t taste foul, but it doesn’t taste like it is supposed to taste. What to do?
Too much fluorescent light maybe?
Or you could just convince yourself that the name makes it good and that those that don’t appreciate its unique taste are butchers and barbarians.
Also take a shot every time Jaworski says "NFL football player" or "The NFL is a quarterback's league"
The NFL is a quarterback’s league. Tom Brady is an NFL quarterback. The NFL is Tom Brady’s league.

But can we make a special exemption for a remarkably insane situation for tonight?

I think it would be a fun experiment to line up the non-QB offensive skill positions from every team in the league
with Brady and the Pats O line, all against the same defense, just to see what happened.
I love this play calling

It does not surprise me that New England is starting hot
Isn’t this an annual tradition: The Pats melt a supposed contender sometime around mid-season?
I understand that.
But I had not yet seen him run that softly. So to me, to see it to that degree, to see how all the collisions have taken their toll, was surprising. Perhaps you’ve seen a lot more of him than I, recently.
I'm gonna go calm submissive on your ass.
He's 265 lbs
Forget collisions he should be barreling over guys and not trying to think he’s Bradshaw.
ME! BANE!
Yes, well that's where the "weird" part factors in.
To me he shows signs of a RB that is tired of punishing collisions. The fact he’s built like the Under Armour mannequin at Sports Authority made it surprising to see.
I'm gonna go calm submissive on your ass.
From undrafted camp fodder to starting back in just two seasons
There might be something to this grabbing young running backs every few years thing instead of drafting ‘franchise backs’

You have eight balls all of the same size. Seven of them weigh the same, and one of them weighs slightly more. How can you find the ball that is heavier by using a balance and only two weighings?
By picking each one up until you notice which one's the heaviest
by B.B.Finnegan on Nov 30, 2009 6:29 PM PST up reply actions
Don't you have to pick them up to put them on the balance?
Just call out the heavier one when you’re putting them on
by B.B.Finnegan on Nov 30, 2009 6:35 PM PST up reply actions
Weigh 3 of them against 3 others. If equal, you have a weighting to examine the other two.
If unequal, your second weighing of any two out of the heavier triplet would give you the answer.
Boom.

Fucker would probably get it.
No common sense, but ’whickid smaht" when we get into our biology discussion (that was my Good Will Hunting voice).
Saw this in a video game.
1. Weigh balls A, B, & C against balls D, E, & F. Either one side will weigh more (meaning the heavy ball is in that group) or both sides will balance (meaning none of them are heavy).
2a. If one side weighed more, weigh two of the balls against each other (for example, A vs. B). Either one will be heavier, or they’ll balance, and the one you didn’t weigh is the heavy one.
2b. If the first six balls all balanced, weigh the other two. Whichever weighs more is the heavy one.
In addition

of the 8 OSU players drafted in 2007 only 4 remain on NFL rosters and only 2 receive significant playing time that I can tell. Only 1 of 3 in 2008. The 2009 group is looking better though.

They're completely retooling that defense
it had a couple more pieces last year than this year (Seymour, Harrison, Bruschi, Vrabel). They’re a team in decline.
Shotgun running plays are my favorite
Next to the split-back sets where the RB runs it up the gut.

New Orleans
has a bit of problem. That was the Patriots 55th play of the night. They might get to 85 or 90. That defense is going to be exhausted.. .the miss tackling is starting already.
They're scoring to quickly though.

One thing I wonder about Brady
He has benefited from New England’s system so much. As the system becomes more common and defenses better understand how to gameplan against it, will he suffer?
Is it the system
or his leg?
That 1st down deep ball was terrible and he had no pressure on him.
He's still one of the top 5 in the game
I think he’s a good step below his 2005-2007 self
I wouldn't be either
I’d try to get that guy as many balls as I could.
Ya I don't know, better to get rid of them a year too early that a year too late
Like I’m ever patient enough to realize that at the time though.
I'm sure they'll keep drafting capable backups and then trading them as they become assets.
With a 33 year old Brady, though, that may only happen once more.
I haven't watched the whole game
but has that back shoulder ball been thrown all day?
Here's a dilemma
Seattle doesn’t retain Ruskell but does sign a very smart offensive minded GM. I’m happy.
He's been good at building a defense, but he hasn't built the Ravens D.
I’d rather see someone put together a serious offense.
This defense has too many issues to be elite in the next two years, right?
Then you’re looking at aging at some of the positions that are key now. I don’t see it.
I only see the aging in individual players
Kerney is replaceable and expendable. Terrill is a goner and the only “old” part you’re looking at is the secondary with Lucas and Grant I would think.
Our LB corp is young and deep.
What I see is Seattle’s D improving with experience and new talent.
ME! BANE!
It's hard to say
Seattle has so many good looking young players just entering their prime. You do not assume development, but spread over enough promising candidates, it becomes much more likely. What if some combination of Tapp, Jackson, Wilson, Mebane, Hill, Curry, Hawthorne or Bryant take that next step in the next couple of seasons. All of sudden, Colin Cole isn’t such a problem.
If a new GM, I wonder more what they're going to do with the coaches
by B.B.Finnegan on Nov 30, 2009 8:11 PM PST up reply actions
To clarify
I think I’d be happy if Ruskell is retained, but I’d be thrilled if we hired a really smart offensive-minded GM.
44 plays and something like 475 yards

Moss pulling out one of his favorite Oakland Raiders routes
jog and just sort of hang out
As much as i'd like to see someone finally slow down the Saints..
it humors me to watch the Patriots get smacked
He's certainly faced some adversity
but he’s been throwing to some ridiculous receivers.
And putting up ridiculous numbers
I respect any quarterback that can put up those numbers, often playing behind, in a pro-style offense.
Matter of time before Carney missed one
He’s been aiming for the right upright every time.

I was pulling for the Saints and Brees here at Rory’s in Edmonds, and Brees has been ridiculous. Anything can happen in football, but I’ll be surprised if this Saints team doesn’t make the Super Bowl. I would LOVE to see Brees vs. Manning in the Super Bowl.

"You look for signature wins"
Of course. The Saints are in good shape to get picked for a top seed by the Tournament Committee thanks to a signature win like this one.
THE MIAMI DOLPHINS SHOULD NOT HAVE CHAMPAGNE ON ICE BECAUSE A TEAM HAS ALREADY GONE UNDEFEATED IN THE REGULAR SEASON
The Dolphins weren't the 1st to go undefeated in the regular season
I think the Bears did it twice in the 30s and maybe the Redskins as well. They are the only team to complete a full regular season and postseason without a loss or tie. It’s a pretty amazing accomplishment.
Not so much
But making a big deal of it to everyone else is what is tacky.
Perhaps
But they do have literal champagne, I believe.

Why didnt we go after Darren Sharper!
Here’s a team that was starting two CB’s who are Methusalah-old, and probably didnt know the names of half their teammates, certainly didnt know Gregg Williams’ scheme and yet McKenzie slayed, Sharper debacled everyone within his range and McAlister gave up nothing. Harper got run over by a truck with MARONEY on it’s vanity plates but damn, that patched together defensive backfield looked SB quality.
