Knowshon Moreno 4.55; Glen Coffee 4.53/4.50
Moreno lacks long speed. I like a moves back with long speed, because that means he can slip a couple tackles and then really punish the defense. It also means he doesn't have to work for every yard. Moreno is going to take a ton of tackles, because no matter how free he gets, he'll never get away.
I'd like to see Coffee get that down just a hair. He's a one-cut, run guy that fits Seattle's zone blocking system. Think Tatum Bell.
Update: Wells just ran a 4.57. Expected better. I'm not loving this running back class.

Ian Johnson is a tenth of a second faster than Wells?
I would not have guessed that.
Me neither.
I kept hearing how slow he is, and how Wells is so big but would bust on in the low 4.4s.
I don't think we'll be drafting a RB this year
I agree with you on the “long speed”. Those are some disappointing numbers all around.

I don't think we need an RB anyhow.
Jones, Duckett and Forsett are good enough for me. What I really want is a veteran blocking fullback to help Schmitt along and provide insurance.
Oh, yeah.
Totally forgot about that. v_v

I wonder how big of a difference the new field makes
and were they using the digital timers last year? These might just be more accurate times.
I sure as hell hope they were using digital timers last year.
Since the use them at high school track meets.

Slower than expected, but
I have liked McCoy quite a bit. Maybe he will pass one of Wells/Moreno on draft day, which would be bad for my 2nd round hope of drafting him. He’ll surely run in the low 4.4’s I think.
although I hate to make the comparison
since I don’t think either of these running backs compare nor be nearly be as good, but Westbrook only ran a 4.57
The 40 time is so overrated.
It has really nothing to do with football speed. I’m not sure why they don’t have these dudes in full pads timing them. In the end, splitting hairs over a tenth of a second, or several hundredths of a second? Just seems like of silly to me.

Why would anyone draft those guys in the 1st,
when they could draft Tyrell Sutton in the 4th? The guy’s a beast. If we truly follow the best player available theory, I’d love to have him in the 4th round.
