Potential Safety Fix?
I think that the staff is extremely high on Jamar Adams but this is just an idea to throw out there that I haven't seen been discussed at all for a replacement for Brian Russell. What about Josh Wilson? He seems to have skills suited to playing safety (although I'm not so sure about his tackling) and it's not like the situation at the position could get much worse. Wilson played safety and corner at Maryland. I could be totally off and there could be a easy reason why Wilson isn't a consideration, but I didn't see one in the games this year. Thoughts?
A place to bury strangers.

We've discussed this before.
Although personally I’d rather have him stay and develop at CB. Remember, this was his first year with extended playing time and he did fantastic.

I think...
that Wilson would be a good cover safety just because whenever he played the QB he did a great job staying with the WR, reading the QB and breaking on the ball
With his quicks at centerfield and his really good read & react skills…he’d be awesome…
until he gets broken to pieces during his first game at safety. A shame he’s so tiny.

Plus he is so aggressive that he might knock himself out.

We've talked about it
And think he could do well. Put the general consensus is his body wouldn’t hold up.

Ah.
Thanks for clarifying. I guess I missed it.

I'm on Jamar Adams bandwagon for now
Until preseason gets under way I’m not gonna enter into any more “what if” scenarios. I do think Wilson would be better than Russell, but who isn’t?

Same. Jamar Adams all the way.
Unless of course he shows he can’t handle it or Jennings plays awesome at CB, and Lucas looks like he could make a good FS.
McCoy McCoy 2010, also acceptable, Russell Okung, Ndamukong Suh, Dez Bryant, Ciron Black, Trent Williams, and Bryan Baluga.

Still waiting (im)patiently for Russell to be cut.
Why hasn’t this happened?

Big Play Babs
Don’t forget about about Babs…
for corners we got Tru, Lucas, Wilson, Jennings and then slide Babs over to Safety with Grant.
I’ll take Tyler Schmitt at Safety as long as Russell isn’t in there

That's what I was thinking
If Wilson is an answer, Babineaux is more so. Not a long term answer, though, but failing confidence in Jamar Adams to not Boulware it, Babs would seem the best option.

I have an idea....
Let’s walk through down town Seattle and find a really athletic guy and have him take Russell’s spot. I could care less who plays there, and long as it’s not Brian.
Let C.J. play the first two games there and see how he does. I know he’s a big part of our special teams, but keeping Russell stay there? Come on. I read somewhere, forget where, that the coaches seem sold on Russell, for whatever reason. Hey, if they feel they can coach him into the player he was supposed to be when he came over, I’m all for it. But how long will we sit him out there to be a cheerleader on the field. I can walk out there and flap my arms to get the crowd pumped up and run over to the player who made the play, pick him up, and slap him on the butt. I’ll do it for free, why pay him?
I'm glad the Hawks get no media attention/NFL fan love. Makes it so much more fun when we win.

CJ Wilson can not play safety at the NFL level.
His sole value is ST.

Wallace.
Wilson plays for the Texas Rangers I believe.

But if Hasselbeck ever needs some relief
Wilson will have his back. And he’s probably more athletic than Russell. We should trade for him.

OR?
What about Will Herring? Do you think they have ever considered him at saftey? He is a tweener (safety in college linebacker size & speed) that maybe would solve the problem.

Slower than Russell?
Is that possible?

Possibly, since he's a linebacker and all.

Just thought I'd dash everyone's hopes
with a sole crushing note by Sando.

Look at his last observation. Russel is running with the 1st team as Safety still, same as last season. It’s only May, so there’s still a chance. But so far, there’s nothing to give us additional hope.
