Old news, Sooners pro day Mar 11
This is old news, but Oklahoma has three players I really like: Duke Robinson, Juaquin Iglesias, and Phil Loadholt.

My thoughts on the three:
Everyone here loves the Duke, but he only benched 225 20 times, which seems contrary to expectations since he is known as a mauler. As good as Robiskie is, I wouldn’t mind Iglesias. If this were an SAT analogy, I’d compare Chung:Hamlin to Robiskie:Iglesias. Iglesias has great hand and runs great routes, and I was thoroughly impressed whenever I saw him. Lastly, Loadholt is projected to go in the middle of the 2nd round. He’s a massive guy at just shy of 6’8". His 40 was only 5.4, but he had a decent shuttle time as well as 26 reps on the bench.

For Duke, do you trust the tape
or the combine numbers? No one blocks from their back, blocking demands the ability to get low(balance is a part of that), the ability to hit the right part of the player with your hands, and great total-body strength. Legs, back, arms, chest, they all work together on a block. I know Larry Allen made the benching famous, and he is a mauler, but is that really a complete indication of his skill?
Also take a look at this.
Duke Robinson – Projected as a mid to late first round pick, Duke didn’t lift due to an arm injury that also kept him out of the Senior Bowl, but he ran a 5.27 40 yard dash at the Combine on Saturday. Meh. Regardless of his limited involvement at the Combine, he looks like he is going to be an impact player and may be gone before the Eagles first pick at #21.
Arm injury kept him out of the Senior Bowl and from lifting at the Combine, so it is not like he has had a chance to lift continuously since the season ended to build up a great number for the scouts. Just like when Jordan Kent ran like a 4.5 something at his pro day because of a foot injury that kept him out of the combine, despite being a nearly world class sprinter.
