Cowboys cut Williams (the safety), should Hawks consider?

"They cut Roy Williams the Safety":http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3954441

He would seem to make sense for the Hawks for the same reasons as Phillips. I truly hope that it is Russell we are considering benching, and not Grant... I mean, the FO and coaching staff can't be THAT blind right?

I haven't really watched Williams a ton. He is known for his run-stopping, but is considered a liability in coverage.

Interesting things happening in Dallas.

What do y'all think?

Heck no

Talk about a safety who can’t cover a WR or play zone to save his life…

we don’t need another LB anyways….

Strong Safety

Has the team considered using tweener Will Herring at SS and moving Grant to FS?

I'd take Herring

over Russell and Williams both…

same with Adams and CJ Wallace even though they haven’t proved anything….that is how much Russ and Will suck

Well,

You say ‘liability in coverage’ and you’re right. Such a liability that he has to come out of the game. Not even Russell is that much of a liability in coverage (although some could argue that).

Never.

Williams is arguably one of the worst starting safeties in the NFL now.

If he was super cheap

I’d use him as a nickel linebacker.

I'd agree with that

because he’s playing linebacker…which is basically is….not safety…which he isn’t at all

Hahaha

That’ll be the easy level of the R.W. Drinking Game

wanna get more serious….then take a shot every time Roy bites on a play action pass and takes himself completely out of the play.

You’d be smashed before the 2nd quarter if he’s playing a team like Philly, SD or Indy

I love how cutting R.W.

saves the Cowboys a whopping $1 million.

and an extra 6-10 TDs through the air.

Maybe it’s to soften the blow of T.O.’s 9 million cap hit.

The sad part is,

you aren’t exaggerating. I never understood why he went to so many pro-bowls. Well I did, it’s because of all the sacks he gets. But still…
