Tampa Bay Bucs at Seattle Seahawks - Open Thread 2
I love you Matt Hasselbeck. As much as one stranger can lawfully love another.
And I never want to see you play quarterback again.

That's right, I keep forgetting Jones will be back next near
And Tobeck will unretire and return to pro bowl form while Holmgren perches on his shoulder and whispers sweetly into his ear

Yes
If we fix the line in one offseason and ensure Hasselbeck is never hit again, he can be, like, average.
which is probably a little better than Wallace or Teel?

I think Matt should get hair plugs next year. Kurt Warner got rid of the salt and pepper hair
and started playing like he was 10 years younger.
Sub in Wallace and let him chuck it deep.
Why the hell not?
First he'll threaten safety by running into the end zone
and then he’ll throw a pick six to Chris Hovan.
We want the ball and we want to score!
Oh is the half already over?

Whatever you do when buying a TV
don’t buy one based on how big they look at Costco.
I am the slowest, most methodical shopper ever
I have planned, broadly, for buying a HDTV since January and spent another four weeks of concerted research.
My wife grew up wealthy
and was taught the value of money. I grew up poor and learned the value of money.
I am not into money, at all really, but when I do make a purchase
I am slow and studied and particular. The stuff I buy lasts.
Ditto here.
Researched for ages before buying something.
Now, I'm researching Laptops since I don't yet have one.
Liking the Viao so far but there are others. Any preferences you guys have I’d listen to.
This.
Lenovo T400 Thinkpad
With the Radeon discrete graphics chipset, 3GB RAM, and the WXGA+ LED backlit monitor.
I like NVIDIA better, and that's one reason I like the Vaio. But, Radeon is better than onboard vid., that's for sure.
This.
Interesting.
Radeon drivers were my only real gripe. Have they gotten better, esp. for mobile stuff?
This.
I'm using an HP DV7 right now. I love it.
HDMI out for hooking up to my big HDTV
The Vaios have HDMI out, too, which I like.
Thinkpads are good and reliable, but I’ve found them to be a bit under the mark for the money so far. I haven’t ruled them out.
This.
They are expensive because they are very well made.
It will save you money and grief in the long run.
I've used them at a couple of jobs, and do like them. Nice to hear how durable they are.
Thinking of going a bit more thin and light, since I have back problems and can handle the lighter ones (but not Netbook) on my lap.
This.
The T400 is a fairly lightweight laptop.
I’ve bought a ton for various people at work and I’m strongly considering buying one for myself.
The only laptops out there more durable than Thinkpads are the Panasonic Toughbooks.
I’ve had my R50p for five years and I’m just now getting around to replacing it.
This game has the weird feel of Atlanta @ NYJ
Jets played better than the score but kept Atlanta in the game. The Falcs beat em in the end.

I know this is late...
but that Carlson TD is exactly why I hate the NFL’s replay system.
The network clearly dictated the outcome there by not showing the replay. Imagine if that were Seattle against the Cowboys in the playoffs and Fox has the Super Bowl or next week’s NFL game?
They can be quick on the trigger for replays for one team and drag their feet on the other. I have no idea whether this would ever happen, but the mere possibility of it happening is troublesome to me.
Booth was out of play....
I am pretty sure that the coaches upstairs only have access to the network broadcast.
What's confusing?
You think Morris would have kept the flag in his pocket if FOX would have shown the clear replay prior to the PAT? That’s what I am saying.
Brittany Murphy died?

Dollars to Doughnuts says..
it has something to do with an eating disorder. Girl was sickly skinny.
So Weaver did something stupid
While the Eagles were trying to set up for a spike play, Weaver sat around jawing with some Niner, and by the time someone grabbed Weaver and got him to line up already, the Eagles only had time to kick the field goal instead of taking a shot at the endzone.
Pretty damn stupid.
Spencer or Gibson at ROG...
Hey, did anyone notice that the Seahawks were running the ball well (both force and jones) with Unger-Spencer in the game in the first quarter, but not so well with Unger-Gibson in the second quarter? Or am I imagining that?

Is Mora even invested in this game anymore?
I see someone who looks like he’s ready to go home.
You know I don't think there's too big of a gap between most head coaches in the NFL
I have a problem when an HC actively hurts his team. Jim Mora is actively hurting his team.
Fire Jim Mora.
Not disagreeing.
But just want to know how he’s actively hurting them? I can’t really see the game.
The funny thing?

Well, yeah, that's what I meant when I said I didn't want to emotionally rush into a decision about him
Maybe he is to blame. I just don’t want to commit to that today.
He's done nothing to deserve leeway.
He’s in-game decisions have been bad, he’s handled himself poorly with the press, and he’s lost the support of his players.

Hey Guys... I'm Sorry but can I ask everybody to take a timeout?
This shouldn’t be a surprise. The coach has lost this team. The scheme is bad. The moral is bad. Hasselbeck is not the guy for us, but we dont have other options at this point.
We get 3 of the top 40 picks next year, and hopefully a new coach. Better days are ahead.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
Of course.... I wasn't suggesting actually blocking people....
I’m more asking for everyone to look at the bright side
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
People are pissed.
You’ll get your answers later when people have calmed down.
Fair Enough...
I’m pissed too… I’ve just learned over the years that anger never solves problems. Point taken however.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
If I was Jim Mora Senior I would spank my kid until he cried.

I want someone here to come up with a cogent argument
That Matt Hasselbeck is not at fault for his sucking.
Bruce DeHaven must go.
Happier days..

I'm going to make my own mock draft
Claim we will take Alien AND the Predator in the first round, defend my choice authoritatively, and book many radio appearances with attached fee. Goal: be rich.
I think they count as dirtbags, though
They’d be eviscerating players left and right
awesome, another little DE

I saw him listed at 260.
Still though. I want a beast in the middle next to Mebane.

I'm just at a loss for words.
This is one of, if not the, worst performances I’ve ever seen from Matt.
The Hawks left a while ago
Tampa is just kinda of wandering around the field looking for someone to play against.
The Great Ruskell Legacy Revision is well under way
these last few weeks haven’t been kind to his record
brave of you to say that.
but I think I agree.

the guy talking in his ear and calling plays helped a lot.

The sad part
Everyone will use this as an example of why we should have brought Holmgren back and why they were stupid for not doing it. That will be annoying to listen to.
I'm serious.
Just stand there and let the Bucs walk into the endzone.
Part of me wants to see Jim Mora buried under a pile of dirt bags.
"Football players are temperamental. That's 90 percent temper and 10 percent mental." - Doug Plank
I think Mora can see the writing on the wall, I actually think his post game presser will be calm.
SEA!
I'm still not 100% against him, but he's had a bad couple weeks.
There are 2 weeks left, I’m willing to let him finish this season out.
SEA!
I was giving Mora the benefit of the doubt, but
a month with a healthy offensive line proved to me that he cannot coach this team.

I don't like seeing my Seahawks
thrown under the bus. Especially guys like Spencer.

Thrown under the bus and questioned for not healing fast enough
while he was playing through a broken bone.
I'm not convinced he meant that the way you guys are interpreting it
but I can see why you would hate on him for being so inarticulate.
"I dunno why he still has that cast on."
That’s a clear shot at Spencer.
I think it was,
but I could believe that he’s just venting his frustration on a slow healing injury or he’s incompetent and is not up to date on the injury status of his players.
I can't believe how long it's taken this commentary crew to discuss Mora
Yeesh. You’d think it would be the story of the day.
I meant his future with the team.
Though now they seem to be ignoring it.
Kerney is looking very noticably slow
and still playing better than any other DE on this team.

Don't blame Knapp
You can’t blame Knapp for Hass being a footballing dumbass out there.
Bruce DeHaven must go.
I can blame Knapp for giving up on the run after the first quarter.

how true.

They need good coaching.

Those players are paid too much to quit.
by Joshua Kasparek on Dec 20, 2009 4:16 PM PST reply actions
If they did quit, they're gambling that the new GM will blame Mora and not them
But if what Leiweke suggested is true and the Seahawks are staying with Mora, a lot of players might have played themselves out of a job. Mora’s not going to keep anyone who didn’t make an effort today.
This Raider game is doubly important.
It knocks the Broncos down, and moves them even with us.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
WTF!
Tomlin onside kicks up by 2 with 4min to go. Almost got it too…therefore it may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on a football field.
I think the call has some merit
I wouldn’t have done it, but I can see why he did.
The only logic I can find...
is the “let em score” philosophy. Maybe Tomlin felt that they’d just eat up 4 minutes and kick anyways. Leaving them little or no time left so he wanted to give them a short field….
TD Pack…Pit still has 2 minutes.
hmmmm
In a way, validates Tomlin onside kick…
No it doesn't
The good process that went into making the decision validated it regardless of the touchdown.
Dunno...
He at least gets a talking-point that makes some sense.
Up by 3 or more? Probably has no validity. Up by 2 with 1 timeout left, he at least gives his team a chance to get the ball again if GB takes the lead.
I’ll agree that at face value it seems totally ridiculous, but after thinking about it, I am not sure that it was.
