I like Nate Davis
I think the learning disability thing isn’t as concerning as perhaps everyone else thinks it is. So maybe I’m wrong.

No interest in Duke Robinson?
I’d say “no way he lasts until 178”, but then again we’d have originally said he wouldn’t last past the 3rd, max. He’s still there, amazingly enough.

There's something about the guy we don't know.
This fall is really startling.

good point..but
it happens every year to some players.

Exactly my thoughts.
This reminds me eerily of Ben Patrick in the 2007 draft. Projected to go in the early 2nd but falls alllll the way to the 7th round.
Weez the juice!!

If Duke is there...
we should take a chance on him. To big and massive to pass up.

Duke's gone
Carolina grabbed him

Hamlin, Hamiln, Hamlin, Hamlin.
Graham Harrell if Hamlin isn’t available. ..he might slip to the 7th. Or we can trade many of our 7th Rounders to get him in the 6th. We should stay away from Nate Davis. Does not fit our offense. Harrell is more West Coast Offense friendly.

You can not trade supplemental picks.

John...
can you pick a guy for a team, then trade those rights?
Alas, it is always darkest before the dawn, and there is now a new dawning for Washington sports. Believe it!!!

So is there some way...
to trade a couple supplemental picks to someone by having them pick the player we want and picking who they want in those spots?
I mean, in a way in which it is agreed upon prior to us selecting those players somehow? (So we don’t get handshake-screwed).
I would sure love to grab Duke at this point… or Hamlin maybe too, but mainly Duke… just seems so talented you take a chance on him at this point!
Alas, it is always darkest before the dawn, and there is now a new dawning for Washington sports. Believe it!!!

No, that sounds wrong
You can’t trade a player until you have drafted them. Agreeing to trade a player before you draft them would constitute tampering, or something along those lines. I don’t think any team would agree to that either, because there’s essentially no player you can guarantee will be available at the end of the seventh.

I hear you...
I was just trying to figure a way around it…

How does anyone feel about nabbing Rashad Jennings out of Liberty to throw into our backfield mix for training camp?

I haven't seen him play
but from what I heard he has some ability and was at least in a bigger program with Pitt before moving closer to home for family reasons

Bear Pascoe still available?
Trade our entire draft next season to move up and get him NAO

Shipley?
I’d feel bummed if we got him in the 6th, just because we traded up to get a ‘comparable’ talent in Unger.
by LantermanC on Apr 26, 2009 11:38 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Unger is a far better interior line prospect than Unger.
Unger was a borderline first rounder. Shipley was a borderline 5th rounder.

Hamlin, Peerman or Robinson
John’s obviously right, there’s something we don’t know about Duke. But I would love to take a chance on a guy who could help out immensely in running downs, I mean why not?

Also, what is Mike Teel and why did we pick him? He looks like he’s 40.
by SPENCEMAN on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Huh.
At least he improved each year with his accuracy and TD-Int ratio. Nice to see that after R.R. was drafted he had his best season. He’s 23, also (in reference to the 40 comment, hehe).

by J Hens on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I can answer questions about Teel
if anyone’s curious.
Smart kid, good leader. Average arm. Negatives would be that he makes poor decisions, doesn’t have a lot of touch on his passes, and is inaccurate at times. He’s either really hot or really cold, streaky.
I think he’s a lot better than the other guys out there like Cantwell though.
Everyone cheered for him because he’s the local kid.

has a tendency to force things
he knows the every in and out of the playbook though. Comes across as very sharp in his interviews.
Yeah, he already has a bald spot at 23. Has a hot girlfriend though.

1. Teel was a protege of Phil Simms, they’re still really close.
