TJ Housh to visit Seahawks Friday
Two sources tell FOXSports' Alex Marvez that T.J. Houshmandzadeh is making a free agent visit to Seattle on Friday.
It's the first visit scheduled for Housh since free agency opened at 12AM.
According to ESPN'S Mike Sando, Seattle would have the cap room for such a move (don't ask me to explain how).
JB from Calgary, Alberta, writes: What are the chances that the Seahawks target TJ Housh or similar in free agency? Do they have they cap/willing to spend? Or will they stick to the draft?
Mike Sando: Yes, they have the cap space. They would have interest in T.J. Houshmandzadeh if he wanted to play on the West Coast and if his price tag wasn't sky high. That would give the Seahawks additional flexibility heading into the draft. Receiver wouldn't be as much of a need in the short term.
Also from Sando, Housh has interest in Seattle and others.
My thought: It might be one of those 'if we really want him, he'd better not leave town without a contract' deals. Hopefully, his Oregon roots actually mean something and having the chance to both be the #1 guy and play in beautiful Seattle are pluses. A tour of the VMAC surely won't hurt, either. :)

I'd love to get T.J.
but I’d be concerned we were signing him on the wrong side of his career (he’s 31, you know). If he has a few years left in the tank and we sign him to a deal where we can easily cut ties at the right time, then signing him is a no-brainer.
Mike Clayton
per Rotoworld, Seahawks are also interested in Michael Clayton – Either him or Hous would be nice
Clayton?!
DO. NOT. WANT.

I'm still not a huge fan of bringing in TJ
It’s clearly going to cost us a bundle, and he’ll be here for what, two years? Are we really going to be Superbowl contenders in that time?
I’d rather take a look at younger guys with a bit more long-term potential: Reggie Williams, Ron Curry, maybe Michael Clayton as well.
yes we really could be superbowl contenders
add housh and then take a tackle (who would play guard until walt retires) with our first pick, a safety with our second, and a DT for depth with our third and we very well could be a deep playoff team.
Although signing TJ would greatly diminish our chances of drafting Crabtree.
I’m still all for it.

diminish?
say goodbye to Crabtree, no way are we going to have 20+ million tied up in four WR’s.

TJ will be 32
we’d get about 2-3 years out of him. I don’t think that rules out Crabtree at all. Branch, Burleson, TJ, Crabtree learning the ropes for his rookie year, all it does is push down the ladder our 3rd tier players who haven’t done anything yet, and may never, which is fine with me. Considering as most say, it takes 2-3 years to learn the WCO (though with Knapps version i’m not so sure that’s the case anymore) Crabtree would be hitting his stride just as we started to get really competitive again.

Looks like the Seahawks are the front-runners for John Stinchcomb

Wouldn’t he expect to start?
it means john Morgan
may have been dead on about Walter Jones. Lock takes over at left tackle, Stinchcomb at right.

wait
so, is it a possibility that we’re going to release Walter Jones? or are you just talking about the long run?

He may retire depending on how the injury plays out.
And by long run, I expect him this to be his final season if he makes it through training camp healthy.

Willis
I wish we could resign him - maybe we still can as Washington has spent a LOT of money in signing DeAngelo and Haynesworth (about 154 mil)
if you didn’t read the link about Stinchcomb – here is the gist of it
The Seattle Seahawks are targeting wide receiver Michael Clayton. He is their top choice as of the current moment.
3. Jonathan Stinchcomb is very likely to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.
Don’t forget that Hous, is supposed to be here today too. It looks like it may be a better FA than we thot - so, we let Wilis go and get Stinch – ok with me
I'd rather have Willis than Stinchcomb for a number of reasons. Not that he's bad.
Michael Clayton, oh god no.

I've been pulling for Willis for a couple of years.
He’s eager to learn plays and has a nasty streak. There’s no reason not to re-sign this dude.

Didn't wanna make a diary for this, but Mo Morris = Lions
I don’t have a link but Adam Schefter just reported it on the bottom line of NFL Network. Good luck Mo.
Is it bad that I laughed?

When will we know?
When will we know if TJ is going to be a Seahawk? If he leaves Seattle without a contract, can we kiss our hopes of having TJ goodbye?
There's a saying
that when the FA leaves the city, he isn’t coming back.

It's all good.
When I posted the first one I knew i should have used the reply button. But do you or does anyone know if Housh is still in Seattle? As my name implies, I’m from California so I don’t know.

Man, can Colin Cole or whatever his name is leave already?
He’s terrible and I’m afraid that we might actually sign this guy.
