Logan Payne
Hey guys Im Tomahawk44 and Im coming over from ArrowHead Pride. Today we signed an ex Seahawk by the name of Logan Payne and I was wondering if you guys can give us the rundown on him...Whats his strengths or weakness? He is only on our PS but I was wondering if you guys would look at this as a good or bone headed move by the Chiefs? Do you think he can make his way onto the roster with a weak WR core? Any information appreciated!

Honestly though, Payne has potential, but has never done much here. Last year he could have seen plentiful playing time, but was injured in the (I believe) second game of the season.

All I want for Christmas is Joe Haden, Eric Berry, and Nandamukong Suh in Seahawks blue.
He's a practice squad or fringe roster guy.
He has good hands, but exhibits what we could call “white man hustle” and of course coaches love that. Think Jerheme Urban but not as good. I suppose he could be a decent 3rd or 4th receiver if he continues to improve his route running to make up for his lack of true speed. His hands are slot-receiver quality, but he lacks burst.
Also, you do NOT want him to be a special teams gunner. One of the more frustrating things you will ever see, him over pursuing and missing the tackle allowing for a much bigger gain by the return man. Honestly, a good practice squad fodder player with a little potential to eventually step in.
Also, great signing of Chris Chambers, looks like he’s been solid for you, and going forward you have the potential for an excellent 2 man receiving corp with Bowe and Chambers.

There are the athletic guys who never learn to play the game and never do anything, and then there are the technically sound, fundamentally correct guys who’ve memorized the play book but lack NFL athleticism that never do anything. Payne is the latter.
Think Dane Looker
but a half-step slower (and a little bigger).

I think most of these critiques miss the point
that Logan Payne is actually an excellent athlete. When he was a Seahawk he had the best hands on the team. Hands down. Best hands on the team.
Logan Payne lacks height, he lacks stright-line speed, and doesn’t have the extra explosiveness to separate from defenders that short wideouts need in the NFL. He has the route discipline, adjustment to the ball, and certainly the ball skills. But, lacking speed and height, he will probably never make an impact in the NFL.

Well Payne is listed as 6'2 so I don't think it's the height thats holding him back
He knows routes and can catch a ball but that whole seperation thing is tricky.
He has a strength rating of 92 on Madden 09!
if that helps?
But on a serious note, what everyone else has said is true.
White Man Hustle.
He’ll impress on the practice field, but don’t expect anything out of him in game-time.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
He won a Biletnikoff
yet he’s had some maddening drops in pre-season. Quite puzzling.
The demise of the Broncos in '09 is our future. Pray hard.
