I love you Matt Hasselbeck. As much as one stranger can lawfully love another.

And I never want to see you play quarterback again.

I know this is late...

but that Carlson TD is exactly why I hate the NFL’s replay system.

The network clearly dictated the outcome there by not showing the replay. Imagine if that were Seattle against the Cowboys in the playoffs and Fox has the Super Bowl or next week’s NFL game?

They can be quick on the trigger for replays for one team and drag their feet on the other. I have no idea whether this would ever happen, but the mere possibility of it happening is troublesome to me.

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 2:47 PM PST reply actions

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 2:51 PM PST up reply actions

So Weaver did something stupid

While the Eagles were trying to set up for a spike play, Weaver sat around jawing with some Niner, and by the time someone grabbed Weaver and got him to line up already, the Eagles only had time to kick the field goal instead of taking a shot at the endzone.

Pretty damn stupid.

Spencer or Gibson at ROG...

Hey, did anyone notice that the Seahawks were running the ball well (both force and jones) with Unger-Spencer in the game in the first quarter, but not so well with Unger-Gibson in the second quarter? Or am I imagining that?

I saw him listed at 260.

Still though. I want a beast in the middle next to Mebane.

I'm just at a loss for words.

This is one of, if not the, worst performances I’ve ever seen from Matt.

The Hawks left a while ago

Tampa is just kinda of wandering around the field looking for someone to play against.

No

They stopped playing in the second quarter when they stopped running the ball and put Gibson in at ROG. its been over since then.

brave of you to say that.

The sad part

Everyone will use this as an example of why we should have brought Holmgren back and why they were stupid for not doing it. That will be annoying to listen to.

I'm still not 100% against him, but he's had a bad couple weeks.

There are 2 weeks left, I’m willing to let him finish this season out.

I was giving Mora the benefit of the doubt, but

a month with a healthy offensive line proved to me that he cannot coach this team.

I don't like seeing my Seahawks

thrown under the bus. Especially guys like Spencer.

Kerney is looking very noticably slow

and still playing better than any other DE on this team.

They have a lot of good players.

They need good coaching.

If they did quit, they're gambling that the new GM will blame Mora and not them

But if what Leiweke suggested is true and the Seahawks are staying with Mora, a lot of players might have played themselves out of a job. Mora’s not going to keep anyone who didn’t make an effort today.

This Raider game is doubly important.

It knocks the Broncos down, and moves them even with us.

WTF!

Tomlin onside kicks up by 2 with 4min to go. Almost got it too…therefore it may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on a football field.

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 4:24 PM PST reply actions

I think the call has some merit

I wouldn’t have done it, but I can see why he did.

by JerHawk on Dec 20, 2009 4:26 PM PST up reply actions

The only logic I can find...

is the “let em score” philosophy. Maybe Tomlin felt that they’d just eat up 4 minutes and kick anyways. Leaving them little or no time left so he wanted to give them a short field….

TD Pack…Pit still has 2 minutes.

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

Oh good

The Packers will be pissed and have their playoff lives on the line.

by John Morgan on Dec 20, 2009 4:47 PM PST reply actions

wow...

that was a great play by Pit.

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 4:48 PM PST up reply actions

hmmmm

In a way, validates Tomlin onside kick…

by PLU Tim on Dec 20, 2009 4:50 PM PST up reply actions

No it doesn't

The good process that went into making the decision validated it regardless of the touchdown.

by Nate Dogg on Dec 20, 2009 4:51 PM PST up reply actions

Dunno...

He at least gets a talking-point that makes some sense.

Up by 3 or more? Probably has no validity. Up by 2 with 1 timeout left, he at least gives his team a chance to get the ball again if GB takes the lead.

I’ll agree that at face value it seems totally ridiculous, but after thinking about it, I am not sure that it was.
