From Bucem readers and staff: Ask Buc'em
Ahoy, Seahawks fans- This is SOGWHDNC (shortened) from Bucem.com, THE Bucs blog on SB nation. The bucs are coming off a rather disappointing (happy for me anyway) loss against the Jets, where Josh Freeman looked partially like Byron Leftwich and our whole offense failed. The bucs are (hopefully) looking to bounce back against the seahawks.
We at Buc'em encourage you to create a fanpost of your own so us bucs fans can ask you guys questions. In turn, I encourage you guys to ask questions about the bucs, so BE staff and readers can answer any doubts.
Some things to look forward to (Mostly Niko does this- So letme copy this off):
- SlowDown the Play: a video feature where we look at a play from our last game and slow it down to see how it develops.
- Spotlight on: a video and story feature that looks into a player on the team that had a good week.
- Enemy Flashback: Usually Thursday or Friday- A video feature that features the last time the Bucs and Seahawks played each others team!
- Then we have the Classic Enemy Flashback which airs Friday night or sat night, that shows highlight clips of Bucs/Seahawks games from history. Which ones will they be? Well you will have to check it out then huh?
Feel free to ask questions and create your own Q&A session with Bucem.
(On a side note, I have to say- I love Lookout Landing- Great Site)

Welcome to FG, I answered questions from you guys last year (when we lost 20-10 on SNF)
1.) Is Raheem Morris in over his head, at the moment?
2.) Any chance Tampa Bay drafts Suh?
3.) Is Derrick Ward any good since he left the Giants?
4.) Can we run against you?
Thanks.
ME! BANE!

Lemme Answer Quickly
1) It depends on what different people say- he’ll be back next year but to say he is in over his head is kind of crazy.
2) There is a strong chance but it all depends on St.Louis.
3) Ward will break a big gain once or twice per game- He’s earning his money but as a timeshare back.
4) Yes- In the early stages, You can-2nd half, We have lit. shut down RB’s.

Another take
1) As a coach, probably not. As someone who has to hire/fire coordinators, yes
2) I’ve already sold my soul for the rights to Suh
3) He’s been a disappointment and that’s partly on how he has played and how we have utilized him.
4) If by “we” you mean the staff of Field Gulls, then yes, you can run against the Bucs. Any team can run against us. Our DVOA numbers on rush defense is approx 5% although we have been better since going back to the Tampa Two.

Hey, thanks for stopping in.
Couple quick ones for ya:
1) Why was your team’s bad loss happy for you? Thinking Suh sweepstakes?
2) What are the odds you resign Antonio Bryant?
by thebyron on Dec 15, 2009 9:00 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
1) I want to stay in the Suh Sweepstakes as long as possible.
2) That’s a good question, Antonio didn’t like being franchise tagged last year- Not that he has been particularly effective this year bcs of his injuries, Depends on Dominik though.

Hey Field Gull Readers, just let me correct one little typo, the Classic enemy flashback THIS week will show classic Bucs/Seahawks footage, not jets.
I have footage from all the way back to 1977 so any of you long term Hawks fans, you may see Steve Largent and Jim Zorn in action!
I really like Some Other Guys answers to SSreporters questions, Id like to add some and answer Thebyron’s too.
1) You will get a lot of different responses about Raheem Morris. I am a Supporter who actually was telling my buddies about him in 2007 when he came back to the Bucs and drastically improved the secondary, after improving KStates defense as coordinator there.
There is enough blame to go aro und the entire room at one Buc, and a coaching change after one year is not the way to build any program. Raheem is NOT over his head, he learned under Monte Diffin, Mike Tomlin, and Jon Gruden.
2)Its looking like whoever has the no.1 pick takes Suh
3) Derrick Ward is probably no more guilty of being unproductive than Earnest Graham is. Sure he has gotten more carries, but Cadillac is really the only back who has been fed the ball on a consistent basis. With that, Caddy has a 3.8 Ypc average. Ward? 3.5. This whole offense cannot properly be graded because of the messed up Offensive Coordinator situation, which has Greg Olsen go from QB coach to OC, with some of Jagodzinski’s playbook, some of Grudens, and some of Olsens. We will have to see what happens next year after a full offseason where everyone is in place.
4)Can you run against us? Probably not as easy as our ranking indicates. Since going to the Tampa Two, the Defense has tightened up drastically, but this last week we were missing quite a few people on that side of the ball. Roy Miller did not play, Nor did Geno Hayes. Those are two of our young up and coming players. So that will be a big key to the game.
Now for TheByron, I cant answer for Some other guy, but I think he won a fantasy football playoff game over fellow member BW. But I find consolation in each loss now for the SUH-weepstakes.
2) Resigning Antonio Bryant to me is top priority. He has proven himself to everyone. He never had his play in question, it was his attitude. Would he revert to towel throwing? The worse we got from him was a little “I want the ball more”…we can handle that. Behind AB, we have no one. We MUST resign him, he is not after tons of money, he wants the security of a contract. Give it to him.
Please recommend this post so it can stay up longer, and please start a similar one on Bucem.com and we will recommend that one.
And dont forget to check back the Bucem site for the videos later in the week!

So how do you guys feel about Freeman now?
A friend of mine is a big Bucs fan and we have hilarious debates over who is the best player on the Bucs roster (I keep saying Barret Ruud, he – for some bizarre reason – insists on Kellen Winslow jr.
A big point of contention is Freeman. I never liked the kid much coming out of college; that’s to say, I saw a prospect pick, one you’d have to work on for a few years before he could start, same as with Sanchez, and was afraid some franchises would fall for the hype due to the previous-year success of Ryan and Flacco and draft the two way too high. I giggled at Jets trading up Sanchez because it’s typically the kind of bad trade up that franchise is known for, but sighed as the Bucs taking Freeman, because…I actually like the Bucs, and it struck me as a bad move.
Now Freeman is not playing at an NFL level right now, but that happens with rookies, even the ones destined to be great. What’s your current opinion on him? Is there a consensus on him being a bust or not (probably too early to call)? How would you tag his problems (knowledge, tools, smarts, decisionmaking)? Would you agree or disagree with me if I say the kid would be served well by spending some time on the bench, learning behind a more experienced QB?

No clear consensus
but I think most of us are a bit more relieved. When he was drafted, a lot of us feared the worst, and while we wanted a “franchise” QB, we weren’t sure if he was the answer. Now, we still aren’t sure, but he has shown some good things, and some attributes to genuinely be excited about. If he can get some help from the staff, it should help him get over this rookie hump he’s hit.

Thing is
All the experienced FA QB’s SUCK- I would rather have JF start and get some experience for 8 games into his second year than have someone like Garcia, or Grossman or anyone else.
JF has shown potential- no doubt. He has some poor decision making but that can be attributed to inexperience. Like Niko said, Olsen is juggling between QB coach and OC- frankly, I want him to be one position and command that position- so someone can exclusively teach Freeman. If our O-line, RB’s, WR’s and JF can come together we will be one hell of an offense. I vote for we wait one year, and see how stuff develops in the Offseason.

Y'all poached Michael Bennett
When the Seahawks were reshuffling their roster. How has he played – what do you think. A lot of us were/are pretty high on the guy.

He's been pretty good
Needs some work on some moves on the inside but other than that- He’s good.

I'm sure we can work out a deal to give him back as long as you take Greg Olson and Sabby in exchange for
a brick and ham sandwich and a comparable DL

I'm curious as to what you think of Josh Freeman
I know it’s early to tell, some good games and some terrible ones, but what are your first impressions?
