New theme of the day:
Because fuck Denver.

This is the part of the year where I'm torn between wanting a team to lose
And wanting them to get worse draft position.

2010 Seahawks Opponents
Home: NFC West, Kansas City, San Diego, Atlanta, Carolina, Giants/Dallas (whichever one finishes 3rd. Likely the Giants).
Away: NFC West, Oakland, Denver, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Chicago.
Loving that Oakland trip.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
I do hope that when I renew my seasons I get a good upgrade.
Probably the only ‘good’ about the team sucking.
Meanwhile, Null of St. Louis continues to get reps
And continues to seemingly improve.
It is what it is...
With teams around the NFL adopting the 3-4
I hope Seattle has a powerful, athletic center it can match against opposing nose tackles.
And not some high-bodied, ZBS guard type that was driven back by Tonga Tea.
That’s for you Fearless.
I'd take Wilfork over Ratliff
3-4 with an ability to shift to a 4-3 sounds nice.
Defense played well in the first half. Didn’t show up though in the 2nd.
It is what it is...
Figured:
what the hell’s the point in trying to keep the other team from scoring when Hass is just going to hand them field position back anyway?
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
He just told me we have the worst defense in the NFL
And that’s the main reason we suck.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
Yuck.
You know I actually think Fearless is a pretty knowledgeable fan, he just takes everything to the extreme.
His sig: Holmgren would've drafted Crabtree
Only if Crabtree is a fullback would Hasselbeck throw to him.
He was a major advocate for bringing Holmgren back because he built a Super Bowl offense that Ruskell ruined.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
8 interceptions in two games
I hate it the way our defense keeps throwing all those interceptions

When Philly is right they can beat you so many different ways
if they’re hot in the playoffs I don’t think anyone can beat them. But… they’re up and down.

Do you think so?
I haven’t looked at DVOA #s, but Dallas seems unable to run consistently enough to protect a lead.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Except they don't like Choice
The line is solid. I think the backs are meh.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Barber is aging like about anyone would expect
and Jones is a bit overhyped, but Choice is very, very good back and could be 1200+ rushing 1500+ total yardage feature back on another team.
Yeah
Weeee like Choice. I liked him at Tech, and I’ve read you go on and on.
But Phillips, Garret, et al. don’t seem to be as enamored.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Choice and McCoy
The reminders of over valuing Lawrence Jackson continue.
Carlson at 28 and Choice at 49 would have been nice.
I’ll stop with the effing wish fest now.
It is what it is...
Still not ready to give up on Lo Jack
I thought he was the next Phillip Daniels when we drafted him.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
He's coming along
He needs some more consistent, tough love coaching, but the brain and muscle are starting to turn into a football player.
Their refusal to acknowledge what they have in Choice
(and what they don’t in Barber) is what makes me poo poo Dallas’ playoff chances.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Eddie Royal's neck injury
Beard related?
Dang
Love McKinley. He reminds me soooo much of Bobby Engram.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Funny how Dallas in '91 can go 1-15 and feel like they are making progress
Seattle goes 5-11 (possibly) and feel like they may suck for a generation.
It is what it is...

fuck Denver."

Remember I said a while ago
I would’ve loved to see Denver (when they were 3-0) have a great start and then totally collapse at season’s end?
This is cool.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
the only real question is whether he can stay healthy long term
if he’s healthy he’s so uber quick in an out of cuts you can’t stay with him.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
The guy I think of...
when I see Jackson is Eric Metcalf (who I LOVED as a kid).
I don’t think he gets hit. The only issue is that a knee injury that robs him of just a quarter-step off his quickness makes him a very different player.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
He's down to about one "wuh!?" play per game
with his tools (and now weapons) that can get you to the HOF.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
I don't think you are too far off the truth there Nate
coach just gets bored sometimes.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Weaver
He’s having a great time in Philly. Good for him
erutangis
Tatonka?!? TAKONKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
He's going to leave Philly because he doesn't have the final say so he can go to Cleveland and not have the final say?
HAWKS! HAWKS! HAWKS!
DeCosta or Heckert is going to do wonders with the 2 1st round picks. Hawks back in the playoffs in 2010. DeCosta wins executive of the year.
A posession receiver Diva...
Lloyd is a kind of Highlander. He can only be killed by other possession receiver Divas (e.g., Housh, Ochocinco)
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
I've watched Lloyd since he played at Illinois
superior hands. He’s never had any speed. He never even had the quicks of a guy like Randel El.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
He once had elite speed
but no more. He’s always been a fantastic route runner, even when he had good speed. But he’s no speed receiver any more.

Funniest thing I've read today
Tebow is being under consideration for Florida HC. No, this isn’t the Onion.
I can’t believe these jokers are professional reporters.
He's going to revolutionize the QB position
by B.B.Finnegan on Dec 27, 2009 2:13 PM PST up reply actions
yes
the first qb who’s release is measured in seconds
He'll only be good through his rookie contract
by B.B.Finnegan on Dec 27, 2009 2:15 PM PST up reply actions
If he had fallen to the late first
I think he would have been worth signing. 12 is kind of crazy high though.
Was never as enamored with him as some...
He didn’t catch the ball much at UGa, but has shown an ability to catch it a bit since coming to Denver.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
the numbers are there
but funny — not my recollection of him at all, save a couple of screens for scores in big games. In Richt’s offense that year they seemed to rarely throw to the backs, but obviously they did.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
He's pretty agile and sure handed and redirects well
I think Richt envisions “Pro Style” meaning, pro style circa 1986.
And a talented offense
Someone really good at each skill positions
by B.B.Finnegan on Dec 27, 2009 2:23 PM PST up reply actions
McNabb has to take the sack instead of looking for receivers
Learn from Hasselbeck.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
He had a checkdown
about 2 yards downfield. Not sure why he didn’t take it.
by somethingwitty on Dec 27, 2009 2:22 PM PST up reply actions
Wow.
They must have thought Philly was done throwing to Celek today.
has the screen game basically replaced the balls that went to him last year?
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Must have missed most of those
For what it’s worth the one sack we actually had that wasn’t negated by a penalty was split between LoJack and Tapp.
FIRE JIM MORA NOW!
Jones wasn't bad
I couldn’t imagine a run game existing with this pass attack. Teams are stacking 11 in the box.
Wow
a Celek/Magnum P.I. reference.
Yeesh.

comin' in to save the fuckin' day yeah...
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Edge was definitely worth more than Weaver
Thank God we saved money by letting Weaver go.
It is what it is...
That was much dumber
somewhat surprised he didn’t end up anywhere else, did he?
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
I'd put that one at the bottom of the list of Ruskell's sins
you’re going to lose guys that can help you. Seattle needed to see what it had in Owen Schmitt, and didn’t need to overpay for a guy that’s not a difference maker in Knapp’s offense.
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Crown his ass
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
So, what are you saying Nate?
you don’t want to re-live each mistake blow by painful blow?
"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
No need to get carried away here
I think they’re still pretty good. They still got that left side and DJAX is money in the red zone.
That's not true
Schmitt should still develop. He’s young and inexperienced. It wasn’t Weaver or Schmitt, it Weaver or Griffith.
Scmitt had better improve his blitz pickups and blocking as a whole
Because his other skill set sucks compared to Weaver/Griffith. With the FB now Hasselbeck’s first read, Weaver would have rocked.
It is what it is...
The man shares Neal's willingness...no, enthusiasm...for hitting people as hard as possible
He’s a nutcase but that’s useful.
If Mora is back next year, I doubt those reps are granted without an injury to Griffith
It is what it is...
I've reached a point of wanting to lose Knapp
not because I blame him for any of this, but because I would like to see the offense constructed from the ground up.
I credited Ruskell at the time
but I am starting to wonder if he just got lucky. He certainly didn’t show the same vision in drafting and retaining Coutu.
Yeah, Coutu
Once Mare proved he still had his leg by booting so many kickoffs into the endzone, it should’ve been pretty obvious. And it’s not like kickers don’t kick until they’re 50. I don’t know why he thought Coutu would be so great. He never recovered from his college injury.

OT: I'm really surprised that...
Lorenzo Charles (KC) has been worth a damn. Good for him.

I thought he'd be a bum
because of his size — behind a less-than-stellar offensive line.
