Seahawks storm the barn and step in deep doo-doo

To be fair,
the “foward pass” is not a huge part of football.

Well at least...
I was worried about is finishing 7-9 and drafting out of the top 10, and we would have to settle for these insignificant “moral” victories, this is a good draft class the earlier we pick the better. Games like this show off that there are not many positions where we don’t need an infusion of talent.
If that damn line would just play bettah.
And the receivers. It’s all their fault.

Jim Mora
will not bench anyone because that would be “giving up.”
Jim Mora needs to be fired.

Furness on the post game:
“8 interceptions, 9 turnovers the last two weeks; that’s not Matt, so just forget about that.” Brilliant analysis right there. Our local media is almost as embarrassing as the Hawks.
He used to be good, so he's always good no matter what.
Mainstream Seattle sports logic.

Steve Largent starting with T.J.
Next week that’s the ticket players are never too old.

Largent
Would love for him to come in as a receiver coach . Quick in routes with hands shown to dominate athletes with speed . Seems like receivers have forgotten how to become best possible target like Steve was . Add to that a wheelbarrel of cash to get Zorn back at QB coach would make for a outstanding camp
I'm so glad I didn't buy Sunday Ticket this year.
What a waste that would have been.

All I want for Christmas is Joe Haden, Eric Berry, and Nandamukong Suh in Seahawks blue.
Sunday Ticket
Is worth buying every year. Yeah it sucked to watch my beloved Hawks. But I also love watching football. It’s nice to see what real football is :)
1st year w/ Sunday Ticket and my life is better for it.
I would rec. to anyone. I love watching games that don’t include Jets, Cowboys, Colts, Patriots, Eagles, Giants, etc. Force-feed me THIS you douche-bag major TV network cocktasters.
This.
I don't care enough about other teams
to pay $300 to watch them.

I should have gotten it...
I’ve spent more than 300 in bar tabs this year watching the games at sportsbars…

I thought there might be something to lose if they change all the coaches. I think the line is running better and pass blocking more consistently
but I’ve seen no marked improvement everywhere else.

Pretty sad when...
Garbage time starts with the 3rd quarter.
I was at the game
I must complement your fans for knowing what sobriety is unlike some Vikings fans I witnessed, nice pictures.

This season, the Seahawks have been outscored in the first quarter 82-37.
On six different games this year, they have given up the first 14 points of the game (if not more).
This is reaching 1992-like levels.
Except that in 1992 that was pretty much solely the O's fault.
The D was 17th in the league in points surrendered, despite having the worst offense in the league supporting them.

Teel , Seneca , Butler
I really want to give Matt a break . Game feels more like an evaluation game for next season anyway so let the fans and coaching staff see how much Teel has absorbed .
I have also seen enough to evaluate Branch . Put Butler in #1 position to see how he does and Seneca in the #3 spot . Means nearly any 3WR set could possibly be a Senecat . Fans may want to see more Butler and Seneca in regular routes .
We do not need Matt getting wiped out in this game of all games .
Butler's a slot type guy. Not strong enough for number 1 slot, he'd get jammed up at the line constantly.

the '92 defense was awesome
and rarely gave up 14 points in ANY quarter.
by B.B.Finnegan on Dec 27, 2009 4:57 PM PST up reply actions
Indeed, on average for an entire season they're not as bad
But there have been quite a few games this season that have exceeded the suckitede of any of the ’92 games.

Remove the outliers (StL and Jax)
And this is a team that’s been outscored 198-373, is -8 in turnover ratio, averages 302 yards of offense per game (much of that in garbage time when we’re already down two scores or more) and 382 yards defense.
And really, the last three weeks have been indicative of the gap in our ability to gameplan, as other teams have sniffed out our weaknesses while we seem incapable either by poor coaching, lack of personnel, or both, to do the same.
Is this team worst than last year?
hmmmmmmm
In nearly every way possible... Forsett is probably the brightest spot all year
and Mora still probably doesn’t see what everyone else does in him.
by twocolorcrayon on Dec 27, 2009 5:27 PM PST up reply actions
Yes
Last year at least there was the excuse of injuries that piled up all season.
This year, the O line is better simply because it is healthier.
RBs are better because of the Jones and Forsett tandem.
Everything else is worse, and getting worse every week that Mora coaches them.

Pray for the DRAFT
Three picks in the first 40 or so players for 2010. I hope the Seahawks get their heads out of their butts and do it right this year. Need a Left Tackle, Defensive End, and a QB to replace a once proud Matt Hassleback who had a great career but looks like he’s Done!
Draft LT , yeah , everything else , nay
Would prefer a dominate double team demanding DT and then 3rd pick to be anohter LT to push #1 or at the least push RT
So, another turd game from Hass.
In other news, the sun rises in the east and bears shit in the woods.
Hasslebeck apologists can officially blow me. The dude is done.

It is sad to see Hass reduced to this.
I love the guy but the Hasselbeck backers need to realize he’s done. I still like our D for the most part. O Line is now the best part of this team, ironic. When I watched this game, I felt like I was watching the 2008 Mariners. I still watched but didn’t have much emotion about it. I really hope they rethink that whole “Mora is safe” train of thought.
Also a die-hard Hawks fan.
pass that crack pipe over here.
“I still like our D for the most part”?
34 points to Houston
24 points to Tampa Bay at home
48 points to Green Bay
What is there to like about this D?
I like Brandon Mebane.
I like Tapp’s effort. For a guy who is too small for DE he gives great effort.
I like Josh Wilson’s effort. For a guy who is too short to be a starting CB, he gives great effort.
I like Cory Redding’s effort. For a guy who lacks the quickness to get to the QB at least he gives great effort.
I like Pat Kerney’s effort. For a guy who lacks the quickness to get to the QB at least he gives great effort.
I like the way David Hawthorne moves to the ball on run plays. I cringe when I watch him in pass coverage.
I like the idea of Lofa Tatupu.
I like the idea that Aaron Curry may be a good linebacker some day.
Well, that covers 6 out of 11 positions, and two of those guys are ready for retirement. What else is there to like?

What does a billboard cost? I say we take up a collection and make sure sure
ownership knows to “FIRE JIM MORA!”.
There's a Facebook group now, too.
(and two others from his days with the Falcons)
Cant defend Hass anymore
or the coaching staff. Trufant looks like a 7th rnd rookie forced to play his rookie season, wasn’t he a Pro bowler? Hass needs to start looking for a car dealership or a coaching job.
yea dude
He's coming off a back injury...
He hasn’t looked physically healthy. Unlike Hass, I’m not willing to give up on him just yet.

With his sister in law for all I care I never want to see him play another down.

I'm not ready to write off Trufant, he sat out half the year and has clearly not adapted to Bradley's scheme (as ill-suited as it is for him, admittedly)
Hass, on the other hand, can bugger off. Love the dude, of course, just like how everybody loved Old Yeller but realized it was time to put the old dog down.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
I think Hass has reached his glass jaw point
There comes a point when you are so busy running scared that it is the only mindset you have. He expected to get hit he is always sore and beat up. Steve McNair hit this point in his last few seasons with the Titans, he got over it a little but only by handing the ball of the majority of the time and only throwing on 2nd and 3rd and long.
Hass and Mora , I will give time
Been a fan since ’76 . Not going to run screaming like a school girl 1 year into a new program . he has not even been head coach 12 months yet .
As for Matt , I have seen far worse through the decades and I have seen great QBs have lackluster years . He did have over 100 rating for SF game . Something is wrong this year for sure , but not knee-jerk done by a long shot .
A couple of points
A lot of people want Mora to be removed from head coaching duties because he has shown some very disturbing tendencies to throw specific players under a bus. The way he handled Mare and Spencer this year was not acceptable and does not speak highly of his leadership skills.
People here also want a new QB brought in because Matt is well on the wrong side of thirty, has an extensive injury history, and has only a year remaining on his contract. Add to that, with two first round picks in this draft the organization may not find themselves in a better position to take a QB for a long time.
As a minor note, I’d stay away from using QB rating here. Many of the factors of that stat are influenced by things well outside of the QB’s control. Furthermore the weighting of certain outcomes leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm just about tired of fans wanting former Seahawks to join the coaching staff
Since when did that become nearly guaranteed success?
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
You can only drop certain names on this forum
Everyone here has an opinion of who they think will help right this ship, whether a new head coach, offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator. You here names like Shanahan, Cower and Billick. Why is it not alright to drop names of former Hawk players or coachs for these positions. They could be just as good of coaches for the Hawks as any one named so far on this forum. Maybe even better. Billick was the offensive mind of the Baltimore Superbowl team, How did that offense do. Shanahan flopped in his first job in Oakland. Cower took over a good team and still took him a long time to get to the Superbowl in which the refferees hand him a victory. So Zorn has struggled as a head coach in Washington. Since Snyder bought the team how many seasoned coaches has he gone through. Zorn went from QB coach to Head Coach, thats quite a jump, especially since he originally went there to be the OC. I would like to see him as our OC because he was an assistant coach under one of the best offensive minds in the NFL, Mike Holmegren . With Zorn also being a former Hawk player only sweetens the pot because he has a connection with the team and city. So why do you think that Zorn would not work as an offensive coordinator for the Hawks?
ZORN FOR OC
