Who Remains For Seattle at 178

Seattle has one pick left in this draft before their supplementary seventh round picks. It could, conceivably, trade down and split that pick. There's still some intriguing talent. Here's the players I see still out there that provide good value.

I like Nate Davis

I think the learning disability thing isn’t as concerning as perhaps everyone else thinks it is. So maybe I’m wrong.

No interest in Duke Robinson?

I’d say “no way he lasts until 178”, but then again we’d have originally said he wouldn’t last past the 3rd, max. He’s still there, amazingly enough.

Hamlin, Hamiln, Hamlin, Hamlin.

Graham Harrell if Hamlin isn’t available. ..he might slip to the 7th. Or we can trade many of our 7th Rounders to get him in the 6th. We should stay away from Nate Davis. Does not fit our offense. Harrell is more West Coast Offense friendly.

John...

can you pick a guy for a team, then trade those rights?

Alas, it is always darkest before the dawn, and there is now a new dawning for Washington sports. Believe it!!!

by Tyler Jorgensen on Apr 26, 2009 11:12 AM PDT up reply actions

So is there some way...

to trade a couple supplemental picks to someone by having them pick the player we want and picking who they want in those spots?

I mean, in a way in which it is agreed upon prior to us selecting those players somehow? (So we don’t get handshake-screwed).

I would sure love to grab Duke at this point… or Hamlin maybe too, but mainly Duke… just seems so talented you take a chance on him at this point!

Alas, it is always darkest before the dawn, and there is now a new dawning for Washington sports. Believe it!!!

by Tyler Jorgensen on Apr 26, 2009 11:23 AM PDT up reply actions

No, that sounds wrong

You can’t trade a player until you have drafted them. Agreeing to trade a player before you draft them would constitute tampering, or something along those lines. I don’t think any team would agree to that either, because there’s essentially no player you can guarantee will be available at the end of the seventh.

I hear you...

I was just trying to figure a way around it…

Additionally

How does anyone feel about nabbing Rashad Jennings out of Liberty to throw into our backfield mix for training camp?

by PRIDEin253 on Apr 26, 2009 11:24 AM PDT reply actions

I haven't seen him play

but from what I heard he has some ability and was at least in a bigger program with Pitt before moving closer to home for family reasons

by maninvan on Apr 26, 2009 12:16 PM PDT up reply actions

Bear Pascoe still available?

Trade our entire draft next season to move up and get him NAO

Shipley?

I’d feel bummed if we got him in the 6th, just because we traded up to get a ‘comparable’ talent in Unger.

by LantermanC on Apr 26, 2009 11:38 AM PDT reply actions

Unger is a far better interior line prospect than Unger.

Unger was a borderline first rounder. Shipley was a borderline 5th rounder.

Stupid Unger being better than Unger

When will the Unger’s learn!

I'm not personally interested in Shipley

but I respect Doug’s opinion and I know readers are interested.

Hamlin, Peerman or Robinson

John’s obviously right, there’s something we don’t know about Duke. But I would love to take a chance on a guy who could help out immensely in running downs, I mean why not?

Let's go.

no robinson

I'd like to kick Josh Brown in the privates!

Michael Hamlin is gone. Gr.

Cross off

Glover Quin & Corvey Irvin from your list. They went in 3rd and 4th rounds.

by bp42810 on Apr 26, 2009 12:40 PM PDT reply actions

Courtney Greene seems pretty solid too.

He seems like a high character guy from what I’ve read, that and an in the box type who underachieved

Let's go.

by J Hens on Apr 26, 2009 12:41 PM PDT reply actions

I'm high on him.

Him or Sanford for Safety. Local QB. Or Liberty RB. One of those 4. Or Peerman or Ringer.

Nate Davis to San Fran. Damn.

Well I couldn't decide if I wanted Davis or Reilly

I guess that makes up my mind for me. Now I just hope Reilly makes it to us.

It sounded like his frat went crazy.

Was he an intramural sensation?

I'd like to kick Josh Brown in the privates!

by The Manchild on Apr 26, 2009 1:10 PM PDT reply actions

Motherfucking Browns.

I bet the hawks were counting on picking Carey. Apparently Teel was their backup option.

by redwolf75 on Apr 26, 2009 1:11 PM PDT reply actions

Why was everyone going crazy?

Also, what is Mike Teel and why did we pick him? He looks like he’s 40.

by SPENCEMAN on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM PDT reply actions

Huh.

At least he improved each year with his accuracy and TD-Int ratio. Nice to see that after R.R. was drafted he had his best season. He’s 23, also (in reference to the 40 comment, hehe).

by vanrijn on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM PDT reply actions

Seems like a decent pick with Teel, really.

He improved statistically every year he played, has good measurable’s.

Let's go.

by J Hens on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM PDT reply actions

I can answer questions about Teel

if anyone’s curious.

Smart kid, good leader. Average arm. Negatives would be that he makes poor decisions, doesn’t have a lot of touch on his passes, and is inaccurate at times. He’s either really hot or really cold, streaky.

I think he’s a lot better than the other guys out there like Cantwell though.

Everyone cheered for him because he’s the local kid.

by number_twentyone on Apr 26, 2009 1:13 PM PDT reply actions

has a tendency to force things

he knows the every in and out of the playbook though. Comes across as very sharp in his interviews.

Yeah, he already has a bald spot at 23. Has a hot girlfriend though.

by number_twentyone on Apr 26, 2009 1:17 PM PDT up reply actions

Two other random notes

1. Teel was a protege of Phil Simms, they’re still really close.

2. Reportedly is a good punter, although he never tried it in games.

by number_twentyone on Apr 26, 2009 1:19 PM PDT reply actions

Really? There's a question about that?

Leanne Tweeden

But Andrews out of those two

Let's go.

God I dislike her.

My brother and I used to spend a lot of time making fun of her. She puts too much emphasis on certain words sometimes.

San Fran grabbed Pascoe

Glen Coffee, Nate Davis, Bear Pascoe

Huh.
