Dinner parties I don't mind
I mean, we all do it, am I right? But it is disconcerting at brunch, I’m trying to enjoy my melon A-Dub…put the baby away!
No, I hear you.
It’s all personal preference. I chalk it up to how you’re raised. If you are forced to have it as a kid, of course you wont like it when you’re older.

I did some thinking while in the shower.
I want Suh, and I want a pass-rushing end. I want a QB too. I don’t see how all three of those things can be accomplished via the draft.
I don't think theres a dominant pass rusher in the draft this year
and all the QB’s are the same. So Suh!
I've seen Corey Wootton at the top of some lists.
That scares me, as he didn’t show an awful lot this year after his knee injury last year.
That's what I was thinking.
But as an OSU fan I have watched Canfield a lot, and it is only this season that he has developed good decision making. Which isn’t necessarily a criticism, just that he is still early in the process.
Suh might not kill right away
And Seattle might have to trade for the first overall pick to draft Suh.
That's probably the main reason not to do it.
Suh could have trouble adjusting to the NFL and anyone can Bust. The whole draft is almost worthless if Suh doesn’t become an elite DT.
SEA!
Yeah, it would be a scary decision.
But if Suh lived up to hype/potential it would be a Jerry Rice-esque coup.
I wonder what the actual value of the first overall pick is
Seems like the past few years the top team has desperately tried to get out of the pick.
Qwest will be biblical the day Seattle starts its run of defensive dominance.
Stonings and everything.
Forsett weaving through crucifixions.
Fun.
Nick Reed came over me and consumed my thoughts
that sentence is meaningless—wait a premonition—transmission!
Nick Reed will slim down and start at fullback in 2013
becoming the proper successor to Mack Strong.
Suh could transform this defense to top 10.
Sign Campbell and maybe the offense can become average (Unger has a year under his belt, Butler comes along, Carlson comes back strong).
It’s a tough call to make, but I think it would be worth it.
SEA!
Still need to add a tackle somehow.
Seattle needs more talent at that position. Maybe Charlie Brown falls to the second.
Campbell impressed me today
its the first Ive seen him play a whole game, but the Saints still won :)
Wins and losses are overrated in this case...
If the kicker makes that chip-shot, Campbell and the ‘Skins win. All the things that led to the loss were someone else’s doing.
Bradford is still at the top of my list for QB's

That's the boat I am in.
I was fairly stoked on the QB class before the season , and have had my hopes dashed.
Contend for what?
Playoffs? The Seahawks are not contenders beyond that.
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
I would use the Cardinals as a better example
Because the Steelers were a solid team and could not just compete, but win against teams that were above average to pretty good. Other than the 49ers, The Seahawks have not shown us that this year.
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.

Steve Breaston is still deceptively fast.
He runs like a slow person but leaves people eating his wake
There's nothing like a cup of good coffee in the evening.
Well, maybe a glass of nice beer, but that’s for a different set of emotions.
Though I am not opposed to Seattle switching to a 3-4
I think this defense deserves a chance to see what it can become.
We are 0-3 against them, losing by a combined score of 93-32
So, yeah, I will agree.
You can throw with either arm
Thanks Michaels, I didn’t know the left arm was available. Good thing for Canfield.
hi di ho everyone
we want the vikings to win ….correct?
Ray Edwards would get left out by lack of name recognition.
The Pro-Bowl is so annoying. I used to firmly believe in it.
Cardinals passing offense sure is fun to watch
when they’re not playing the Seahawks.
Is it just me, or does not seem like Warner has lost much arm strength?
Christian living
He still has a 27-year-old body thanks to a lack of alcohol and partying, I believe
I just tuned in here....
LOVE the biblical reference to Quest Field once the rein of defensive dominance begins….
Can you even imagine how loud that will be? I’m talking early 90’s WSU “shark attack” defense.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
I was a student there at the time...
We couldn’t wait to get Chad Davis off the field so the defense could come on… there were games they outscored the offense.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
Absolutely!
There is nothing as fun as watching a defense kick the other teams teeth in.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
whoopps
i do tend to type too fast for my mind
if arizona wins
does that eliminate us from any playoff chance?
That's the big thing.
They have the tie-breaker. Seattle really needs a miracle for the playoffs.
SEA!
Someone explain this to me.
Why run play action, and then just throw to the guy you just faked the handoff to? Why not just hand it off, or go further downfield?
No. I'd be upset.
O-line, QB, and/or DT.

so many options, this is going to be an exciting draft (hopefully)
Would love Spiller with the second pick. The first pick will probably come down to the best player left after those ahead have picked. No idea how it’s going to shake out. I wouldn’t be disappointed with Berry, but i guess that will depend on who we skip over.
Are safeties really worth that high of a pick?
It seems like an easy position to address in FA or the draft.
Look at the Steelers post Polamalu, the Reskins post Taylor, the Colts without Sanders
Look at what Reed does for the Ravens. Safeties can be playmakers involved in every play.
What about Laron Landry
I know John was high on him, but how much has he truly contributed to the Redskins D as a top-10 safety?
if so why havent we addressed safety before now?
our secondary has been notoriously weak and needed that kind of help.
At 12?
Sure.

I kinda want Arizona to win
Because I want New Orleans to get homefield advantage and I don’t think they’ll go 16-0
New Orleans has @ Atlanta, vs. Dallas, vs. Tampa, and @ Carolina remaining on their schedule.
They should win each of those games.
The Vikings almost lost to the 49ers.
Some teams are better matchups. The Redskins matched up well against NO. Also, NO came off a short week playing a good opponent.
kinda like to see 2 undefeated teams
in the superbowl myself
That's what I'd like to see.
Just wish that Seattle was one of them
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
by Carl Shinyama on Dec 6, 2009 6:59 PM PST up reply actions
I would hate to see that
It would bother me if the league is so unbalanced like that—where two teams can go undefeated into the post-season.
Why?
Why should no one ever go undefeated? You want everyone to 8-8 and have tiebreakers to determine the playoff schedule. That is what you are basically saying.
Because I'm secretly a socialist
I’m not saying no team should go undefeated, but if you see two teams in a 32 team league go undefeated in a 16 game season plus postseason, there’s something wrong. I just want to see competition, and not see the same team win over and over again. The game loses its excitement.
So you are advocating that all 32 teams should play each other during the regular season?
Look, an undefeated Colts and Saints teams meeting in the Super Bowl is the most exciting scenario possible, outside neither of them being the Seahawks. It is fitting that each are representing the AFC and NFC. If both were from the same conference, then I could see the letdown. But they are not.
What makes Saints vs Colts more exciting than any of playoff scenario?
Part of what makes the playoffs exciting is the unpredictable nature of it. The last two Super Bowls were the most exciting in memory, and they both featured teams—Giants and Cards—that essentially “weren’t supposed to be there” and still put on a tremendous show.
I'll be sad the day the Dolphins undefeated season record falls
I’m old enough to remember watching it, and its legendary at this point.
"Football players are temperamental. That's 90 percent temper and 10 percent mental." - Doug Plank
I hate the Cardinals
I hate their stupid red birdie on their helmets. I hate their stupid shopping-mall-like stadium. I hate their Red Zone. I hate their fans. I hate Darnell Dockett. I hate all their high draft choices on the field. I hate their city. I hate having them in my team’s division. I just hate them.

I just hate that they're better than the Seahawks.

You forgot
How they’re now the darlings of the media now that they’ve emerged from alternating eras of mediocrity and just being bad, while when Seattle experienced a similar renaissance the most we ever heard was, “Oh. Them. Is Seattle even in the US?”
well i gotta work in a few hours so
dinnertime and bed time for me. enjoy the game everyone.
Playoffs? Don't talk to me about playoffs.
The ‘Hawks can’t hang with the big boys this year. It would just be an embarassment. I’d like the Seahawks to play well down the stretch and end the season on a high. But at this point a good draft pick is better than a dubious playoff run.
Anyway, I hate the Vikings much more than I hate the Cards…at least as long as Steve Hutchinson plays for them. The whole Favre thing doesn’t help either. EJ Henderson? Starcaps. Yeah, screw the Vikes.
Random question while we're at it
Who else liked the darker blue pants today?
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
I'll lay this on the line
I don’t think Seattle has a shot at the playoffs. I almost resent the naive belief that it does. But I can’t help but root for the Vikings in the second half. Even if it’s fleeting, better for the team to be playing for something as long as possible.
NO! ME WANT BETTER DRAFT POSITION!!
Ok, that was a lie. I want the Seahawks to make the damn playoffs. I love that they actually have a shot to play for something.
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
by Carl Shinyama on Dec 6, 2009 7:13 PM PST up reply actions
A part of me wants that too
And then another part just wants a good game. I’ll be rooting for the Vikes until they go ahead.
It does not surprise me Arizona is playing so well
Great run defense against an offense predicated on the run.
I'll buy that.
And, for the record, I do think Curry is elite. But then could we not argue that Harvin is reaping the rewards of a potent offense and is not truly Calvin Johnson, Chris Johnson elite?
I think most saw Harvin as an elite athlete before the draft
it’s just where does and athlete play on the field?
That's what I meant when I said we need a new position for guys like him.
He is a superior athlete, but he needs a certain set of circumstances to be dominate. When I think of elite I think of a person that you could plug into any system and would still kick ass.
Do many defensive ends play well in their first year?
We may not know until next year. I don’t follow Kansas City, but you’d think he’d be playing more.
He's had games where he put some special numbers up

"Those who fear disorder more than injustice inevitably produce more of both." -- Rev. William Coffin
Peterson needs to bust one
or that Arizona offense will be emboldened and this thing could get silly.
I wouldn't be shocked if Arizona goes back to the Super Bowl.
Arizona/New Orleans would kick ass.
ME! BANE!
Owens at slot
Actual running backs, the Bills secondary, Poz, that line rotation. You could combine the Lions and the Bucs and make a contender. Well, ok no, but you know what I mean.
Forgot about Byrd
but with McKelvin hurt I don’t know what you’d take from that secondary. Stroud would be nice.
I remember back in 2007 me and my friend who's from the Bay Area made the all Niners/Raiders team.
It had really good punters.

Actually, we could’ve taken him with our second pick.
Arizona is so close to being elite
If only their defense was consistent and the o-line was better.

The NFC West is having a nice day.
I guess we could say Arizona stomping reflects well on the division.

I always kind of want them to succeed.
But screw the Raiders.

His press conference after the Bears game was hilarious
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
That team was ready made
I think Tomlin is great at what he does, but if it was a coach fantasy draft, I’d take Whisenhunt first.
I like Sparano to
but Whisenhunt went to the Super Bowl last year and is building a contender this year. With the Cardinals.
But the Cards always had talent
Fitz, Boldin, Wilson, Dockett, etc.
It’s not like he built the team ground up.
Maybe not the word I'm looking for
But the Cards had some degree of stability when Whisenhunt was hired. There wasn’t much of a overhaul with the players, so he already knew what he had to work with.
I’m surprised Mike Smith isn’t in this conversation for what he did with the Falcons.
That was a talented offense
and it added Turner and Ryan. I’m not sure how Smith should be credited for that.
Cards also had a talented offense
I don’t see how Smith shouldn’t be credited for Matt Ryan’s development and emergence. Did everyone just expect him to become such a solid quarterback right away?
I don't know
Millen kept the talent in Detroit very low, despite the high draft picks. Cards were drafting well before Whisenhunt.
Yeah, but the Cards had a shit ton of talent
From being bad for so long. They just needed an HC to give them identity and direction.
And discipline
And a defense.
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
by Carl Shinyama on Dec 6, 2009 7:59 PM PST up reply actions
There was just way too much talent on that defense to be as bad as they were
And their post season success was all turnovers, not incredibly sustainable.
Are the Niners fans really bitching about the Dre Bly holding call?
I can think of 10 different things they could bitch about. Not that holding call.
ME! BANE!
I'm not
technically it was holding but it was legit.
It’s the holding on Delanie Walker in the endzone that really upset me. (And Bly got away with the same holding against Chicago.)
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Seahawks playoffs hopes being unrealistic anyway, I have to admit I was rooting for the Cards this game.
