Around SBN: Newcastle Battle Injury Woes Ahead of Tottenham

This is bound to generate some buzz, so here you go. The Cleveland Browns have apparently extended an offer to Mike Holmgren to become a sort of Football Czar within their organization.

A few minutes ago John Clayton was on with Mike Salk on 710ESPN and confirmed that Holmgren had received an offer which he believes is worth around $4.5-$5M. Furthermore, Clayton said during the interview that the Seahawks have indicated they plan to "go a different direction" and are showing no interest in acquiring his services.

Edit: 710 ESPN has just posted the Clayton interview. Here's the link to the podcast

Seahawk Addicts is losing it

They think this is the logical solution (that being bringing Holmy back to Seattle).

I hope Holmgren accepts. Cleveland needs a ray of hope. This is their guy.

Sadly, he might have success more quickly than whoever comes to Seattle.

I imagine the Addicts would feel even more justified, if that is the case.

They can say whatever they want so long as ownership conducts a thorough search and hires the best candidate out there.

Like John, I believe there are better options than Holmgren for the Seahawks, so this is for the best.

Wholeheartedly agree.

We need someone that is innovative and has a plan. My hope is that Paul Allen has some good advisers that can identify talent and vision, cause they can start building a new dynasty or flounder about and right now it seems like it could go down either path.

This could very well be the organization calling Holmgren's bluff of coming to a decision before Christmas.

Still, this is good. This shows ownership doesn’t plan to cave to pressure and is likely to conduct a very thorough search.

Sweet, thanks!

Holmgren’s handling of the whole situation has been awkward. Like he’s courting a girl but doesn’t know how without making himself look the fool. It must have hurt to go out 4-12 and see Ruskell left with the prize.

Ruskell wanted an immediate answer and he got it

Looks like the Seahawks are a giving a similar answer to Holmgren’s similar request.
