Broncos are playing too well to expect two good first round picks
Or are you thinking we trade for a young elite QB?
Rams or Bucs should be drafting Suh

Not to sound like an old man
but when I was a kid, my mother didn’t need to encourage me to play for 60 minutes a day, why has that changed?
I make video games
I also used to play them, but still had lots of time to go out and skateboard etc.
I blame parents, not video games.

Elimating high fructose corn syrup would work better...

I'm proud to say
The only thing in my kitchen right now that contains high fructose corn syrup is bloody mary mix
It's a little wrong to say a tomato is a vegetable, it's very wrong to say it's a suspension bridge
Just eating healthy makes sense
(Which implies lack of corn syrup)
I have a 13 month old, so I get to see if my theories hold up.
You know 50 years ago there was far more fat in our meat in America..
we’ve trimmed the fat. Everything is “anti-fat” “lean” etc. Fat isn’t the problem.
But yeah, simply shopping from the outside aisles of the market will do a ton for a healthy diet, even if you still eat massive portions like most americans (myself included.)

On a semi unrelated note
I discovered I’m gluten intolerant. Every gluten free alternative to gluten stuff sucks (with rare exceptions) so I’ve just cut bread/pizza/pasta out of my diet and replaced as much of it as I can with salad. I didn’t do this to lose weight, just because salad tastes better than the alternatives.
I’ve lost about 20 pounds in the last year on this ‘diet’.
My wife found a recipe for brownies
that uses black beans (yes I know!) instead of bread. It’s something like 1 unit chocolate, 1 unit sugar 1 unit black beans.
It sounds terrible, but they are amazing.
My wife's dad went on a diet that simply eliminated bread from his diet.
He’s lost 20 pounds or so as well. I thought about trying, but I love bread too much. Bread or grease is not my enemy, my sweet tooth is.

Eh, if you run 60 minutes a day, I don't think it would matter if you ate a pint of ice cream every day.
And I’m referring to myself.
I think it is
but being active is what matters I think.
Not being Obese (for people that don’t have medical conditions) generally requires eating normal amounts of health food and keeping active.
As an aside, every skater I know is very thin (I worked on Sk8 and hung out at some of the skate parks in BC for ideas).
Skateboarding is definitely quality excercise
I’m sure its at least as good if not better than walking or biking. There is a pretty high degree of friction compared to a bike and just the act of balancing alone is a lot of hidden exercise.
My personal trainer over the last year has given me a lot of exercises that are nothing more than balancing acts, because balance uses a pretty large number of muscles. It feels easy to do, but is good exercise anyway.
I don’t know why skaters are so freakishly skinny, but I’m guessing it has more to do with diet than anything else. Its a lot easier to cut 1000 calories out of your daily 2500 calorie diet than work off an extra 1000 calories. Being outside all the time, they don’t have easy access to food like someone lounging around at home would.
A diet of crank?!?
Kidding. Sorta. But not really.
Actually I am.

Heart rate doen't stay up for long enough.
I would put it as exercise only if Bowling, scootering, and golfing are considered exercise.
Granted, they’re all sports, but I’m never going to say ’I’m going to exercise’ then play a round of golf.
Can't, too injury prone and not-coordinated and no balancing skills.
I’m not going to argue that you can’t keep your heart rate up. But people generally don’t keep their heart rate up.
Possibly.
Didn’t realize there were so many skateboarders here.
If someone told me skiing wasn’t exercise, I’d say that’s you’re opinion.
Or walked 18 holes of golf on a hot summer day...

I was thinking that, but looking at YPC, it's the same (SSS I know)
so I don’t know if Jones is doing that poorly.
So is the problem Knapp?
I was always suspicious of someone who worked for the Raiders in a past life
I just wonder if we're blaming a bunch of different people
when they are just being used wrong. Like that bad pass on the last drive. Did Knapp make the call with no real 2nd option for Hass?

That not how it works though
Obviously the deep route was the goal but even if Matt had an arm that could make that throw Butler was covered. He should have gone elsewhere.
I guess it just seems like the pieces are really underperforming too much
as if there has to be something else messing up. I even think Beck’s noodle arm is surprising. Its like he got an anti transplant in the off season. The %‘s say he’ll be off his peak, but this?

If anything this game is beginning to explain why removing Ruskell was necessary… defense playing acceptably, but lacking an offense capable of capitalizing.

He wasn’t saying stuff improved because Ruskell has gone, he was saying the situation is DUE to Ruskell and that his going will help mend the problem in the future.

Indeed. Our run defense has been a lot better than most of us have given credit.
…and they actually got some pressure today. Not a lot of sacks, but definitely timely pressure that forced some bad throws.

Give me a day and I'll probably find some reason
to realize that this game didn’t mean a whole lot more than any other game. But this win just felt so good!
I hate how Texas feels like they deserve an automatic bid to the national championship game.
TCU deserves to go.
Yeah, Boise isn't as explosive as they were a few years ago when they went against Oklahoma.
This is why I don’t want to see Boise State go against TCU. The BCS pockets money and the MWC doesn’t get the opportunity to win a NC for a third time.
Why not?
There are 3+ weeks between the end of the season and the BCS games.
I say you have a 4-team playoff (2 games the week following the final rankings). Each of the teams are guaranteed a spot in a BCS bowl, but the two winners go on to battle for the NC.
This year you have Alabama vs. Cincy and Texas vs. TCU. The winners of those games go on to the NC and the losers play in their respective BCS games.
You might even just pit No. 2 and No. 3 against each other (1 game playoff) to battle for a spot against No. 1 in the NC game. The winner of Texas vs. TCU goes on to play Alabama.
You still have the bowls in my scenario.
And it’s determining the No. 2 team generally that causes such a problem. This year you have three teams who have a case to be No. 2 (four teams if you include Boise State, but their schedule wasn’t much this year).
Oregon wasn't a real team.
You’re right. But Florida is. They showed it against Charleston Southern, Troy, and Florida International.

They played a rusty oregon team that was breaking in new starters new head coach
and all that
I am a duck but dont take that loss seriously because if they were to play that game 10 times oregon would win atleast 7/10 times
My point is that they did what they could with the schedule they could.
Florida played 3 teams that don’t even belong in division 1, and they get a free pass for it, despite having an easy SEC schedule year after year.
The SEC needs to eliminate the conference championship game (and about 4 schools). Their best teams should play each other during the regular season like the only real conference left, the Pac 10 does. Or they can avoid each other and face the debate hounds just like TCU, Boise State and everyone else.
The one saving grace I give to Texas/Oklahoma is they do actually play each other.
Bird Law in this country isn't governed by reason.
by whiskey chainsaw on Dec 6, 2009 5:24 PM PST up reply actions
I agree Sec schedule's are a joke. But so is the Big 12
Texas played Utep and loisiana-Monroe.
Oregon easily has the top 5 SOS they play real teams week in and week out just like the rest of the pac 10 Other then the big 3 in the SEC (Bama LSU and Florida) they have noone else that are worthy of being in the top 25.
Everyone thinks that the Pac-10 is doing it wrong and should do what the other conferences with the Conference Championship.
Pac-10 is the Best conference in College football right now.
Pac-10 is the best conference from a schedule standpoint.
Every team within the conference plays each other.
The SEC is the strongest conference from a talent standpoint. But they split the conference in half and don’t have to play everyone (thus increasing the odds one of the teams remains undefeated and plays for a NC every season).
Not to mention the fact that there are about 3-5 really crappy teams
in the SEC year after year.
The SEC WAS the strongest conference, but no longer, now that Arizona has Stoops, Cal has Tedford, UW and UCLA are rebuilding, OSU has learned to sustain excellence and Oregon has Nike money. Nope, the Pac10 is and will continue to be the best conference in football, even if the mainstream media doesn’t realize it.

Thank you Seahawks, I haven't rooted for you guys like this since your SB appearance
Cue game show wrong answer sound bite: ::wonk, wonk, wooooooonk::
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
And Knapp
That takes some balls sending in the rookie WR on a go route and throwing it to him when he hasn’t made a catch all game. I’m not even sure he’d even been in the game at that point.
I still don't like giving credit or blame to the OC for the reads a QB makes
That was all Hasselbeck in my opinion.
It was a great throw
and a great catch. But I was pretty sure Butler was the designed primary option. I don’t think I saw Hass look anywhere but at Butler, looked like he knew he was going to him from the get go.
And Butler!
For making a catch the other – higher paid by millions – Deon couldn’t

It's not delayed, we will get it live.
But we will be tuning in just for the picks. If it was delayed, nobody would watch.
I haven't seen a BCS selection show before
I suppose they would try and string it out, instead of “yeah here’s the picks k thx bye”
You know what, I was wrong.
It is being delayed. Fuck the Seattle coverage. This postgame show sucks.
Foxsports.com is listing the BCS selections live. Fucking Boise State vs. TCU. Such a fucking debacle. The BCS is pocketing MILLIONS by pitting these two together. Non-BCS conferences get lower payouts.
This is HORRIBLE.
I’m bummed for both those teams, they deserved better.

"too all those that think we need a new QB, this game showed
how Hass is still a starting NFL QB….stop talking Locker, blah blah"
Ok Ian, great, Hasselbeck's in prime shape
That’s why we should still draft a QB so he can learn like Favre-Rogers
Simple script for Mora here.....Our D bailed us out
They played great, stepped up and stopped San Fran when they needed to…..end statement
