Ruskell Attends Georgia Pro-Day
Both Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno worked out at the Georgia Pro Day held today.
As Seattle fans, we have discussed both drafting Matt Stafford or the unlikely scenario of trading down with the idea of selecting Knowshon Moreno. Moreno reportedly ran a 4.63 40-yard dash.
Stafford impressed some, but not all, with his arm, featuring a scripted workout where he threw 50 passes. It was reported that all but 3 of those passes were accurate.
Here are links to some of the info regarding the event:
The Georgia quarterback did nothing to hurt his standing as one of the draft’s top prospects. He was measured, and he threw for representatives of all 32 teams, including general manager Martin Mahew and quarterbacks coach Jeff Horton of the Detroit Lions, who own the top overall pick, as well as GM Tim Ruskell of the Seattle Seahawks, who have the fourth selection. -Gil Brandt

What does accurate mean?
Hit the hands of the WR?
It really depends on how much he was trying to simulate a game by rushing throws, or trying to throw with not perfect form (which he can do obviously with his cannon).
I think
that because the plays were scripted, that script could be used to verify accuracy, or at least properly assess the throws.(ie: play 1 = ‘20 yard out route’. Ball goes 20 yards in the area it should be thrown, or to that effect and therefore deemed ’accurate’). I’m guessing here, I don’t know, but that is plausible.
Every team will scout Stafford, of course
but when you send your GM and OC, you’re legitimately interested.
The Lions apparently sent 5 members of their staff?
I think it’s just safe to say any team who feels they have a legitimate shot early on to take the best QB available will be as interested as they can be in these events.
Let's go.
Back off, Kitties, he's mine.
If I have to watch Stafford get hammered in Blue and Silver on his way to getting shellshocked out of the league, I’ll cry.
