Some Late Night Gerald McCoy
Too good to be true highlights from the freakish, defense changing defensive tackle the Seattle Seahawks can afford to draft: #93 Gerald McCoy.

Quiet as it's kept...
I think this is shaping up to be a solid DT class even after Suh.
Apart from Cody, the kid from UCLA, Brian Price (undeclared), is a player. There is Tennessee’s Dan Williams. There is Mt. Cody for those who need a Pat Williams-type noseguard for a 3-4. There is the kid from Cal. These guys are playmakers with flaws, but those may even be exaggerated by metaphorically standing next to Suh.

I don't think it's all that quiet even with Suh getting all the attention.
Even before the season started, I’ve read that next year’s draft would be deep in DT’s. It looks even more deeper now that Suh has surpassed McCoy as the concensus #1 overall DT, and McCoy was definitely regarded top 5 material.

If we draft any of those 5 in the first round I'll be psyched.
I don’t think we have a shot at McCoy though (or Suh obviously).
From what I've read, some think McCoy would be the better 4-3 tackle.
Suh may be better a 3-4 end. That could suit us well.
This.
I've seen Suh play a bit of 3-4 end...
…but it seems restrictive to his talents to me. If I was in charge of a 3-4 with big ends and had the pop for that pick, I would seriously consider making Suh a 3-4 move-around tackle like Jay Ratliff in Dallas. He’d play some nose, move around in 4-3 sets as an interior rusher, and I’d also most certainly get him going with some Casey Hampton-style zone blitz stuff. IMO, he’s best as a 4-3 three-tech, but he could do some serious damage in the right kind of 3-4 as well.
Suh looks like he could do well in either scheme
He’s got a good a good knack of breaking blocks on the inside and the commitment to chasing down plays. Only a layman, but when I watched his games I kept looking in wonder at the penetration of ‘a guy’ then watching the replay to see it was Suh again and again. Haven’t seen Okla much this season so difficult to judge McCoy. Either seems like a good pairing with Mebane. But I guess McCoy is a bit more likely given draft positions.

We aren't going to draft Suh
We’ll beat Tampa, lose to Green Bay, probably lose to Tennessee (but who knows if they are out of the playoffs and Young is out) either way we’re going to be 6-10 or 7-9 and won’t get into the top 10 so we’ll get McCoy. I think we need to think about our secondary, or line is decent, I think the Houston game shows us where we need to concentrate.
McCoy is a stud
and I feel like he’s diverse enough for us to experiment with him at 5-tech if we want to run some 3-4 or 3-3 formations.
DT are such a risk
I don’t know why look at Glenn Dorsey, Dewayne Robertson, and Marcus Thomas – all of those guys came from the SEC that consistently place starting offensive linemen in the NFL and they dominated them in college but couldn’t do it at the next level.
We gotta go o-line…
